This is it. 5 hours back and forth on my bike and the internet trying to figure this out. I had no idea the spokes could make that sound. Thank you!
Yes they come loose over time. Ride safe.
The video may not be as good quality as others but it was educational and very helpful, thank you so much 🙏🏽
OMG THANK YOU, I WENT TO THE SHOP AND SPENT £60 JUST FOR IT NOT TO BE FIXED AND NOW IT ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THANKSS
my fat tire eBike has about 1200 miles on it and I started noticing weird sounds coming from the rear a few weeks ago. After eliminating several possibilities, i was beginning to suspect it was bad bearings or motor and was NOT happy. so thankful to have stumbled onto this video. i didn't think my spokes felt terribly loose, but after snugging them all up with a 9 dollar spoke wrench.... voila ! noise is gone. thank you !
Glad this was able to help. Ride safe!
I got this same issue! Looks like I need to snug up the spokes!
Thank you! confirmed my suspicion about loose spokes and it's now resolved.
I never comment on anything but had to give you a shout-out. THIS video saved me from going insane and tearing apart my entire hub. Loose spokes was the answer! Cheers to you!
Glad this has helped you out. Ride safe.
Me too thanks sooo much!!!
The money we paid we shouldn’t have to do nothing. I got the same problem with mine.
I have a grizzly v3 and it’s making the same noise rear wheel and now I know what it is thanks man!
Yes!! This was the fix! So glad I found this vid - THANK YOU!! 🙏🏽
Awesome, glad this worked out for you.
Thank you so much...gonna try this later. This noise had me absolutly baffled
thanks for the simple and easy tutorial
I finally found the right video! I all set now. Thanks!
Dude you're amazing. Thank you
Thank you that is the same sound my bike is making and will tighten them. Made it much easier as I thought it my be the bearings in the motor but it is probably the spokes....
Exactly the sound i am hearing i was about to return the bike thanks man was very fristrating ..
Thanks for your diagnosis and solution. I have a slight clicking noise when just using the throttle on a stand. Will check and make sure all my spokes are tight. Followup: I checked for loose spokes and all the nuts on the non-drive side of the wheel were loose. Tighten them all up and the clicking sound went away. Guess the loose spoke nuts was an accident getting ready to happen.
Fantastic, glad you were able to get it fixed
Thank you so much, I thought it was my tires. Appreciate you sharing this with us.
Glad this video was able to help
Thanks it solved the problem which annoyed me for a month took it to some repair shops but still wasn't resolved thanks again
Glad it was able to help you. Ride safe.
I thought it was my bearings but this is exactly the problem that I have. Thank you!
Ride safe
Thanks man!! I had this issue and couldn't figure out where was coming from. I got it fixed now:) Btw nice ebike which motor has it on?
1000watt
thanks for this video! When did you start noticing the sound? I've only had my bike for a week or so but I will be looking out for that noise and fixing it in the future!
Notice the sound about 100 miles on the ebike and it was progressively getting worse so I've took those steps to diagnose the problem.
I have the same problem. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for this!
Its why any minor issue of changes can lead to these trouble shooting moments which is a annoying if it leads into more. Even messing with a bikes frame drop out bars to fit in wheel hub as doing that of just a minor hammer out of a millimetre, it will warp the rotation that leads to breakdown and notice many users doing this of their set up videos. You always have to be on inspection mode constantly to be on top of these issues to save the motor. Im always listening to anything that sounds or rides a bit odd.
I’ve got an Ariel Grizzly, dual motor.
The seat was torture! Like sitting on a railroad track, so I replaced it.
I am having the same issue on my ebike with only 200 miles. If I push the thumb throttle there is no noise other than the motor. Once I pedel the clinking noise appears. I thought it maybe the spokes, some appeared to be loose but not by much. I will buy the spoke tool to see if that works. I hope that is all it is.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing...
I just got my double wall rim and cassete trued after a week i noticed the noise on the spokes but thx for this I will fix it soon
Glad this will help. Good luck and ride safe.
Thank you brother
Nice Bike too.
I had that exact problem I watched a couple of videos and came across yours and I went to a bike shop and bought that same spoke tightener for $3 I used it and my spokes don't have no more noise I keep it in my pocket with me everyday now good looking out
Glad you were able to fix it
THANK YOU
I get a clicking noise only when I'm going top speed on my ebike, when going slow there's no sound what so ever ,any ideas
Definitely fixed it, but now my wheel is a bit wobbly! Men I can't seem to true it now
Great job!
spokes they will loosen again without intervention they failed to build wheel with spoke prep which is a type of thread locker
feels good
I just discovered this was happening on mine as well. I removed the rear reflector, adjusted the brakes, and then realized quite a few spokes were loose. My spoke key comes today, yea!
There's a lot of vibration in riding these ebikes so I think all parts on the ebike would require periodic tightening.
@@electrifyus Yeah, I was figuring the shipping may have been the culprit... and I somehow didn't check the spokes when I got it 2-3 weeks back. At least I know now, it was making me crazy! :D
Glad you will have your tool soon and get it fixed. There are a lot of videos on here on how to tighten and true your wheel. Good luck!
My (Lectric XP 2.0 received yesterday) does this, only while in 2nd gear, while I am pedaling.
If it's only in second gear check your adjustments on the shifter.
Unfortunately for me this wasn't the case i lifted up the wheel and the noise persists i took it to the shop and they said its the nylon gears inside the motor must've gone bad says only last 1-2 years the nylon gears grinding and from the speed heat up melting it over time
Exactly what I thought too! I have no idea what truing a rim has to do with the motor. They both sound exactly the same in the before and after video.😂
i had this exact issue on my x class after i fell down the stairs with lol, i guess its common.
Wow! I think all the mail order manufacturers recommend you have a bike shop check out your bike before the first ride and at 100 miles. The bike shops all sell spoke tools cheap too, because inexperienced people thinking they can do it themselves often need expensive wheel repairs later. Please be careful with that spoke tool.
It is common knowledge you need to tighten spokes on a hub motors.
When i build a ebike for someone I always balance the wheels and use Loctite on spokes.
Before even putting the wheel on.
Most e-bike builders on CZcams don't even bother doing the first thing.
They think it's plug and play.
Great idea using loctite.
Where’d you get those pegs?
They came with the bike
Thumbs up & have a great day
Thank you, have a great day to you as well.
Mine makes that exact noise but only when i put on rear brake ????
I would check your rear brakes. Maybe you need new brakes.
That's why i avoided spoke wheels and got mag wheels instead cause of this same issue..but good video tho.
I'm having a click sound and can't figure out where it's coming from... It only happens when I'm on the bike. Sounds like a spray can is on my bike
Check out the my video with the rear wheel is making noise. The spokes might be loose. Good luck
Mine would go eeeeeeemmmmmm
My trike is doing this
If you don't feel comfortable tightening those bolts take it to the bike shop.
can't you just tighten it with some pliers?
I suppose you can, but you risk damaging it.
When you buy a bike like this, you shouldn’t have to worry about this noise
WD40 where the spokes cross cured mine
Wd40 is a temporary fix
Same problem.... Dumb me 🤫
I would have a trued by a professional. You could really mess it up and cause the brakes to wear prematurely. It's not a walk in the park to true rims
Absolutely, if you could than do so, but some people don't have that option. I on the other hand, am a tinkerer. I like figuring things out. So when I'm out and about if something goes wrong I'm able to hopefully fix and get back on the road.
Sounds like we are one in the same. Ebike riders can also have their rims trued at a motorcycle shop as well
Often, it's not so much getting the wheel trued, as just tightening a spoke or two. If that throws your wheel out of true, then maybe seek a pro. But if you can find the loose spoke and snug it up, you're only improving the integrity of the wheel system.
It’s not rocket science. Also no it’s not just tightening your door hinges. Wheel truing is possibly one of the most satisfying maintenance tasks you can learn.
Very good, useful video 👍
Thank you
