As the owner of chickens, I have spent far too long discussing weird eggs. That last one was a lash egg. You don't want to google it.

While it does in fact look like cell division, double yolks are actually caused by mix-ups in the chicken's reproductive cycle! It usually happens with younger hens because their egg production isn't yet completely in sync. I once had one of my chickens lay an egg without yolk and the other with two!

Buying womens jeans sucks, the sizing is completely random (I demonstrated this to my sceptic boyfriend by buying the same size from 3 Different brands, one huge, one tiny and one fitting but all of them without usable pockets). And the one brand I loved that always fit has now decreased the pocket sizes so I can't even keep my KEYS IN THERE HYARGHHH I hate it so much
I went clothes shopping before school started back up in 2015, and I'll NEVER forget how utterly PISSED I was to find my brand new jeans and their sick zipper pockets were a LIE! A COMPLETE LIE! The zipper was sewn on over NOTHING!

2:41 Actually chickens and other birds can naturally lay eggs like this if they are calcium deficient. One of my ducks has problems with this and often lays these rubber like eggs with no shell.
My Jersey Giant girlie lays one of these everyday. It’s honestly so disgusting but on the same note, she lays two eggs a day, so one of them just doesn’t get enough calcium

Eggs with no shell is a natural phenomenon. It can happen due to a slew of conditions that go anywhere from lack of calcium, to age of the hen, to stress, etc.
One of my ducks has a big problem with this. She’s had a calcium deficiency for about 4 years that we can’t seem to solve no matter how much calcium we give her. She often lays shelllest rubbery eggs so we have started getting her birth control/hormone blockers so she won’t have eggs exploding in her and whatnot.
My hen was lost outside once and rescued herself into the house while we were out looking for her in the middle of the night.
Found her on the staircase shaking and with a shellless egg

As someone who has chickens and ducks I have also seen many strange eggs. I’ve seen double yolks, no yolks, no shell, covered in bumps, all kinds of weird colors, and more! I do love watching the babies and veins develop in fertilized eggs though!

Double yolks has nothing to do with cell division. The yolk is a source of food. Sometimes, there are two in big eggs. Double yolks in jumbo eggs are super common. We had them all the time. And if they weren't double, the lone yolks were really big. Very fun.

I googled, and apparently white egg yolks just means the chickens were eating sorghum instead of corn. Sorghum apparnetly has less of the stuff that makes corn yellow/
Typically it does mean the chickens are unhealthy. The healthier a chicken is, usually the darker the yolk
@@RaphEnthusiastheard that was a myth, the colour is just based on carotenoid content of the chicken feed which based on how much of that they feed them can be pale yellow to straight up red, does not effect the health of the chicken or even taste of the eggs in a blind taste test

The whole egg, whites, yolk, that is not gonna divide, the yolk is a food source to the embryo, the white is embryonic fluid, so keeps the baby hydrated and stuff, there's an air pocket they will go into before hatching. Then there is an embryo that divides, however in store eggs they are unfertilized and you likely will not see the beginnings of a possible baby!
So basically, that's just two yolks in the egg, and I guess the hen had extra nutrients 🤷🏻♀️

His owner was stranded out in Arkansas when his truck went down and he was getting donations to get it back up n running. He's a musician who does charity work and food drives if I recall correctly, it's been a year or so. And the chicken's name is Sanders, named after the Colonel and rescued from a chicken farm.

1:01 for me when I’m not actively eating eggs but instead are thinking about eating them, I envision the egg to not only be raw, but to have a bunch of tiny broken egg shells in the yolk. It hasn’t turned me away from eating eggs but seriously, the mental image is vivid enough for me to taste the grossness.
As an x-homesteader who once cared for 100+ chickens, I can tell you all about weird eggs. The double yoker is usually very large but a fairly common mutation, as is the shelless egg; that is caused by a lack of calcium in you're chicken's diet. So for chicken owners out there be sure to give your hens crushed egg shells or sea shells to keep your eggs nice and strong. Also this is random but my favorite kind of weird egg is the fairy egg (aka "fart egg"), which is caused by the chicken having a really bad day and creating an egg the size of a quarter. Some of them will have green yolks and most of the time they are perfectly round but they're safe to eat, and just adorable. Anyways I'm done blabbering about eggs.
