New lens review out! SONY 10-18 MM F/4 - czcams.com/video/FGLrI8LkAR8/video.html
Would you say you feel like this lens is "dull" with its focus? Like it's sharp but never mind blowing sharp? Watching your videos then looking at my own photos feels like mine are softer than everything I see here. I have sony a6100 and 18-105 but I need that crispness
Tja, grym video! Tack!
My first ever lens review! Hope you liked it :) I've had this lens for almost 3 years now and I use it for everything - I really love it!
You did a good job, and it's entertaining too
Nice and funny review. How would you compare this with the new (and expensive) Sony G 16-55 f2.8 lens @That Icelandic Guy? And would you consider switching to it?
@@akirahojo2 Thank you guys for watching! I've never had the chance to test the 16-55 f/2.8 - so I can't really answer that question i'm afraid.
Is that possible to control power zoom of this with gimbal?
@@thaticelandicguy haha! The new 16-55mm is the new favorite," Can do everything" lens. That's why everyone is curious about it. F2.8 continuous is what makes it special ( and expensive)
Itâs 2023 and I just now ordered the 18-105 for my FX30. Canât wait to work with it!
I own this lens and i do agree, it's my"i dont know what im going to shoot so I'll just bring this lens" lens. Its always great
hahaha yea love that "i dont know what im going to shoot so I'll just bring this lens" lens. :)
In so short amount of time you became one of my favorite creators. I don't really care about the number of subscribers, your content match channels with millions subs and I am pretty sure you will get there. You are funny, energetic and very creative. I love the quality and information that you put in your videos. Keep it up, so you can continue to inspire many other small creators like myself. Big Respect For What You Are Doing! (From Houston TX, USA)
I like how hes so happy and loves what hes doingđ
Versatile...
that's the word!
VERTASILE
DANGIT MAN!!! English is my first *and only* language and I know the word, but I started tripping over my tongue along with you and I FORGOT how to say it.
I just watched your video I have to say, your good mood is contagious. Such an uplifting energy!
Man , I love your review. So much happiness and excitement without screaming like some of the reviewers. Great general lens too.
i loved this, you made a lens review actually really entertaining and fun to watch unlike a lot of other channels
this review is like the most fun iâve seen so far lol! i didnt really like watching reviews as they can be boring but this review video is just fun to watch. Thank you
Came here for the review, left with knowledge on the lens AND entertainment. On point, informative, and funny.
Why cant all reviewers be the same.
Thanks a lot dude!
Thanks for watching! :) and a great comment !!
You deserve more subscribers!! Loved the way you create your content!! Keep up your best work!! đđŒ
Thank you big time!
I am actually influenced buying this lens as I want to look like I know what I'm doing đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
It's great to look like you know what you're doing lol - builds up that confidence!
Thatâs exactly why Iâm buying it now hahah
I do have this lens and the Sigma 16mm and I love how versatile the 18-105mm is. Perfect for traveling. Sigma is still better in low light situations and sharpness. Thanks for your content!
those two are great combo, have those too! thanks for the comment!
Nice, my question is perfect for you sir. I'm choosing between 16 sigma and 18-105. How do they compare? 16 VS 18?
Youâre the best! I learn so much from you and am super inspired by your excitement for photo/video and and positive attitude. Thanks for being you! (I also like the way you sang, âWhat are the English words?!â Bahaha!)
I really enjoyed the video! Excited to see more lens review videos from you in the future!
thank you! More to come :)
Love this review, I am not really a fan of reviews as I sometimes find them too drawn out and boring, but you kept this very intresting and entertaining which is priceless, I have just purchased the Sony 18-105MM and cannot wait to try it out, thanks again.
Little bit of humor, fantastic energy, great review and thoughts on the lens. Earned a subscriber:)
Loving that energy and humor! You scored another subscriberâ€ïž
Thanks for this great video! I was looking for the right lens for a multi-day hike and I definitely will be carrying this one.
Dude that was so awesome!
Great vid! đ„đ
Thank you!
Love it! Would love to see more reviews from you :)
Thank you Timon! More to come for sure :)
It's hard to believe that I still didn't find any lens with constant or fixed aperture that provides that much of a focal length range. This lens may be more than six years old now, but boy this is my all time favourite lens. Once I've seen any brand come up with similar product like this Sony lens, I definitely wouldn't bother selling it.
Agree 100% it's such a beast of a lens, love love love it!
Subscribed. Why? I like the fun I got while watching you in the video and that you easily explained what you like in this lens. I bought it as my first as well and Iâm trying to get the most from it. Gonna watch more of your videos. Great job!
Awesome, thank you! And welcome to the channel! :)
I've been strongly considering getting this lens and you've made a very good case in its favor. I'll probably be getting it very soon.
I've had such a good time with it, very much like it!
Thank you for your review! I just got the lens as an upgrade from the 18-200 3.5-6.3. Both are great lenses but I think the image quality of 18-105 is superior. Not by much but just enough for me.
Happy you liked it, the lens is awesome! Thanks for watching :)
Funny enough, that's exactly why I clicked on this review; I want to upgrade from the same lens. Would I like to have a constant aperture of 2.8? Of course! Do I want to dish out that kind of cash? Umm...no. So it looks like this will be my next lens. Cheers!
Iâm looking at the 18-105 but I also want to do sports and would like the extra zoom? Any ideas? Or maybe get the 18-105 AND a cheaper option with higher zoom? Thanks.
Ver - Sa - Tile. This review is great because you're clearly having fun describing everything and you make a lot of good points and it's funny. Great Job.
What a good video! Thank you for making this it helps me to make a decision as to which lense I want to get :)
I can approve this message. I've had mine for about 4 months now. I love the constant f4 and the focus ring really moves like butter. Or as I like to say "smooth like buttaaa bby" đ đ
Great review! Much love from GA đȘđż đȘđż
Smooth like buttaaa bbby!!! :D Thanks for watching, truly love this lens!
You are a great photographer and more importantly, super funny! Thanks for being yourself!
My pleasure!!
Iâm thinking of getting this for video but you seem like a chill guy, subscribedđ€đ»
You'll love it, I use it daily! đ
Coolest camera guy i've found on youtube and awesome video! I'm gonna buy this lens, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Hey Icelandic Guy... Like the way you present things :)
Love the energy
Great review! I am thinking of buying a7iii alongside one-for-all lens. This video is a bit old, is it still your favorite lens? I just stumbled upon SONY FE 24-105mm f/4 G which is twice as expensive but looks solid as well. Should probably do much more research, but would love to hear your opinions!
Thanks for ur video, have a better understanding of this Len thought ur review! Good job!
Thanks for watching!
Hey, was wondering do you think this lens would be any use for fast moving objects. Such as surfers. Shooting from inside a water housing and would the images be sharp. âđŒ
Would love to see you review the new sony 16 - 55 f2.8. Your vids are great man!
I've been looking for a used 18-135 but the 18-105 still has me intrigued. As someone with kids and pets how is the ability to quickly zoom in and out by rotating the lens? Does it respond fast?
Thanks.
Hey. Great video. Very entertaining!
Will the power zoom at different speeds also work on a Sony a6000?
Very nice review, thanks. But I wonder now (2021 May) would the Tamron 17-70 F/2.8 be an even better choose for Sony APS-C cameras ...
Just got one of these today this vid convinced me to get one so cheers
Love the review and your personality, and good job with the English!
Thank you so much!
Hey man. Great footage. I was curious if you were doing handheld or had a tripod or some form of stability? I'm probably going to buy this lens but want to know how stable the footage is...
Excellent video, thank you so much!
With the aps-c crop factor of this lens being equivalent to 157mm . Would this lens be good enough to film football from the sideline ?
Nice review,, love your contents..
Great review!
Thanks! :)
Please which Gimbal have you used? Which more compact will you suggest for this lens? thanks, Max
That was my first lens I bought for a6000. Than I had to buy Sony 35mm 1.8 oss and Sony 50mm 1.8oss for low light. Now I have everything what I need to make very good video, and I have to say, when I shoot wedding, 18-105 saves me at many situations when I cant get closer with that primes. So just simply take second a6000 with 18-105 ready on. And I know I can keep calm with that lens :)))
hahahah soooo true!!
Man, you are so funny - very enjoyable to watch! Thank you for this, not boring at all, review!!!
So im kinda new to photography and i have this lens and i would like to know if it's normal when i get a shot sometimes lines are becoming round, distortion
Can't wait to get my hands on one of these one day! I feel my A6300 craving it - or maybe it's just me...
It's both ;)
I also have this lens since September and I LOVE it...best versatile lens for APS-C cameras. I only have a small problem and I can't figure out if it's only my mistake. The photos look too much grainy when you zoom in...do you have the same problem?
Don't have that really. But it's not the sharpest lens. I've noticed that above F/11 it also starts to loose quality.
hello, i have a6000 with kit lenses 16-50 and 55-210 , i find it difficult to use because of zoom range, the 16-50 is wide and 55-210 is tele so im thinking of 18-105 but with no additional budget by selling off 16-50 and 55-210, so will it be a good decision ? thanks
Get the 18135
Thanks for this review! I was on verge of buying Sigma 16/f1.4 and this one but as I am beginner I will go for 18-105 as I just canÂŽt afford to spend all my money for prime lense especially in cases I want to shoot something else but landscape. thanks!
you'll like this lens, super nice, still use it all the time :)
Hi I'm buying the A6400 with kitlens 16-50 and sony 18-105 f4. i want to buy one more lens but I'm confused whether i should go with the sigma16mm f1.4 or the sigma 30mm f1.4.
My use is travel vlogging so what should i choose. Please let me know.
Thank you
Hey man, I shoot music videos on a sony a6300, the main lenses i use are the sigma 16 and 30mm lenses, would you recommend this lens for music video work?
Excellent review and examples man, sold me on it. Haha. Liked and subbed.
Thanks! Really like this lens :)
just ordered mine đ also I see you in the 6 digits of subscribers like next year if you keep it up đȘđđ
you'll love it! Thanks for the pepp!!! Aiming on 100K in 6-8 months for sure :)
Awesome video đ had me smiling all the way through đâŠ.I have a Sony a6400 with a 35mm f1.8 lens, 50mm f1.8 and the kit lens 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 but I go on holiday soon and donât want to take all my lens đą would the 18-105mm f4 be a good all rounder to take instead ?
Subbed too đ
What gimbal do you use with this lens and your Sony camera?
Is it better to buy a Sony 18-105 lens or a Tamron 28-200 for the alpha6000? I know that the tamron has a bigger "shot" but I wonder which one takes better photos at the focal lengths I use most often, around 16-28 and 50-100. I also have a kit for the sony 16-50 and 55-210. I would like to have one lens for everything :)
You now some gadget tool, to use the 18-105 mm in 4K on a sony alpha to eliminate the crop ? Thnx. : )
Thank you, your video was helpful.
Cheers from India đ»
Thank you for the review.
One tip: Separate the syllables: ver-sa-tile
Hey! Love your videos!! I have a quick question. I own 18-105 but im decidin between 18-105 or sigma 16+56mm 1.4... i have glide cam so stabilization isnt that important for me. Thank for your opinion
The 16mm sigma is amazing, never had the 56mm so I don't know.
But hmm, it's a tough question. The prime lenses will be sharper but the 18-105 will cover more focal lengths + no need to change lenses.
it's really just up to you, You will get great cinematic quality from both. What are you mainly filming?
Great job đ„đ„đ„đ„
What gimbal do you use? I have a ronin sc and a Sony a6000 will it fit?
i like your review, so informative, i have a6500, i going to get this 18-105 lense
I've got this lens. It's really good all round lens. Almost always on the camera.
same here! :)
would love to know what other stable lenses you have used for sony a6300!
I bought a6400 body and this lens 18-105mm. Great quality and versatile.
It is! :)
hey.. just got to know about your channel... great videos mate!!! ..always helping me to make my purchases....
I was thinking to buy this lens for both landscape and food photography.. I just wanted to know if you recommend this lens to serve my purpose..??.. I would be more than happy if you reply.đđ
Hey is this camera and lens good for shooting videos as well?
Hi do you recommend this lens for product photography ?
Dude how you pumping out content so fast??? Keep it up!
Thank's Koté! Gotta keep it going! Already make it public to get 5k before 2020 haha
@@thaticelandicguy Love it man!
Hi sir pls reply for me
Which lens is best for photography and videography
18-105 f4 sony
Or
Tamron 18-300 f 3.5-6.3
5:55 some beautiful background blörrrr
Nice video, subscribed.
Thanks u for ur best review
Hello, would you recommend the 18-105 mm F4 to me because I got it from a friend for âŹ300 and need it for photography and filming. I'm torn between the Sony and the Tamron 17-70 2.8
Hey...you did a great job. I won a sony 6400..now looking for a budget friendly and versatile lence. Thnks for your valuable review.
Thank You .. very detailed
great video. I actually enjoyed this. :)
Thanks! :)
I bought this lens because of you.
Brand new, for $373!
I got on sale.
The courier will deliver it to me tomorrow.
Thank you!!
Quite a charming review! How do you find the fly by wire zoom mechanism? This is the only thing that puts me off this lens. But all the Sony zoom lenses have this
Thank you, never had problems with it, I really like it :)
Hi. I have a little loose sound that you can hear if you tilt the lens up and down, its like something is loose inside that makes a little sound... It is only like this when the camera is turned off. When its on there is no sound at all.. Could it be the OSS mecanism that is like this or is the lens might broken? It does work excellent in both movie and photos. Do you have the same thing on your lens?
I acctually have, but I dropped it so hard once. On the pavement, thought it was smashed. But it was totally okay exept for that loose noise started then. But it's deffinitly they OSS or the autofocus because as soon as it's powered on it's off.
@@thaticelandicguy yes it is the oss. thanks for tha answer anyways :)
Dude you are fun to listen to :) subscribed... just a friendly suggestion, you might consider moving back a bit away from the camera and getting a better mic... then itâll be just perfect I think
Hi Icelandic Guy, what is your though between this lens and the 16-55 f2.8 ?
Hey Seba! I've never had the oppertunity to try the 16-55 so I cannot say sorry!
Are those photos edited? Also, what do you use to edit your videos?
Aye! This Viking man is a real man in reviews!!
Great info, Cheers Brah.
Np bre
Is this lens still
Legit in 2023 for a6700 or is there something else
I got the idea... It's a very vertasile, I mean verlasite, no, versatile lens đ. I have got it since I bought my Sony A6000 years ago and it's the lens I carry when wanted travel light. Most of the issues it has can be fixed in post. Nice review.
I know it's been a while since this video! But is this still your go to lens? Feels like this + the Sigma 16mm would cover most grounds?
Yea its still in my backpack at all times and I often use it đ
I've been eyeballing this lens for a long time! I had the 18-135 but it was too soft when zoomed in all the way. Does this one stay consistently sharp throughout the focal range?
Consistent sharp, except for the edges. But at any zoom not as sharp as the sigma 16 for instance
Great video ! Most likely picking one up. Found a used one for approx 300$. Currently using Sigma 30mm F1.4.
Awesome, you'll love it for sure!
Would this work on a a7 iv?
Great video! Would be great if you could put your photo settings next to each shot đ
Thanks! Will do for future videos âș
