My family and I moved when a hurricane was going through Florida, but it was close at the beach. Be safe, everyone.

I evacuated from Houston to my parent’s house in Louisiana for a few days cuz I’m still traumatized by the freeze a couple years ago! 😳
I swear I'm dying over here in Kingwood. Still no power and not even a prediction of when it will be restored. Still have trees on power lines 😫 Enjoy a bit of that a/c for me! 😅

We are in the Conroe/Woodlands area and we are on day 6 with no power 😢 but we do have running water and cell service now. And we are alive! Glad you’re okay Dr Dray!!

I moved to eastern Texas during this hurricane. A total doozy making a 20 hour drive in a UHaul with a car towed behind it through that kind of wind and rain after living in a desert for 4 years! Cheers that we both made our moves safely!

I survived Beryl and we got our power back last night! Glad you are ok and thriving Dr D! We installed a whole home generator after the Valentine Freeze in 2020..best money we ever spent!
I live in Houston too, but still no power 😢. We were considering a whole home generator. How much did it cost you? ( If you can share the info)
@@aidashanka5773 we have a Kohler and total install and extension of gas line was about$13,000 in 2020. We pay for a service company to test it quarterly around $500 a year. We live in Seabrook so we get frequent short term power outages from 15 minutes to 4 hours.
I'm so happy you are moved and safe. Two Men and a Truck moved me years ago, and they were amazing. Reliable company. Easiest move i ever made. Hope the rest of Houston recovers quickly. And make the heat calm down! 🌷🌿

We are living in crazy times. Tomorrow marks one year since the Lahaina fire. There is a paddle out remembrance. for the 102 souls lost, which I will attend, followed by other events throughout the day. Glad you made it through those difficult days with the hurricane. You moved under the worst conditions! Yikes.

I can't imagine trying to move during all this - how incredibly stressful. Been through many hurricanes myself and that kind of heat/humidity is no joke. It was interesting to see the configuration and interior, more of your old apartment after all these years. I like the tile work in the new bathroom! Great tip about the 3M tape--my eldest niece just rented her first place with 3 roomies, and they want that security deposit back y'all. It's Boston, too, so the deposit is HEFTY. Glad you are safe; we lost power up here in the Southern Metroplex due to winds, but not long enough to cause heat danger.

Thanks Dr Dray you really saved my day. Stepped on a fire ant hill today in a nearby park. Went straight home and applied Aveeno 1% hydrocortisone cream to bites on feet (I had on flip flops) and ankles. It worked on me right away and really helped soothe the bites. You had recommended this in an earlier video. It reminded me to get a fresh tube for summer bites. This is the best one I've used, I think the oatmeal in the mixture helps. I know oat works especially well for my sensitive skin. Thank You!
I’m from Houston area and I moved too! During the power outage! Our new place had power come on Tuesday after the storm, but we had started our move during the power outage and it was hard in the heat. We still aren’t done, bc also moving our business inventory. It’s been hard. God came through though 🙌🏼

I feel ya! I’m down in Clear Lake City and my skin got unhappy with all the heat, sweat, humidity, stress, and hurricane snacking. Trying to make up for it as we just got power back.

My friend lives in Friendswood, suburb of Houston, she moved from PA to be near her boys. Her first time experiencing this kind of weather. Not too much damage and she did get power back and has two dogs and two cats also.

Super glad that you are doing okay! This one was rough indeed. Love your version of story time because the others 'sound' fake whereas this was a conversation with a friend. I invested in a small camping fan that that a light and can allow you to charge your phone for like 40 bucks from Amazon. Lasted us many days and on the lowest speed was great. For mosquitos I recently randomly discovered Clay! I am allergic to mosquitos and swell badly itching for weeks. I apply a little regular clay from a face mask and no itching or swelling and redress subsidies in a day !

Glad your okay! Would have communicated earlier but I came down with 24 hour bug but recovery has been slow. Feeling mildly better. Love the lace shower curtain and the eye patches.
I will never move to Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida or Alabama. I lived one year in Arizona, and that was enough heat and humidity, when the monsoon hit. I also had 4 days with no air conditioning in July at 114 degrees heat. I am not a desert fan anymore 😂 I am glad you’re safe Dr. Dray, it does make you very appreciative of the basic necessities like water and electricity.
