How is it pronounced? Most people over here (including myself) would have no idea what sound ç should make.
@@botchboy4237 just a straight "s" sound, like in snake, soda, or massive. I'm Brazilian and don't understand why it exists either, rather than just using a regular "s" lol. There was probably some reason in old Portuguese, but it got lost in the many official revisions the Portuguese language has had over its history.

Heya binny, brazillian here, the "FAB 04-09-23" on the Biscoito de Polvilho means it was made on September 4, 2023 (We say "4 de Setembro de 2023")
(They probably were quite stale, yes)
And VAL means Best By which it's expiration date of the product. Some packages don't contain these, instead it gives the description "Consuma em X dias" (Consume in X days).
Also they have a rather short life, even shorter after some crusade on preserving agents.
I heard once that the Globo brand had no expiration date on label because every batch was meant (and did) to be sold and consumed on the same day.
Same with the Pipoca Doce, those are hit or miss depending on brand but even the best will have a soft and stale feel well before expiration date.
Yep, the polvilho was almost certainly stale, and so was the pipoca doce. (But to be fair I don't really enjoy the latter). Polvilho would fare so much better with a cup of coffee as well.

Okay, so "pé de moleque" (a brat or a kid's foot) is in fact a weird fucking name and since I was a kid, I always thought they were called that because the peanuts covered in the brown sugar thing (rapadura) reminded people of the way a child's dirty foot looks after playing in the dirt or something like that.
It actually seems like it wasn't that at all, supposedly, waaay back in colonial Brazil, since pé de moleque was always made in larger quantities, making a whole tray's worth and then splitting them just like brownies, kids would steal some from the women who made them, hoping it wouldn't be noticed, so it is said that when caught, those women would say to the kids "Pede, moleque!" (something like "Just ask for it, brat!"), so after the candy in itself ended up being called that.
Due to "pé de" and "pede" sounding identical, people just started thinking it meant the former and writing and it like that (and tbh, who can blame them, the wrong one, wihle weird is at least the name of something, the supposedly "right" way is an exclamation).
