i was lucky to be out with 2 friends when we found a hoard of gold and silver hammered, 7 nobles and 35 silver groats, half groats and pennies, an amazing feeling and a treasured feeling that will last forever. the hoard was scattered and since the original find, we have found another 20 or so silver and 1 quarter noble on the site, so Cleggy, when you think there are none left, leave it a year or so and go check again, ya never know ;-) (the mansfield area hoard)

Good question! There were a lot of Rocks in the ground. I think It was in a recess of a wall and then when the house fell into disrepair and eventually collapsed the coins were spread amongst the rocks. Gold is more bendable than silver. 👍
