Dr. Dray right now is buyers market and maybe this is a sign to find your quiet place. We rented for a few nights in an apartment complex when we visited Austin and had a blaring fire alarm. I couldn't imagine dealing with that constantly. We also got a knock on our door that my kids were too loud and it was not even 7pm.

We lived at a couple newer apartment buildings with these next generation, fully-up-to-code fire alarms that absolutely blast through your skull. They were very sensitive and you just have to leave the building and decide to walk the dog for 30 mins until the fire dept shows up. Even if it's 3am. If the building is fully enclosed where all the apartments open to a common hallway, if the person who sets off the alarm opens their door into the hallway, that triggers the entire network of alarms in the building. It is the most traumatizing thing for people and their pets. Anyway, all that to say, I completely feel for you. Hope you sleep better tonight.
Could you imagine being a baby or as you said, having pets. I have rabbits and they are terrified of load sounds. It could literally scare them to death.
Itâs true! Years ago, when I was a kid I had a rabbit in a show and tell kind of situation that got so scared she died right there in front of me. I was devastated. I donât recommend them as pets for young children.

I had a similar night on 4th of july. People around here insisted on lighting fireworks well until 6:00 a.m.! And they are illegal here in southern california ! Talk about being obnoxious and lighting fireworks at 4:00 a.m. when you know the entire world is sleeping! Suffice to say I did not get a good night's sleep that night.

Been wondering how walking pads hold up.
We have had ours for almost a year now and my hubby and I both use it daily for many hours - except on the weekends and itâs holding up fine. We do maintain it well - oil the pad etc.
That walking pad is awesome! I will have to see if I can order one here in Europe. I am doing a work-related training course and that is a device my mentors suggested we get to prevent ourselves sitting all day.
Iâm bummed out today because Hurricane Beryl is preventing me from getting home tomorrow. This gave me a much needed chuckleâŠand I learned something as usual. Appreciate this vlog every weekend but especially today â€
I love Nellie's & have used for years. It's clean with no petroleum products in it. I like that aspect even though I don't have overly sensitive skin. I hope the hurricane doesn't cause big problems in your area.
Pro tip for alarm mishaps.
Keep earplugs in a couple of easy to access drawers in multiple locations around the apartment, or your key bowl. Definitely in your bedside table!

This happened to me when I lived in CO! I had to eventually move because it was getting to the point where it was affecting my day to day. The apt manager just said it was a defect when the unit was built. đ

OH MY GOD!! I had the same exact problem when I was living in a fancy apartment complex fire alarm would go off all the time! It was so extremely loud I canât imagine how pets would feel. Everyone would need to go outside and the only way to go back up was through the elevator! Which means waiting for half an hour in the elevator line to go back up when itâs done đ© it was terrible! So glad I moved to a single family home đ

Your fire alarm story brings back memories! When I was in college, our dorm would have fire alarms in the middle of the night. In winter. Temps below zero. But was that not enough! We would have to do it about 30 minutes later. Right after you would get back to sleep! We never got an answer as to why once was not enough. đ

OMG! I would swear we live in the same building regarding the alarms - except I'm in the Midwest. Maintenance comes in once or twice a year to "test" them to be sure they are working. Trust me, they are deafening! Then, the company comes in at other times to test them again. It's a wonder we can hear anything after all this. By the way, I hope Beryl misses you!đ·đżđ©·

My apartment complex is the exact same way as she described. I'm in Texas too. The alarms go off all the time in the middle of the night and they last for an eternity before being turned off. Then they start back up again. It's a nightmare.
