It's actually pretty simple. RB this year put more HONDA stickers on the car and every sticker increases power. It's a typical Honda rule. More stickers, more power.
MOre complaints from lewis and mercedes
No, the secret behind faster RBs is VTEC, which Mercedes lacks of.

I really hope the title fight is much closer than ever before
Judging by round one the 2021 season will be existing
lets go
lets hope that reliability won't be an issue for Red Bull this year
*since 2014
Well, hardly can get closer than 2007
When you realized Aston Martin used the same rake and rear suspension as Mercedes...RIP
before 2020, especially 2018,2019 the racing point/force india was designed after red bull's car, very similar because of the shorter chassis and higher rake, the irony
When you plagiarized the wrong car 😬
I was thinking the same thing. Lawrence Stroll must have been pissed. It also mean that we are not going have teams doing what High Point did in last year, with their Pink Mercedes. McLaren does use a Mercedes power plant but does not use the low Rake concept for it Formula One cars.
Aston Martin and especially vettel do not deserve to have a good car.

They are essentially only being rebranded. The facility and program are staying where they are...I am sure that some designers and engineers will have choices where they want to work.

If RB wins the Japanese GP this year, this could happen!
They really deserve it. Plus with max an perez together I am so excited.
I would like to See Senna in red bull too😢 When I think Honda I think Senna
I hope Redbull can maintain this pace. But knowing Mercedes they’ll find a good amount of pace and stay ahead. Hopefully it’s stays really close.
Toto has already expressed his doubts for the next 2 races. Let alone the fact that he also stated how difficult it will be for Merc to create downforce and catch up on one lap pace. Also at power hungry circuits, Red Bull are superior
@@valkeitos Toto has literally said this every year. It's possible he's not wrong, but you can't seriously take that at face value
I mean if Red Bull didn't screw up the strategy they probably would've won in Bahrain, while they normally don't really perform well there, so I think that even if Mercedes improves it will be very close
@@Tooms100 it would have been easier and will be easier for rbr when perez is in position...and dont forget max had issues all race...it seems everybody already has forgotten about that

Toto mentioned that the Merc PU was suffering derating issues, due to the extreme conditions. I guess in cooler European races, it might get better. With the teams being allowed only one upgrade, I reckon they'll only improve. But, let's not forget Honda will have something up their sleeves too.

2:51 Hi there Preity 😂
I have to watch this video twice. Once for the entertaining editing, then again for the actual facts.
2:26 made me crack XD
29 times of the track is legal ? it only gave Lewis a few SECONDS advantage in a sport that measures time in milliseconds. And changing the rules mid-race isn't really fair either.
It was legal because they said the race director said they would not monitor track limits on turn 4, so long as it did not give a lasting advantage. The race director also did not change the rules mid race either. Hamilton had been taking a much wider line than other drives, and over the course of those 29 laps it was clear his line was giving him a lasting advantage. They told him to back off, because at that point he was no longer respecting the track limit rules. Verstappen on the other hand made a pass with all 4 wheels of the track at turn 4. That is clearly a lasting advantage move, so he was instructed to give the place back. Overall the stupidity isn't that they changed the rules, its that the rules were vague as fuck from the beginning. What I find interesting is that you only find drivers bitching and moaning about track limits at tracks like Bahrain where you can take wide corners safely. At tracks like Silverstone where there is grass or gravel right behind the curb suddenly they have no problem with track limits.
@@nooranik21 The race director changed to rule after hearing the radio call to Max he could use turn 4 wide as Lewis and Valtteri did that almost every lap.
But the big picture here is : Lewis gained seconds advantage overall, in which case Max would have been in front of him for at least a couple of laps.
Conclusion: FIA needs to be consistent, the race belongs on-track not next to it.
You sound as if Sir Lewis, was the only driver to exceed track limits at turn 4. they ALL exceeded the limits. now that RB have the fastest car, you haters dont have the car drives itself excuse, so you have to invent a new excuse as to why Sir Lewis is the best driver of his Era
Red bull also adopted mercs rear suspension without having to spend a token. There is alot more in it than just the rake changes. Tighter packaging thanks to size zero honda engine meaning they can again work the air better at the rear or the car.
the first race was pretty even between red bull and mercedes. the reason was that red bull had traction problems because their diff had an unusual problem. that means, they could not use the whole engine power on the exit of the corners. maybe even energy recovery was a bit compromised breaking into the corner. that kind of grip problem also resulted in more tire wear. at the end they could not conserve the tires that well.
on the other side, mercedes could learn a good thing at testing and managed to stabilize their rear until the first race. they also positioned the filming day with extra 100km after testing which gave them an extra possibility to iron out their problems.
next race, red bull will have their diff problems sorted out and can use more power in the corners and make use of better energy recovery and deployment. a great advantage as we saw in qualifying.
i see a significant advantage on the side of red bull. but if they make mistakes, mercedes will be there and profit an that.

Also Mercedes: f1 didn't change the rules
@@poisonpotato1 rules stated in the previous race meeting by Michael Masi were that track limits at turn 4 would not be monitored in terms of lap time, meaning its okay for them to slightly leave the track. Its funny that people have failed mention this 27.3 for the past 5 seasons when everyone else has left the track, it's just convenient to use it when you're salty about Hamilton winning. You also failed to recognise that Max also exceeded track limits 20+ times, so why aren't you complaining about him? It has also been confirmed by Michael Masi that the rules on track limits at turn 4 were not changed mid race. I presume merc told Hamilton that due to an issue and to confuse the other teams.
my answer to this is simple: certain regulation combo's fit certain teams, look at the history of f1, after changing the regs a few times, the winning teams would be matched by another team, and then after further change, the winning team would drop back, we're going through the same change now, except its with merc, red bull and POSS McLaren of ferrari, so at the moment its either a three or four horse race to the top, but after about another two or three regulation changes, only one shall be the winner
I dont understand why people are already jumping to conclusions after the Bahrain grand prix. Yes, they looked quicker last weekend, but Red Bull has had weekends where they looked strong in the past too. As I see it, there were still 2 Mercedes in the top 3 in qualifying and not 2 Red Bulls. If a Red Bull takes pole again in the next race, or Perez joins Max in the top 3, then I'm actually starting to believe as well. The Race is also doing great work
Red Bull: We are good
Honda: VTEC AT THE END OF THE STRAIGHT
Toto: *this isn't even our final form*
Red bull still need to find a way to be quicker on the straights... mercs were still faster on the straights in bahrein. In the first stint, every straight, without drs, they caught up at least 0.3s, but then lost it in medium/slow speed corners! Even a few laps before the turn4 ‘overtake’ onboards from hamilton’s backview cam showed him pulling away from verstappen on start/finish!
If red bull want to win they need overspeed to actually pull of an corner overtake/outbrake move with drs on the straight!
According to Marko, max lost 3 tenths per lap due to problems with his differential....
@@muhammadarsalanamjad2394 I heard. Max said something about one tire spinning faster than the other at random moments... perhaps that wad the reapsn he had that snap when he overtook hamilton and went off.
but even in quali, the mercs were faster on the medium tire, which would partly explain the first stint
Less downforce will equate to a higher top speed on the straights. A higher top speed on the straights doesn't help in the corners
@@valkeitos it does, cause it means the merc will be able to pull away or at least keep it’s gap on the straights and the bull won’t be able to be close enough to comfortably overtake unless it has a drs!
Even with without drs hamilton was almost as fast as verstappen with drs, before going into that turn4 situation!
Seeing how most overtakes nowadays take place after or during a straight with drs (cause medium speed corners are just too fast to overtake), Verstappen and perez will have to do some serious ricciardo-esque dive bombing to overtake hamilton and bottas, if things stay relatively the same!
And somehow Hamilton will still end up with 3 purple sectors 😂😂

@@ScottCyclops Get used to it. Because Lewis is gonna win a majority of races in this so called "slower" car. I dont buy it. Mercedes are clearly better in the race than Red Bull. Max just put in a better lap in qually. Its that simple really.
A few remarks:
1) Max had a flawless quali run, Lewis lost a bit of time in final quali run (according to Dr Marco). Difference more like 0,2 seconds in quali.
2) Lando said that Max had overtaken Lewis before turn. A video from a different angle suggests Lando has a point.
3) Honda made a smaller engine so the whole engine package is made smaller therefore more airflow around the upperside.
This gives a better overall balance and more predictable shift in center of gravity during braking and cornering. Drivers can more easily drive on the limits.
4) Construction rules changed on request of Pirelli. They wanted more safety margin, several times in 2020 tires had blown. That was the driver behind the cut out of the floor.
yes max passed before the turn, BUT, he carried too much speed and had to go off track. that is the same as passing before a chicane, but not being able to make the turn and cutting the chicane, in which case you would be told to give the place back
FIA has their own advising engineers and they point things out to change in the car design that can make the difference to equalize the cars as close as possible , so they said let's cut off some floor to slow the Mercedes down (demn streight)
