Hey Dr. Dray! Something I really like about your videos and channel in general is your informational, no nonsense approach. As a long time viewer, I prefer the talking head style lectures you give. I find the new editing style and quick cuts to be distracting from all the great things you have to share.
I agree, it was hard to focus when watching and actually made me dizzy. I couldn’t make it through the video.
I tell all my friends to watch Dr. Drey! You don’t have to spend hundreds on skin care! I really enjoy watching your videos 😆👍
Agreed - I get a sense it’s being done because people skip? The chapters in the videos is what I think most people are looking for, rather than it being boring
agreeing with the many people who miss your usual way of making content, i love to see you speak move your hands, face expression, one camera angle, is very honest and makes it easy to follow. With this editing i go into fight or flight , and that yes that my cortisol will spike 🤪
Cortisol levels up watching new screen changes every 5 seconds. 😊 Switching to listening only.
I don't like it either. All those images are not helpful at all. They are irritating.
Blue light does too esp after sundown
That’s funny
I don’t like to be critical because I really enjoy all of your videos, but the extra photos, etc are distracting. I had to set the phone down and just listen.
Yeah something tells me your pants are on 🔥
the editing is giving me a headache i hope the plain editing comes back:(
💯
Shut up then go watch someone else.. I enjoy it. 😊
@@christinahaskett120 ok thanks grandma 🙏🏼
I just want to say that I don’t mind the editing at all. Thanks for the info!
Maybe I will get used to it, but I think I like your old format better.
Fun story - your cortisol levels are directly tied to your circadian rhythm. I once was starting to have problems sleeping with my job that had no windows/only fluorescent lighting (problem #1 for sleeping). L-Theanine is known that it may help reduce cortisol levels so I decided to try and see if it would help reduce my stress at work. Problem is - your cortisol is supposed to be at its highest mid-morning and I was taking l-theanine right as I would get to work at 8am. It REALLY screwed up my sleep schedule - like by Weds night I wouldn't sleep at all til the weekend. Luckily I am able to get outside more now and use red light and infrared sauna for better sleep.
I sleep deeply. Dream even. My cortisol is high. Don’t drink alcohol. 19% BMI. No chemical intake of any kind. Infared sauna, HIT exercise, resistance training. Neurological chiropractic care. I don’t know what else to do
Please go back to your old style of content. I much prefer just looking at you like an instructor than spliced in images. I find it very disruptive.
Loved the tips. Keep being you. ❤
can you reduce the movement of video, it s disturbing
we need calm things pls
i listen to you before sleeping
I have also read that doing household chores at least for one hour work as well if we don't have time or money for the gym etc 😊❤ plus we get all sorts of benefits like organizing and keep record of our stuff. Thanks Doctor Andrea for giving us tips ❤.
chores are a great way to destress and save $$
We got to a point where people need to be told that 1-2 alcohol beverages a DAY is enough. If you feel like you need to drink every day, it's already a problem.
Honestly, this feedback is PERFECT for neurodivergent people. Especially us autistics tend to think in super binary all-or-nothing ways, where we HAVE to do things perfectly or it's incredibly stressful (to be fair this is also common in ADHD with perfectionist tendencies), so reminding us that baby-steps and minor changes are just as valid, and often more long-term, than just jumping into an entire lifestyle overhaul. Saving this video under Favorites to rewatch later. ❤
Indeed!
As a person with ADHD I totally agree!!
Please, please bring back the old editing style. I love your videos and have been following you for a while but this is stressful to watch.
They say phones are bad to have in your bed but honestly I fall asleep listening to shows on CZcams. I’m out within minutes even if I want to stay awake to listen to it.
Really wonderful advice here. It's honestly a breath of fresh air - the focus on adding things to your diet rather than just taking food away, the cautioning against extremes, the parts about doing what you can to increase movement and stick to a schedule for going to bed & getting out of bed rather than stressing over achieving a specific number of steps/hours of sleep, and so on. Very reassuring and refreshing.
I enjoy your videos so much Dr. Dray. You are a delightful and refreshingly down-to-earth person. I'm 61, live in Tulsa, and come from a family of physicians (father was an endocrinologist). I appreciate good medicine. Thank you for acknowledging those of us who get stressed out over trying to meet "standards" for sleep and other health metrics. Prior to getting a Fitbit, I always felt pretty good about my fitness. I'm very active every day, enjoy gardening & dog training among a variety of many diverse activities. Once I got my fitbit I became worried about my step count. I started giving up activities I love in order to walk and get my step count up. I was forcing myself to get 10k steps per day but wasn't enjoying it. I felt guilty if I missed a day. It took me some time to chill out again and realize that as long as I was moving my body- using muscles and enjoying myself- I was doing great! Your advice about doing a little extra here and there actually got my step count up quite a bit... now I will break into a quick sprint with my dogs in the yard or run up and down the stairs a few times. BTW, in another vlog you were talking about not being ready to purchase a printer. I was in the same boat. I finally bought a very small, basic black and white laser printer at Best Buy for $75. It is soooo fast and simple, with excellent print quality. I've had it for 3 years and the laser cartridge it came with is good for 2,000 + pages. Takes up very little space and no ink to mess with. If I want color, I go to a print shop. Take care and stay cool.
You are such a great role model. I watch and appreciate all your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Dr. Dray you’re my favorite content creator
Dr. Dray, this new format of editing really doesn't suit you girl. I love your no-nonsense approach that you do on the daily. Regardless love you and your content ❤🎉
Dr. Dray, I prefer your face than these images. It’s distracting but thanks for the useful information
Indeed
Thank you for such an excellent video filled with very valuable and practical advice.
As a coffee-lover, it was hard to reduce consumption, but noticed dropping to one cup a day and no caffeine after 11 helped with energy and sleep. The basics always work, good nutrition, proper hydration, take a walk and stick to a bed time schedule. I also reduced screen time (especially the news) at night.
Excellent video. I really enjoyed it.
Much needed one! Have a great day dr. Dray! ❤
You too!
i stopped coffee completely. now i do tea with milk every morning. i feel sooooo much better
Hi Dr. Dray.. please consider doing a comparison video on led panel vs led mask.. also please do a summer specific updated morning and evening skin care routines…
Yes 👍🏻 those are both ones i’d love to see too. How are red light panels so far away doing anything significant.
Yes, please! I' m determined to buy a LED device but I just trust her.
Happy Monday, Dr. Dray ❤
Happy Monday
Thanks so much for this information. I found it interesting and helpful. Happy Monday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a peaceful evening. 💕
This video popped up when I came to the realization that I have cortisol problems manifesting as hypervigilance, muscle tension, lethargy, and my skin being an absolute wreck.
Thanks so much. Easy to follow! :D
Hi!! Would you consider making a video about Amazon basics skin/body care? Thanks for the video!!
much needed topic discussion 🙌🏼 thanks Dr. Dray!! 💜🥰
Thanks for watching!
Happy Monday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Coffee makes me happy, but I only drink it in the morning. Thank you for all the brand/flavor recommendations! Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
Thanks for the great information! 🥰
I can see you put a LOT of EXTRA CREDIT WORK on your video. Well done!! Looks good!!
I love this new concept of your video, it keeps me focus. Thank you!

Oh no! Not more of the chaotic video editing
Great advice on sleep instead of the usual get 8 hours every single day when it is far from realistic for most
I'm one of those who used to track my sleep daily, it turned out counter-productive because I became hyper-fixated on it. My whole life became about metrics, closing my rings, getting my 8 hours. Something that was supposed to bring health became a major stressor in my life.. these days, I get 5 hours some days, 6 on some, 8 on good days, and I am happier just letting it be. ..
I like the tea set behind you. Can you do a video on tea and the skin?
Hello Dr Andrea !!
I needed this right now ❤😊
thanks for watching
@@DrDrayzday ❤❤❤
Thank you doc. Working on all of these right now. Hoping you’re right about “small” changes 👍🏼
I've been watching your wonderful, informational content for years and have loved to see your growth, but the new visuals are distracting. The text is okay, but all the zooming in and random b-roll and clips...it's too much
i like when you delve into more general health topics and not just skincare. How about a video on NAD supplements for anti-ageing?
I have a video on NAD supplements
Such a great video! Thank you so much for making this
Great information! 🙏
How did you know I was going through the most stressful time of my life? Thank you ❤
She is right about the vegetables, they contain a lot of potassium and you do need your electrolytes to feel good (magnesium, potassium, salt)
Great video! Upping the veggies definitely helps skin moisture. I miss living near this healthy buffet Chefs Table, I’d get roasted sweet potato, & cabbage salad with slivered almonds, shredded kale in lemon olive oil dressing. It’s hard to make that kind of variety at home for one. Now that it’s summer need to hit Whole Foods buffet & figure out a good food prep to increase veggie entrees at home.
Dr. Dray, your skin looks amazing! It's so illuminated!!! :)
Thank you! Always so good and helpful ❤️
Thanks for doing this video! I keep seeing ads on ig that “your costisol is high” and “drink this to lower cortisol” and it’s so confusing and idk what to do ever 😢😂
Really, really helpful video.
This is the first video I’m watching and I love the cut-a-ways. I see too many comments against it. It helps me stay focused versus just staring at you talking. Lol! ❤
Not that you're asking for feedback, but I prefer your talking head videos vs. this type of edited video. I find it distracting, personally.
I agree...
Same! I even miss the days of her sipping on a cup of coffee while talking to us.
I also agree!
Oh no a weird new look. Prefer the regular videos.
I like this better
Thanks Dr. Dray!
Thanks Doc, I needed this.
Dr. Dray! Love your videos and this is a topic I wanted to hear more about. I did find the editing and visuals on the first third of this video a bit overwhelming and distracting. The stock videos are fine, though you can use them more sparsely (that way you don't need to find as many!) The motions and animations can definitely be dialed back a bit. Don't get me wrong - I appreciate whenever people put effort into the stylistic aspect of their work, and it's awesome to see you experiment and get better as a content creator, so I thought viewers' feedback can be helpful for that!
I understand from your point of view, just footage of you talking might seem dry and uninteresting, but I promise you your channel and videos are adored for their no nonsense, unfiltered nature :) Many of us are here to learn, and we don't mind a simple podcast-style lecture - plus, less work for you on the editing!
AMEN!!!!!!
I’m not a fan of the editing style, it’s too distracting. I can’t even watch the video.
Agreed
These are all great tips and explained really well. I have cortisol problems and can’t have any caffeine. If I really crave coffee, I have one small cup of decaf in the morning.
I can listen, but I can't watch. 😅
It's so good to hear from you again and about such a relevant topic. Thank you.
I like this edit style
Instead of ai footage, i prefer notes on screen while still displaying your face talking.. so we can get the important things of your talk if we missed out while getting things or doing something else while listening to your podcast.. ❤
Rule of thumb when using B-roll: Only use it when it adds clarity to your video. In this case, it’s not necessary. In fact, some of the shots don’t even match your VO. Not good.
Sleep anxiety is very real, thank you for pointing that out! all the advices about sleep stress me out. ''YOU NEED TO HAVE 7-8 HOURS OF SLEEP PER NIGHT OTHERWISE...'' how is that helpful?
Cortisol gets a bad rap but it is necessary to live a healthy life
Don't worry about the haters on trying new edits. I like that you're trying new things. Overall, I'm okay with cutaways. There were a lot of them. Maybe a balance; or, having them show in a corner while still getting to see your face.
How are they being haters when they're telling her that they like her just the way she is? 🙄 😒Newsflash Brad - a person is not a hater JUST BECAUSE they disagree with someone. It takes a combination of jealousy and distain to be a hater as well and there's no evidence of that in the comment section!
But I will say this, this is just one more reason why non-brown and non-beige people need to stop trying to use African-American vernacular English (AAVE). Because they will almost always either incorrectly use the word, overuse the word or BOTH. So please "Brad" just give it a rest!
@@MakeWay4CJ A person is allowed to try new things without being blasted like some of those folks were doing. If someone wants to say constructively their preferences, by all means; however, doing so like some of them as assholes is uncalled for.

Always enjoy your videos and no issue with the editing but the visual of pimples growing was hilarious and horrifying at the same time. 💀😭 xx
The distracting editing sucks
Hi Dr. Dray. Is Vitamin d3 cream good to treat and remove Seborrheic keratosis?? Thanks
Hi Dr. Dray, what are the symptoms of too much cortisol? Can a lot of anxiety raise cortisol levels?
what’s up with editing in latest videos 😭😭😭
I mean, no offense but it is painful to watch
No it isn't. It's definitely a you problem
@@moonstrukk126 ‘definitely’? r u sure? if you read other comments, I’m not the only one who noticed that.
@@Miki-hn5gv Yes. The doc seems to attract a certain type of ungrateful, entitled human. There are way more of you than I ever imagined. It's quite alarming actually. It's incredibly ungrateful really. I also saw a ton of people who were just happy for her efforts and expertise which she offers freely. This seems to mirror life, the more generous the soul, the more likely it is to attract entitled, hyper critical types.
Just let that marinate
@@moonstrukk126 are you kidding? why do you consider this ‘ungrateful’? adequate critique is a growth factor for any person and there is nothing wrong about it. If you think the other way that I have bad news for you.
and the thing is, in newer videos the editing returned to normal, so she is really in touch with her audience and I really appreciate it
How to stress people out. Tell them not to be stressed.
I've read that chamomile tea helps reduce cortisol, seems a harmless option to try as long as you don't have ragweed allergies.
Thank you.💖🙏🏽
thanks for watching
Idk if you want feedback, but I think the editing is jarring because there’s sooo many cuts and there doesn’t seem to be a cohesive style between the images, texts, and clips. I think scaling back on some of the effects might also help. I found this hard to watch even though I love your content ❤
Editing is hard though and it’s always great to evolve and try something different. I think this style is prob more suited to short form content but that’s just my two cents!
How many ounces is that one drink? That’s very important information. Great timing! I start a new job tomorrow.
Depends on the type of alcohol. The national institute on alcohol abuse and alcoholism, has a list of standard drink sizes.
@drdray I'm always curious when these conversations come up, do they still apply to people with ADHD in the same way? I don't find caffeine stimulating, i don't even find my prescription stimulants stimulating 😂 i can and have fall back asleep not long after taking them and drinking a bucket of caffeine. I also frequently find that the longer i let myself sleep (constantly tired and can sleep for 10-15 hours at the weekend without even waking up to go to the toilet) but i usually feel terrible after. When i only sleep 4 hours which often is the case during the week, i initially feel terrible when i wake up but then seem to be more alert during the day? Its confusing. I know not having a regular pattern is bad but i can't seem to implement one at all, my body clock always seems to be all over the place. I have read that ADHD affects sleep and also causes you to be more drawn to stimulant's (caffeine, nicotine etc) because they work differently for us than most people and I'm never sure if that means traditional advice will be as beneficial 🤷🏼♀️
Happy Monday! I hate to join those that don't like this style of video but I am. You are wonderful and give your channel personality. That AI generated stuff, doesn't. I had my adrenal glands shut down when I got a hysterectomy. I was on cortisone for 8 years before my endocrinologist weaned me off successfully. That was not fun. Have a great day!
Thankyou very helpful
I prefer the head videos, I think that is your trademark and help me focus on the topix.
I prefer the Dr Dray talking head videos too - not that anyone was asking.
Thank you for the informative (and timely, for me) content. I started tamoxifen in April and lasted about 3 weeks before it completely destroyed my sanity: constant hot flashes, night sweats and sleeplessness. Before this I could sleep a solid 7 hours. I always prioritized sleep because of a maternal history of Alzheimer's, so I know the importance of it. But I'm 51 and have to take tamoxifen (and later aromatase inhibitors) for the next 5 years and I don't know what to do because the pills are destroying me -- I could only sleep about 2 hours at a time, constantly waking up and taking forever to go to sleep again. I've tried melatonin and natural herbal pills but nothing works. I know I should give the pill a few months to get used to, but those 3 weeks of insomnia were brutal and I worried about my brain health. :(
The editing, the stock images and video, is very, very irritating. I tend to not watch channels with all that fake imagery.
Love your videos..could you do a video on hands.. the care of hands
Very helpful information. Regarding the video itself, I like having some of the added visuals (like lists) but not so many unnecessary photos of random people. Like all of life, balance is important. 😊
great video, thank you! i miss your closing music though, please bring it back. i do a little dance to it every day. :)
Ian not sure why you’re doing this funky editing but the snowfall has to go! Please…
