- Just a simple jam using the same piano sample from my last video, choosing different slice points and repitching down slightly to B Minor. Track 1-4 are static machines playing back these slices of the sample. Track 6 and 7 are flex machines looping the internal audio of the octatrack (up and down an octave, respectively). MIDI track 1 is playing Landforms violin and cello by Slate & Ash in Ableton Live, the output of which is sampled in Samplr and played back at one octave up. MIDI track 2 is playing Noire piano at the end.

some of the best soundscaping out there right now
Thanks so much!
another one so soon? It's not even my birthday! ;) You single-handedly keep me reminded to concentrate on the OT and not get distracted by other, more modern candidates with, just as an example, half the track count and painfully limited length sample playback :) Also, it didn't occur to me to play external synths from the OT MIDI tracks live/manually. Wonderful and inspiring work as always!
Haha, consider it a happy early birthday then! Thanks Greg. Really appreciate the kind words. Yes, I’m finding that Octatrack consistently relieves my worst gear temptations. It’s such a rewarding machine.
Beautiful
Thank you
Sublime 👌🏻
Thank you!
I wish there was a Samplr 2.0 such a good app but with new features
It is indeed fantastic. No need to fix what isn’t broken, IMO!
Uff🥵 These final piano like sounds in the end. I am floating! Amazing 🫶🏻
Thanks for listening! I really appreciate the kind words.
wow.. you are it man..
I really hope to see a "how is made..." in substack
🙏
I hope so too! Just need to find some time…
hey Andrew, i heard of you thru the object worship podcast you did. I got an octatrack a few weeks ago and learning its ways. these vids are great and insightful, especially the descriptions so thank you.
are the flex tracks mentioned here playing the sampled audio live and pitching it?
Welcome aboard! Thanks for checking it out. Yes, the flex machines are sampling and pitch-shifting the live audio from the OT.
excellent, new thing for me to try out. look forward to more vids and making my way thru the ones you've put out.
How. doyou sync Samplr with OT?
I sync MIDI clock of Octatrack and all apps to AUM
