    I floated the trem on my Strat according to Carl Verheyen’s video a few year’s ago and it’s been that way since. It’s great. The one thing I miss is being able to do double stop bends in tune. A gear lesson still counts as a lesson, even if Corey's not teaching guitar licks or chords. I find it surprising that all that trem use doesn't knock the strings out of tune. It probably depends on the gauge of the strings you're using.

If yes, did you have any issue with the saddles ending up bottoming out? Thanks!

    • @dansands6363
      @dansands6363 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Pantalooj Some people like the trem to float parallel to the body (how it is shown in the PRS video), and other like the trem to be floating up from the back and touching the body at the screws (basically how any Fender comes from the factory).
      I have an American Pro II strat with a two-point trem that is floating with the trem parallel to the body and I really like it that way. I've never had a "traditional" style 6-screw trem with a parallel float but I'm eager to try it on my Silver Sky. I really reallllly like having a floating setup on my strat style guitars, and so I really want to try it out, but it plays so nicely how it is that I don't want to end up messing it up lol

I copied what you did exactly and noticed that afterward when the trem arm is pushed all the way in that it won't quite clear the volume control or the switch when it swings. Did you find that as well? Someone mentioned in another forum that this was the reason why PRS recommends you install a shim and loosen the six deck screws. I'm wondering if I can get away with just loosening the deck screws. I'm guessing that adding that fourth spring back might fix the issue as well but I like the looser feel of the three springs.
