Even now, the game has aged beautifully. It was very much ahead of its time back in the day. I still remember first playing it, and being blown away by all the little details and mechanics. I'd never seen anything like it before.
i know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
It is a great game. Not my favorite classical Mega Man game; that honor goes to 6 & 9. Nor not my favorite Mega Man game in general; that honor goes to Mega Man X1, followed by X4 & than Zero 3. But this is still a great game & I do like it more than 2 honestly.
My personal favorite classical Mega Man game is 6, 9 & 3. My favorite Mega Man game in general is X1; followed by X4 & than Zero 3. But 3 is still a great game and I like it more than 2 honestly. 2 is great, but I will agree that 3 is better.
Great music, my favorite is the title screen. Awesome robot master, my favorite is shadow man. OK weapon, I like shadow blade. Great game . Easily one of the best mega man games on the NES.
One of the best of the series. Not my favorite classical Mega Man game; that honor goes to 6 & 9. Nor not my favorite Mega Man game in general; that honor goes to X1; followed by X4 & than Zero 3. But 3 is still a great game. I like it more than 2; which don't me wrong. I like 2, but 3 is better than 2 honestly.
I rented this game many many times back in the day. In my opinion this is the best megaman of the series due to the music, the playability, the toughness, and the controls. This game has it all. I’d say it’s in the top 10 of the nes if not the top 5
There's always that debate on which is better, MM2 or MM3. I say flip a coin, because it's pretty close, and if I had to choose one, I couldn't, since they're both AWESOME.
While I would agree that the robot masters in MM II were superior to what we got in MM III, everything else about the third game was superior to the second. MM III took everything great about the second game and did it even better. MM III essentially perfected the Mega Man formula and is the reason that none of the games that followed have even come close to matching it in terms of quality.
wow, pure nostalgia. although i love megaman 2 better, megaman 3 brings back a lot of memories too. remember how i played it first in a shopping mall. yeah, there was always a nintendo you could play there. that was a great time. everything looked like magic. the many many games. and you had not so many informations because no internet. only the videogame magazines. it still looks like a lot of fun :-)
Cubex, thank you oh so much for these long plays. I just got done beating Mega Man 5 not too long ago and I'm currently kicking some major ass in Mega Man 3 thanks to your tutelage on how to pass the stages. I swear, if not for these vids, it'd take me damn near a year just to beat the Mega Man Anniversary edition.
His special weapons he used in Mega Man 3 are Hard Knuckle (Down Air Attack and a good meteor smash), Spark Shock (Up Smash), and Shadow Blade (Custom Standard Special).
My favorite in the series and the perfect way to close out the original NES trilogy of games. The next three games that followed on the NES were never able to live up to the first three.
MM3 is the best classic Mega Man. Better controls, balanced weapons, Rush, Protoman and the awesome slide all add a lot to the series. I also don't see a problem with the level design and in fact enjoy the Wily stages WAY more than the ones in 2. Sure they're tricky but Rush is there to help if you get stuck.
The only downside I had is the Doc Robot challenge. But other than that, Mega Man 3 is still a great game & it's my favorite of the classic series. Not my favorite Mega Man game in general, but it's my favorite classic Mega Man game.
Hey, you haven't seen Fez, Limbo, Braid, or Super Meat Boy? Those are all really simple, but challenging and TONS of fun. Or if your a huge Mega Man fan, look up Mighty No 9 and prepare to crap your pants :D
I agree. Out of all of the MM games from the original series, only 2, 3, 5, Rockman & Forte (Mega Man & Bass), & 9 are the best ones. From the X series, it's X, X2, X4, & X8.
I have to say that this was great gameplay here. This *really* goes back in the day Before there was Chris Redfield, before Dante, even before Ryu, there was Megaman.

I was about to say the same thing (speedrun instead of longplay), since he goes thru quickly and doesn't go out of the way to pick up extra items (extra lives and energy tanks).
I don't use to play Mega Man at all, I'm more into Double Dragon and Ninja Gaiden series, but Mega Man 3 is amazing. For me, this game is incredibly difficult and I would never reach the first "??".
I got a question: So I was just playing Mega Man 3 on the Mega Man Legacy Collection, and it was really buggy. Did Capcom fuck it up? Or was it always like that and I just now noticed? I swear I played MM3 on the 3DS version of Legacy collection and it was perfectly fine, but then I played the PS4 version and it was really glitchy. It was really weird...
Perhaps the best main title music of the series but requires letting the start screen play for quite a while before it actually begins in earnest. I don't think I ever heard it back in the day, but much later on the PSX port, wondering if an introduction sequence had been added.
I remember before Mega Man 3 came out there was suppose to be a storyline where Dr. Wiley was turning good but then end up screwing over Dr. Light as usual and also if you hold down up and a on the second controller it actually freezes the robots.
@cubex55 Are you playing this on a Nintendo Entertainment System, Wii Virtual Console,an emulator, or Mega Man Anniversary Collection. If it is a Nintendo Entertainment System or Wii Virtual Console, what kind of turbo controller are you using. If it is Mega Man Anniversary Collection, is it for Nintendo Gamecube, PlayStation 2, or Xbox. I like Mega Man games very much and I like your longplays very much. I'm just curious. It would be nice to know what you use for your Mega Man longplays.
38:47 that part of the game glitches a lot on my cartridge, i also saw the same glitch going on on other game cartridges from my friends, can someone tell me is that a production mistake or what, p.s. me and my friends have PAL games we live in Europe.
This game was a lot better than MM2. Best soundtrack in the series, better and more fun gameplay than 2, especially with the slide ability. The only thing that really drags it down are those doc robot stages and some odd robot master choices and of course that abysmal lag
I actually kinda liked how the Doc MM2 bosses kinda matched the stage designs in this game. For example, Metal Man's stage had cogwheels and machinery in the background, which is very similar to the backgrounds on Spark Man's stage, and Flash Man's stage had blinking glowing environments, which is very similar to Gemini Man's stage. Even Wood Man's appearance on Shadow Man's stage makes sense, since Japanese media sometimes portray ninjas as disappearing in smoke and leaving pieces of wood behind, and Shadow Man's stage also has a "woodlike" colour.
unfortunately you can see one of the biggest flaws of most emulators - timing. There's often massive screen lag (and fortunately also time lag, which makes it somewhat still playable during those issues). You can see what i mean from 1:02 for about 2 seconds long. But still: Youre one badass-expert when it comes to Mega Man, i watched all your videos, MontyMole :)

Best music of any Megaman game
Brings back memories, and the music is just the best.
This felt more like a speed run than a longplay, but still good.
Evilucian it did but a lot of these older games were quick if you knew what you were doing and had mad skill.
...What's the difference in a game like this if you are good enough to do it fast?

The Greatest Mega Man Game of All Time!
Yes it is. My favorite out the series of Mega games.
MM3 is one of the greatest games of all time, period.

Stephen P its also my favorite, principally because of the soundtrack.
except for mm2, yes
Wow, this guy makes Mega Man look dead easy. Great job, and great fun to watch!
+Odd Magne Granli you should check out Checker's run of the game, where he beats it in 30 minutes.
+Odd Magne Granli Tool Assisted Speedruns have nothing to do with player skill.

JohnACorp. I didn't say I don't like 3. I just said that I prefer other Mega Man games over 3. But I still enjoy 3. And it's just an opinion.
