Broken oil suction manifold
Broken oil pump orings
Broken oil pump
Main bearing damage

36 mm oil filter socket
1/2 drive short extension
13 mm socket
1 inch wrench
15/16 socket
15/16 wrench
5/8 socket
3/8 drive impact gun
1/2 drive impact gun
2 bottle Jacks

That is so cool you caught that moment when you identify the defective part on film. I had oil pressure fall to red light at running temperature. No new o-rings, so stealership made me buy same (entire) OEM suction device. USD $700 parts and labor. Now I will keep my eye on that PSI to prevent bearing and crank shaft damage if it fails in the same way. (2012 DD15 1mill mi. ) Thank you Francisco!!!
Same thing happened to me. Exactly the same peace of the original oil suction manifold broke off on mine right at 505000 miles, right after the warranty expired. It got towed In to the closest dealership in Seattle. Luckily for me, just like in this case, nothing got overheated. They replaced the main bearings, manifold, rings ets. Later I found out that my year of Cascadias had a recall on that manifold just a week prior, so Freightliner end up picking up the bill for me, which was around 4500 not including the tow bill. So I'm happy that at least I didn't have to pay that bill. On the other hand maybe my engine should have seized, so they replace the whole engine for me :)

This isn't an isolated incident. I had the same part break in the same way. This is the newest version of the oil suction manifold so good luck everyone.
how do you know this is the newest version? both first and second versions look same. however they have different part numbers. Detroit says suction cup is now thicker, different glue is used on latest version.

Francisco que tan frecuente se debe cambiar el succionador de aceite y los sellos para evitar que se pueda blóquelo motor y si la pump de aceite también se tiene que cambiar frecuentemente con el módulo o no.?

I’m having the same problem and the Mecanic saying I need to replace engine. The block is worn out and can’t get pressure from the bottom. I don’t know if he’s right but I can’t find a good mechanic.
If Fransisco doesn't answer to where his shop is than we have to hunt him down for the quality work soooo we call nationwide in Ontario Ca
which he stated is a good friend of his. Hopefully we will get info to where he is.

Fransico, I have a DD15 and I was having the low oil pressure problem. I changed the oil pump, oil pump manifold, O - rings. When I start the truck it still stays at 0 oil pressure until the truck warms up to 150 degrees. Can you give me a idea what else might be my problem after changing out all those parts?

Bro what was the part number of suction manifold ? Was it the updated latest one ? I know first version of plastic manifold were bad and Detroit called back many engines.

Frank en estos momentos tengo ese problema check engine on no precion aceite puede ser el sensor o que puedo acer la computadora del truck me enseña que tiene precion y cando abre el ensendido lee todos los relojes..

Seeing if u can help me put have a 2013 cascadia new oil pump and new oil pressure sensor but still reading 0 oil pressure...
When I apply the brakes my red engine light come on and low oil pressure is on the dash. It happens only when I apply the brakes at a moderate level. It always goes away after few seconds. What could be causing this?

Replace it as soon as you can.
