    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  Pƙed 2 lety

      replace it correctly? If so do the Valvetronics reset without the scanner:
      Insert the valvetronic motor and connect its 2 pin plug. Then switch the ignition onto position 2 and within a space of 15 seconds, depress the accelerator pedal down to full throttle 10 times and you will hear the valvetronic motor program itself back to factory spec.
      This should fix it, start the car and let it idle in place 5-10 minutes.
      If still not working unplug and re-plug the battery and try the steps above again.

    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  Pƙed rokem

      I had this issue when I first owned my E92. I overtightened the Allen on accident and messed the timing up. The FIX was I used an Allen and kept doing tiny cranks while someone sat in the car and kept attempting to start it. I finally corrected the timing and no issues since. I DO NOT recommend this unless it is a last ditch effort, but it happened to me before.
      Check your valvetronics motor, eccentric shaft sensor, VANOS solenoids and ANY codes before attempting what I put above.

    If this valtronic gasket is bad Will it have a vacuum leak?

    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  Pƙed rokem +1

      Yes and no. It is possible to leak without any vacuum leak, but a large enough oil leak could result in a vacuum leak.

    • @tpac5552
      @tpac5552 Pƙed rokem

      I'm getting some engine codes that made me think I had a vacuum leak, so I did a smoke test, and I noticed significant smoke coming out underneath the valvetronic. Also, I noticed a small amount of oil sitting underneath. That is why I am wondering if the valvetronic gasket is bad and causing a vacuum leak ( recently, I had a shop replace the valve cover gasket)

    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  Pƙed rokem

      Yes I would replace the Valvetronics gasket for sure. It was probably removed and never replaced and if there’s smoke/oil there, that’s a pretty good sign it’s leaking.
