The bit where Vinny pronounces French words as if they were in Spanish is still going strong I see mdr
Yeah, I moved to Quebec some time ago and am still studying French. I kept correcting him out loud as I watched the video. XD
@@sprybug Hey, welcome to your new home! I wish you the best out here - much love! ^^
@@sprybug QUÉBEC NUMÉRO 1

@@sprybug Don't worry if you learn your french in canada you're probably also pronouncing it completely wrong.
(kinda joking, I know canadian french is just different)
I like that the reaction to the licorice having a "stinky aftertaste" is to give them to Joel like he's the family dog.
Well, he did eat stinkbugs and cardboard, vomit is practically a national dish in sweden, right?
@@tigertoxins584they use the vomit to mask the taste of aniseed
@@JacobKinsley I bet they eat coriander seed whole too
He ate a bunch of stink bug jelly beans and liked them but acted like Prime tasted like diarrhea, something wrong with that man

Vinny, it's French. We use DD/MM/YYYY here. This gingerbread wasn't expired at all. You're not going to die! :D
Also yes it is exactly gingerbread. "Pain d'épice" is what we call it.
Mais oui le facepalm ! J’aurais jamais envoyé des trucs expirés 🥲
@@retro_stew Il faut être patient avec les américains, ils font de leur mieux (:
le epic bread XD
I'm from Norway and that confused me as well, like we're not in December yet wtf lol.
I wasn't sure which way we used in Canada off the top of my head so I checked some stuff in my cupboard. Canada uses both DD/MM and MM/DD, so avoid confusion, it seems we always just use 2 letters for the month.
Her: "C'mon babe, its time for Thanksgiving."

Oh dang
Ahhh the French Vinesauce has long been celebrated for its excellence
Best comment of all time
They may also be called "Vinésauce's lookalike"
not bad, not bad
I just love how Vinny's reaction upon tasting something good is like his entire family has been murdered
Can I just say that I love how this video has so much Professor Layton music in it? It's honestly hilarious to me though since not once does it ever take place in France LMAO
Also music from Dark Cloud 2 (same composer btw)
accordéon = french
Erm, the 5th Professor Layton (Mask of w/e, can't recall the name) is set in France I think...?
10:20 "it's like gingerbread. it's very gingerbread"

Vinny calling goat cheese "cake" made me laugh hard. ALSO OH NO HE READ THE EXPIRATION DATE BACKWARDS VINNY THE MONTH GOES AFTER THE DAY OVER HERE THE GINGERBREAD IS GOOD UNTIL THE 5TH OF DECEMBER LMFAO
I fucking lost my mind when he actually described it as "cake and spicy".
Why would he know the french way of expiration date

Also can't stop chuckling at "tétés brulées" - for non french: the literal translation of the candy's name is "burnt heads" (tho as said in the vid it's also a metaphor for a risk taker) but "Tétés" is a slang for nipples
1:50 Belin "Minizza", basically a cracker with tomato and cheese on it

@@Sauci55on C'est bizarre en effet, mais les pastilles de Vichy sont vraiment S-tier
For your info at 9:30 I just saw pain and my brain autocorrected the rest to horny gingerbread. Truly the French experience. :)
And we like pain. And we like... PAIN!
As a french viewer of Vinny for probably over a decade I'm so happy to see him try all those snacks. Honey-flavored mustard is also a favourite of mine.
Vinny not knowing Asterix and Obelix is incredibly surprising for some reason
Why? As far as I know its only popular in europe
@@belisarius6949 I mean yeah but Vinny also knows a shitton of obscure stuff
He only knows what chat tells him. He doesn't find it on his own. He can't even read european date formats. @@furfixer
@@belisarius6949They’re at least semi-popular in Australia too. Every school library has the Asterix collection books.
I live in the states and I had one of their games on my Sega when I was young. They still are definitely not popular here though.
Vinny eating goat cheese chips and thinking the picture of the goat cheese is a picture of cake is curious
Quite curious
that is the most cake looking cheese I've ever seen
Astérix is actually so popular it even reached Québec and is very popular here too. There were many movies made as well (even a very recent one), and the old animated movies are actually amazing. One of the best ones in my opinion is "Astérix et les douze travaux" (The twelve tasks of Astérix), it's a classic and a must watch for anyone who speaks french.
Twelves tasks is on youtube in full and english iirc. Tho honestly as a kid i was traumatized by that part where they almost never leave the island of pleasure (that song is the worst earworm) now as an adult i relate to the part where they have to find the laissez passer or whatever they call it in english lol
Bro Asterix so big we have them in Uruguay
12 tasks is one of the greatest and packed full of cool stuff and hilarious jokes
I can confirm too.
[*Crazy House* ost intensifies]
Vinny’s becoming Mr. Worldwide with all these snacks
More like Mr. Worldsize. :P
Cuz he’s scared to death to fly😮
he is becoming wide, sure
So fun fact about Claude François the french icon of the vinyl at 19:44 :
Everyone knows "My Way" from Frank Sinatra, His most popular song and probably one of the mist well known song in the world but not many know the history behind the creation of this music.
In 1967 a french composer named Jacques Revaux write the song "For me" and then propose the text to many well known french artist but many declines except Claude François. They then rewrite the song into "Comme d'habitude" a grandiose song about how love fades away during the everyday life between two loved ones, heavily inspired by Claude François recent breakup. The song is a massive hit in France well known for the last chorus with Claude François giving it's all with a grandiose trumpet based melody and helps cement Claude François as a french musical icon. That's where the story becomes interesting because none other than DAVID FUCKING BOWIE is asked to make an english adaptation of the song in 1968 but quickly give up and only records a demo but would still later reuse the harmonic grid of the song for Life on Mars?. A few months later Paul Anka (the dude who made "put your head on my shoulders" i shit you not) takes notice of the song while on a trip to Paris, buys the english adaptation rights. A bit later while on a dinner with Frank Sinatra, Frank sinatra expressed wanting to quit the music business wich sparked the idea to Paul Anka to rewrite the original song and slightly alter the melodic structure which then lead to the planetary success "My Way". The Story of the english adaptation of "Comme d'habitude" is batshit insane, so many great names of the history of music revolves around this song it's kinda funny
TL;DR : "Comme d'habitude" one of Claude François most iconic song directly inspired "My way" from Frank Sinatra and almost got adaptated by David Bowie which then later reused the musical grid of the song for "Life on Mars?"
Funny seeing Vinny pogging in the thumbnail at the thought of French snacks.

Vinny has a lot more French fans than I thought.

edit : where is the wine and pack of smoke ?
For the next Red Vox album, Vinny should cover that French phone song
Long time French Vinesauce viewer here.
Love the absolute butchering of the language as well as seeing the reactions of each snacks and see how close he is to general opinions on those products, wish there were more controversials or generally disliked products like "Car en sac" or
"Mon chéri" Chocolates.
Literally no human can not butcher a language they have never studied.
@@Hithere-uz6wd yeah that's why it's funny
Perfect pronunciation of every french word, incrédiblé! Is Vinny secretly learning french?!
I grew up reading Astérix & Obelix, a staple of european childhoods. my parents had the whole collection & I'd re-read them constantly. you should read them Vin, they're short & the humor is great, with innumerous jokes about italians. they have some movie adaptations but the comics are still 100% better
They're crazy these italians...
The americano-italian english major can't say a word of french. Imagine my shock!
Même en tant que Canadien Français, entendre Vinnyot massacré le language est toujours hilarant. Blaguès lmao
Idem!
Oh la vache c'est notre tour les gars!
When I watched the Canada video I never considered that America wouldn't have all this candy I see in every store. Anything you saw here that you were surprised wasn't in America?
I feel like I need to go to Vinny directly and start screaming at him that the dates on packaging outside of the US are Day-Month-Year and not Month-Day-Year.
Some countries use it differently. Its not just the US that has it different.
Après toutes les sucreries qu'il a mangées, ça m'étonnerait pas qu'on se retrouve avec le Gros Vinny comme nouveau streamer
Ou est passé le maigre vinny ?

glad to see Gnorts is embracing his VLC spirit today.
Dude I'm fucking hyper jealous of the Asterix book! Nice gift!
the professor layton music... goes hard
I know FR is the abbreviation of France/French but I can't help but to read the title and think it's zoomer speech.
"for real vinny tries french snacks for real"
I don't speak a word or French, but hearing "KALLI-SONS DEE IKE'S" still blasts my sides into orbit
Ça va être légendaire.
Yep
Domage qu'il ne pourra pas lire le Asterix parce-qu'il ne comprend pas le français.
Vinny mentioned seeing Asterix before. I wouldn't be surprised if an Asterix game was part of a shovelware or corruptions collection.
Somehow finding "french" sounding video game music covers, for the background music, is amazing.
In France we like to make food that looks and smells like shit but actually taste good
Big fan of the France ™️ music blaring even louder than Vinnie talking 👍
Mr Vincent trying french snacks i see this is actually awesome :) Im French and my English has boosted from watching Vinesauce for 5 years now non vraiment je trouve ça génial et il apprend un peu notre culture :D

Love that you used My Innermost Apocalypse at 13:12 . The original Issac has such amazing music. Haven’t heard that song in years.
Flash Isaac and the WotL DLC for it have just the best music that's ever been made for Isaac.

Fun fact: Claude François is the guy who wrote the original of "my way" popularised in English with Sinatra
Thanks for making this Pre-recorded video Vinny, I hope you, everyone you know, and all of your fans have a happy Thanksgiving!
My favourite thing about this video was hearing Professor Layton music in a Vinesauce video
I got unreasonably happy that he liked some of my faves.
Holy Shit, i searched a long ass time for these Mini Pizzas!! I loved them as a child, but they are nowhere to be found anymore (in Germany)
Thank you Frenchy Snackidi Guy!
Herbes de Provence slathered on la chips... Mon Dieu...
The sheer pleasure I had knowing that the "Anis" was probably Aniseed and that Vinny hates liquorice.
Being French and seeing the Herbes de province,I instantly went "that's not a snack 😭" lmao. It's actually smt you put with meat and most cooked dishes. Also the chips were goat cheese/spicy flavoured.
Vinny survived the Moldelo and is worried about ginger bread that isn't even expired... smh...
A very French and sugary Thanksgiving, just what the doctor ordered
i’m loving this irl content sm
Aaah mon cher Vincent. J'espère que vous avez apprécié nos friandises comme nous apprécions vos vidéos.
Love from France !!!
As someone from the Provence region, I took mental damage when you tried to eat Herbes de Provence raw on a cracker. You're meant to cook with it (it makes a mean ratatouille). Also the calissons d'Aix come from the city of Aix-en-Provence and they are usually made with oranges or melons. One last thing, the chips you tasted are flavored with goat cheese and Espelette peppers, that are cultivated in the city of Espelette, that's why the taste was weird.
Are they weird because it's peppers, or because of the city of Espelette? lol
@@Siobhansama Oh no it's the combination of them and goat cheese that's unusual (though I've had these and they're delicious)
Even as a french I didn't touch most of these for some reason, but many are definitely traditional and popular, but including Paris Marseille Racing is kind of genius lol
Dommage qu’il ait pas lu la description !
Asterix is my childhood. I think I even had that book, it had a plot point about strawberries if I remember right.
These Asterix comic book are some of the best comic books ever made. The french where killing it in the 60s - 90s. Asterix, Tintin, Spirou, the Golden era of comics.
I love that they threw in a bunch of other funny French stuff. Breaks up the snack moments quite nicely.
Vichy Vinesauce
even on days without streaming, Vinny will successfully knock the "days without feet mentioned" counter all the way back to 0
Vinny eating European junk food and Joel eating North American junk food is my favorite thing
1:11 is that really the way his mouth moved or is that a tim and eric style liquify tool edit
That has to be an edit
i am super baked and did not expect a full sauce video to be edited but i rewatched the part like 50 times and it’s totally the tim and eric liquify tool
always love to see VineTube's food reviews
I absolutely love the choice of background music in this video
Écoute, Vincent est près de toooi
I have now gone down a path of figuring out why the Yvette Horner song that played was so familiar, it was covered and made into the first electronic hit single, but I had originally heard it as a Crazy Frog song. That song carries weight, thank you Popcorn 🍿
Vinny was made for the beret
chat is that professor layton music
The telephone album reminded me of Good Morning Mr. Echo.
Chèvre is a kind of cheese in France, from goat milk. So it wasn't a cake on the chips pack lmao, but cheese with some spices in it.
Vinny + France is a treat
no longer worried about my french pronunciation after watching this
Déjà rien qu'en voyant les têtes brûlées, je me dis que ça va être énorme
Cacolac is made very close from where I live and I love drinking it. I do however prefer the glass bottled version than the canned one, because of the said metallic taste.
Vignesauce got some real good shit there. Pogue.
I can't believe the french got vinny😢
héhéhé
I like that there was Professor Layton music in the background sometimes
i had 4 years of french in school and all i remember is: everything is silent especially the end of the words.

vinny soyjak
Watching Vinny try out these various French snacks make me miss my paternal grandmother, as she came from a French family.
And yes, both of those crepe and caramel snacks are amazing.
Asterix is a very popular comic (strip) here in Europa, it has a lot of games too, this is why you might recognize it.
"Vinny" has always been "Skinny" as far as I know, yet he makes it sound like he would become big, or "Binny", if he didn't stop himself from enjoying ginger sodas and chocolate.
I don't remember too much but I think it was either Mike or Joel that said Vinny used to eat like shit, so I'd assume he's much more careful about his diet since he isn't in his 20s anymore
I love how people think eating food makes you fat and become paranoid of touching anything. Sheer idiocy. Keep active, go to the gym, go on bike rides several times a week. Sitting on your ass doing nothing like a typical millennial is how you get fat. I'm 32 and eat pizza and chicken every night and I'm still 165 because I keep active, work out, and don't just sit around for 15 hours a day. @@Ryan-op7yd
