    I've always loved the lore in RS3, but I haven't been able to play much since the start of the elder god wars so these new quest videos have been so nice to watch to stay up to date with where Jagex is taking their stories. The whole ironman/maxed ironman playlists were a great binge, but as a lore enjoyer these quest vids are a real treat.

    I would not mind the gods playing a "Role" in the game again, but it should be very indirect. Them playing direct roles (Being there) really just made everything always feel like "...idk why I'm doing this, can't you just snap your fingers to finish it. O I'm here cause I'm the world Gurdian" Guthix really does get the best story line and hes not even "Alive" since the beginning. Always a background character that dies as a way to guide the player.

    I'm probably the only one who saw the similarities between the "Halo 2 Opening Movie" and Succession Final Cutscene.
    It had the same vibe to me.

    Yes, I'm looking forwards to more grounded human or mahjarat level quests.

    The ending of this quest was such a mess structurally.
    Jagex should've just committed to the Falador scene and let it play out entirely before moving to Daemonheim and playing as Moia.
    Constantly jumping back and forth between the two dragged both sequences down.
    I get what Jagex was going for, drawing a parallel between Adrastreia's ascension to the throne and a big celebration versus Moia claiming power by usurping Bilrach, but the player's experience of jumping between gameplay and cutscene makes the sequences clash instead.
    Your offhand comment "Oh my god, she's still singing" wraps it perfectly. The song is actually quite short (and pretty good), but chopping it up into pieces and stuffing another scene into the gaps makes it drag on.

    I mean Andraseta probably got immortality from Daddy so she's probably just waiting until we croak to try to open the god doors again.

    • @emeraldpichu1
      @emeraldpichu1 Před rokem +2

      Although I have to say vengeance is a bit hypocritical all things considered. They or at least their brother chose to be a mercenary for Bilrach and got corrupted by Daemonhime madness and stalked its hauls like a Zombie until their brother's death brought them back to consciousness. How is it the world guardians fault or even the random adventurers hired by the Fremennik that they suffered. You could argue that they were an indentured servant or a slave and that's why they sided with Moia but that's still hardly an excuse for blaming the world guardian for their issues.

      She's his adopted daughter, so her biological parents are still up in the air. Wouldn't surprise me if she was orphaned because Saradomin killed her parents in a fit of rage.

    • @emeraldpichu1
      @emeraldpichu1 Před rokem +1

      @@JustBackgroundNoise Even then immortality is easy enough to grant. Although it does break the question since the knights were acting as stewards for the kingdom until the Royal was deemed fit does that mean that they're just booting that bloodline out of power just because God.

    • @Kranon
      @Kranon Před rokem +1

      Sure immortality is cool but what about the implications?
      Y'know, what if she had something similar to a Zenkai Boost? What if she got stronger from "near death experiences" (like Zilyana), Or did she even specified how immorality works for her? Like, she regenerates? Or what if Moia cuts her head off, will she become just head?
      I mean sure, idk many characters that claim to be immortal, but IDK man, the whole immortality shebang sounds like it could use more thought.

      @@Kranon As explained in the lore those proficient in the manipulation of various arts can extend their lifespan with ease such as the enchanter Charos. For a God it would be easy to extend the lifespan of a mortal indefinitely so long as they're not killed in combat.

    To be fair they could have done the RSMV part better imo like have whatever the sara song she was singing and had some evil epic dark theme for the moia part and maybe add a mini fight that we could have controlled to kill the dude but hey what do I know about making quests lol

    "I must safeguard my people" literally not even related to a single person in Falador in any way shape or form.

    • @JustBackgroundNoise
      @JustBackgroundNoise  Před rokem +1

      She's only recently come to Gielinor as well, right? She's been on Hallow this whole time, I think. Well, except for when she was kidnapped by the Obsidian Tribunal. Not sure how long she was dealing with that. How old is she, even?
      But, to play devil's advocate, she's from Teragard. Humans on Gielinor are from Teragard. So..."related."

    • @cheekyjebus5559
      @cheekyjebus5559 Před rokem +1

      @@JustBackgroundNoise She felt really shoehorned in since she first made her appearance all of a sudden in Extinction (not exactly the time to be introducing that kind of new characters). Not been around long enough for anyone in Falador to even know anything about her. But as the devs can write anything they want, the citizens enthusiastically cheered for her without much reason to. Honestly there were plenty of other long term characters to choose from in Falador that would undoubtedly have the respect and trust of the people. Usually their writing is better than this. Hopefully the next questline is more thought out.

      @@cheekyjebus5559 That's the trouble with monarchy. The entire idea is that the ruling family is inherently special, so even if you don't know who the heir is, you _know_ they're special because they're royal. They're ordained by god or some such.
      When a god actual shows up and picks an heir, it kind of solidifies their claim to the throne, I suppose.
      "We're being ruled by someone handpicked by god himself. This is amazing!" - Saradominists, probably.

    still loving the videos, although gotta say I miss the old style where it wasn't more or less just stream highlights (even though I know those were probably a lot more work for you)

    • @JustBackgroundNoise
      @JustBackgroundNoise  Před rokem

      What's funny is the highlights tend to give me more grief than anything else, mostly because I have no way to re-record something if I don't like it.
      My desire, if I can get my workflow issues sorted out (which is just a fancy way of saying I procrastinate too much), is to make two videos a week. One highlight-heavy and the other more scripted and subject-focused.
      And then there's algorithmic appeasement...That's a whole 'nother kettle o' fish.
