      @ryancarlo9328 Před rokem +7

      @@clivet3252 because they stayed up. Regardless of how close it was or how they got this and that, they stayed up. You can't dispute that. Fine Margins, but after 38 games, no one stays up through good luck. And I'm sure you can go through Villa's season then and pick out bad VAR decisions that went against them. As Brian Clough once said, 'After a season of football, you can't claim a team achieved by default.' The table sorts itself throughout the season and where you finish is almost always an accurate depiction of where your team faired that season and Villa faired out well enough to stay up. By that basic principle, the decision not to sack Dean Smith and to stay with him, bare in mind they got to a League Cup final too, was the right decision and resulted in them staying up. Nottingham Forest right now could very well be in a similar situation right now where the decision to stick with your manager keeps you in the league, regardless of how fine the margins.

    • @clivet3252
      @clivet3252 Před rokem

      @@ryancarlo9328 But they stayed up by a point! If you're talking about it being a similar decision then all it takes is one thing to go against them that didn't go against Villa and that could be the difference. They ended up sacking him anyway because they saw no improvement. Leeds sacked Bielsa and stayed up by a point, but Marsch has made them worse.

    Forrest just need to find out what their best formation is; what their approach play should be; and what their best eleven is. Then play in a consistent way with a consistent eleven. Until they get team understanding, all their training should be based around their first eleven's team tactics and positional play to develop unity on the pitch. Sometimes it's better to have a small squad where the first eleven picks itself - as Lampard now has with Everton (Lampard had a huge squad at Chelsea which led to a rotation system, and this affected performances on thee pitch). Steve Cooper is the right man for the job, and has proven his abilities as a manager. You have to back the manager.

    The number one priority for Forest this season is for us not to get relegated. Is the club owner, Marinakis, prepared to stick with manager Stever Cooper for a longer term plan even if it entails being relegated this season? I doubt it. Marinakis will only give Cooper so long to turn things around. Marinakis is probably giving Cooper enough rope (matches) to hang himself, as the expression goes. I don't feel Cooper will turn things around sufficiently within the next few matches. This will cause the fanbase to turn, and I am anticipating Cooper getting sacked before the end of October. I like Cooper and I want him to do well, but things really are getting to a critical point. Things need to improve quickly for him. As an Everton fan who hates benitez, am not going to slag him off to much because I know others have a different opinion on him, for me he was awful he's a control freak. He sold our two most creative players in James Rodriguez and digne even though I'll give him his due he brought in Patterson and mykolenko, he is well known for being a pain in the ass with the board everywhere he goes, players arnt allowed to speak up, digne questioned his tactics in a professional way and he dropped him and sold him. John Terry on a interview with sky also went on to say they were going over tactics and he was talking about Liverpool but he kept saying we, Terry said gaffer the lads don't really like you saying we about Liverpool coz we are we now and he dropped him and never played him again, Newcastle fans love him because at the time they had a dick head in charge and he would go against them but his football is diabolical and am sure Newcastle fans would also admit that

    Forest should be a lesson for Championship clubs. While you may go out and sign lots of players on loan that will get you promoted you will be starting from scratch when you go up in the hardest league in the world. If the plan was to get promotion get the players in then hopefully bounce back after you have been relegated and learn from the experience then fair enough. But from the owners comments that is not the case, he seems to think that he can buy a squad that will in a short term win him trophies.
    There is nothing wrong with getting one or two players in on loan, particularly if you can get an option to buy, but if the bulk of your players are loan players in key positions then you are going to struggle. the only thing going in Forests favour this season is the World Cup break when Cooper (if he is still in charge) will get a month to work with these players in the hopes that the second half of the season can be better. In a normal season forest would be going down after this start.

    Signing all those players was ridiculous. You can only play 11 players at once, Sheffield United and Leeds had successful first seasons by keeping the core of the promotion team. All you need to do is get the best quality you can find to fill the weakest positions in the team. Steve Cooper has to take responsibility. He's agreed to all these players coming in and if he's too weak to say no then he's too weak to be a successful Premier League manager. If he's ruthless enough to drop his skipper because he doesn't think he's good enough for the Premier League then he can have no complaints if the owner decides he's not good enough.

Tammy Abraham being the main example, he scored 26 goals that season. But I think its not just that amazing contribution, its team spirit. Forrest had that last season, showed it in the Championship and the F.A Cup. You've bought some quality players but it takes time to build a spirit and understanding. It's 8 games in. Give him at least half the season. You're 6 points off tenth. Thongs can change quickly especially at this time of the season. Villa stayed up on the last day even though we spent alot of money.

How long until they go and yet another manager comes in? As a forest fan we’ve seen that quickly overturning managers isn’t a sustainable or effective way to run the club. It’s taken 23 years to find a manager who understands and loves the club as much as we do, so if he goes how long will it be until we find the next? Give him time, he’s the man for the job.

      Depends on the players you're working with though, doesn't it? Rafa's had 4 PL jobs: Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton. Won European trophies with the first 2. He took on a relegation-threatened Newcastle & couldn't save them from the drop, but he didn't abandon them - stuck at it & got them back to being a respected PL side. Everton was a disaster for him because of their extensive injury list last season. It's no accident that Everton & Leeds brought in lots of new players over the Summer - both clubs are terrified of being plagued by injury again.
