    Loose cassette also makes lot of rattle on downhill.

    At the first sign of a rattle or annoying noise, new bike day. 😂

    Prior to me eBike i bought a cheap carbon stump jumper with a squeak on the pedal stroke. I thought it might have been the Ti saddle rails, i have had this before which is normally cured with some cooper grease between the rails and alloy seat post saddle clamps. It wasnt unfortunately, after checking all the suspension bearings and crank/BB, it turned out to be the mech hanger bolt was loose in the frame. A bit of arrodite glue later and the captive nuts was now firm in the frame and all was good for many years of riding.

    Dang that bike looks just like mine. Both wife and I have Specialized Levo SLs. My frame is alloy and hers is carbon fiber. Motor noise resonates more in her frame. But, both bikes are still reasonable for sounds.

      Nice bike, Bill! Hearing slightly more noise from a carbon bike is perfectly normal. Aluminium is slightly better at absorbing vibration. 👍

    Seat mounting rails making a creaking noise. A couple of drops of super glue down each of the rail entry points into the plastic seat case. Do one end and allow the penetrate and dry then flip it and do the other end. Give it over night to fully set and no more annoying creak.

    Sheared off the threads of the bolt that holds the battery on my 2019 Levo. It seems like there is still some solid material embedded inside the hole. I was thinking to buy a rethreading bit and try to force it clean but I am somewhat concerned that I might just rip of the entire thing and ruin the whole battery. Any suggestion on how to successfully clean that out?

    When my YT Decoy was new I got a creak that would sound when I was pedaling the crank. I even called YT tech support and they told me to clean and re-grease the suspension pivots. I did but...Nope!.. It still creaked. I was cleaning and polishing the bike with foaming motorcycle cleaner/polish to keep it new and shiny but all that polish residue was apparently attracting trail dust just enough to cause the creaking. I started just hosing it slightly and wiping down with a rag and the creaking went away.

    Regarding creaking motor bolts its sometimes not enough to just retighten. You may need to remove them, drop the motor, clean the bolts and all surfaces that contact the bolts, then regrease and reassemble.

      That's true. Sometimes it's best to give everything a good clean out. Dirt can get everywhere! 👍

    Could you please do a video on the different EMTB specific tyres like Schwalbe,Michelin, maxis etc and which is best for winter riding and summer riding as there is so many options its hard to know which is best at different times of the year and possibly a good all year tyre.

    Hi, I have a noise, more like a vibration from my Bosch Performance CX motor only when I pedal at around max speed but with low force, like when I'm cruising I feel a wobbling/vibration when pedaling. Does anyone know what may be the cause?

    • @SimonBauer7
      @SimonBauer7 Před rokem

      this may be the internal gears of the motor. my yamaha pw motor is als loud as heck. doesnt reduce longevity. some are loud some are not loud.the higher the motor rpm the louder it is. just how the gears work. if you dont have warranty anymore you could try and grease the inside of the motor more.

    • @richardkaz2336
      @richardkaz2336 Před rokem

      If you're using detergent or degreaser and spraying water directly are the crank shaft (BB). Then you have probably washed the grease out of either side crank bearings and they are rusted and stuffed.
      When you replace the bearings remove the rubber seals, flush the grease out with clean solvent, dont spin the bearing or contaminate with any dust or crud. New bearings are usualy filled with little more that petroleum jelly (vaserline)> Repack the bearings to 75-80% capacity with a lithium base marine grease and snap the seals back in place and install the bearings.
      packing the bearing to 80% is not a problem as they are not run at high RPMs and not likely to ever get hot unlike an elecric motor spinning at 1500-3000 rpm.
