This is the best video I have seen on replacing this part thank you.
You sir are awsome! Love the video gotta swap my gasket out on mine too
The link for manual calibration doesn't work anymore.
Best video for that part
Great video brooo thanks for the advice
Iâm glad I could help!
Did you not need a secondary gasket or just one for the shaft
Great thumbnails, theyâre always so cool!
Thank you đ€
Can that leak oil if it hasnât been replaced in a while
And what happens if you donât tighten with the 4mm Allen key? Does it self adjust? Or not? Can it get damaged?
Yes you have to seat it with the Allen first. As soon as you feel any tension at all stop tightening
Yo I thought you would need to torque the bolts attaching the valvtronic motor to the engine? Iâve heard ppl saying around 7ft/lb
yes you do, theyâre very light. once theyâre snug give it a little hand torque, itâs nothing ubsurd
What if the 2 black screw T30 threads are stripped any recommendations?
maybe try to use an extractor very carefully
maybe try to use an extractor very carefully
The link for the calibration doesnât work
I didn't know i was supposed to adjust the allen screw before removing. I just unbolted the motor and it popped off from the tension. How bad did i screw things up and what should i do for the reinstallation process? Thank you
youâre good man! I did that as well. as long as you donât do it over and over, youâll be fine
Thanks brother đ
Hi mate if your car running in limb mode can be valvetronic motor problem?
It could be, yes. Also eccentric shaft
Mine also went into limp mode after removing to replace gaskets i dont have a scan tool how can i get it out of limp mode?
replace it correctly? If so do the Valvetronics reset without the scanner:
Insert the valvetronic motor and connect its 2 pin plug. Then switch the ignition onto position 2 and within a space of 15 seconds, depress the accelerator pedal down to full throttle 10 times and you will hear the valvetronic motor program itself back to factory spec.
This should fix it, start the car and let it idle in place 5-10 minutes.
If still not working unplug and re-plug the battery and try the steps above again.
I replaced valve cover gaskets but I did not use the Allen key to turn back to valvetronic motor or to install it back in.. my engine starts and dies..now I bought the scanner to relearn but still same stars and shuts off.. any suggestions?
use the allen key, then try again
hey man, i am having the exact same issue as you right now. Did you end up finding a solution? please let me know! thank you
@@kylesmith8568 hey bro my issue was that I had not installed the air filters box to the air flow sensor hose. I tried starting it with all that air filter box off.
I tried the recalibration process manually but still nothing
Mine had a puddle of oil in all the ignition coils đ could be that when they did the oil change they didnât hit the mark or the previous owner didnât hit it so I cleaned it and now we wait
Does the veltrinic gasket cuase the engine to run lean and get code P0171 and P0174? My car started to idle a little and these codes came out when I changed the valve cover gasket
It can cause it, yes or the valve cover gasket could be sat incorrectly in a section of it
@@IzzyE9X oh ok..by the way the bolts need to be torqued ? I have a 2006 530i e60
They do but itâs a very light torque, I wanna say 10 ft pounds, so honestly a hand tighten should be good!
@@IzzyE9X because my car started to idle a little and check engine light is on and it marks does codes and also smoke comes out
@@IzzyE9X Iâm not sure what to do next. Because I see oil leaking from the veltrinic motor. Maybe itâs the gasket from the veltrinic or maybe I didnât torque the valve cover gasket enoughâŠ
Having the same issue rn I took out the valve motor and used the allen key but car now just cranks but wonât start
when tightening the motor, be sure to ONLY tighten until there is tension. donât tighten any more/less
@@IzzyE9X did that but even at that I tried to start it and it just cranks I took the motor out and tried the same procedure and still nothing
I had this issue when I first owned my E92. I overtightened the Allen on accident and messed the timing up. The FIX was I used an Allen and kept doing tiny cranks while someone sat in the car and kept attempting to start it. I finally corrected the timing and no issues since. I DO NOT recommend this unless it is a last ditch effort, but it happened to me before.
Check your valvetronics motor, eccentric shaft sensor, VANOS solenoids and ANY codes before attempting what I put above.
If this valtronic gasket is bad Will it have a vacuum leak?
Yes and no. It is possible to leak without any vacuum leak, but a large enough oil leak could result in a vacuum leak.
I'm getting some engine codes that made me think I had a vacuum leak, so I did a smoke test, and I noticed significant smoke coming out underneath the valvetronic. Also, I noticed a small amount of oil sitting underneath. That is why I am wondering if the valvetronic gasket is bad and causing a vacuum leak ( recently, I had a shop replace the valve cover gasket)
Yes I would replace the Valvetronics gasket for sure. It was probably removed and never replaced and if thereâs smoke/oil there, thatâs a pretty good sign itâs leaking.
relearning page for vavletroning dont work and is this for bmw 328xi 2007?
2007 BMW 328, the same N52 engine
vehiclechef.com/bmw-valvetronic-motor-reset/
@@IzzyE9X i always get confused with e90 vs e46 and does xi matter or they all have same engine ? be it Canadian model
@@IzzyE9X thanks for prompt reply and where can one buy them does it matter if i get after market instead of oem? caue oem is way too expensive amazon got cheap one
@@IzzyE9X also i scanned and getting vavltronic code and car sometimes starts and sometimes dont start or may start after few try u think it related to this issue no other code beside vavletronic codes are detected
What if I changed my valve cover and didnât back out the valvetronic motor with a 4mm Allen? Iâm having a very rough idle and Iâm trying to figure out if I need to do a re learn, or take it off and put it back in by screwing the Allen I need help đ
I would definitely do a re-learn and from there start the car and let it idle out for a good while. The N52 has cylinder correction so if you let it run it should correct itself
Iâm running into the same situation at the moment.
@@KidOaKTon hey man did you end up finding a solution to your problem? Im having this exact issue right now
@@kylesmith8568 dude I kid you not went to the junkyard got another valvetronic slapped it on it did the same thing after leaving it on for a bit even tho it was doing the same thing I turned it off and turned it on and I have no idea how but it fixed itself after that I was like yup thatâs the last time I work on a bmw
@@KidOaKTon bruhâŠâŠ welp, thank you man i appreciate it đ Im glad you got it up and running again! iâm determined to have mine fixed in the next 2 days so iâll update here⊠wish me luck
The link didnât work how do I make the car relearn without the obd2 scanner
switch on the ignition
press and hold the accelerator pedal for 15 seconds
listen for the valvetronic motor to complete re-learn
I bought the scanner would you be able to show me how to use it
fk bmws I'm done with it
