Sivaji Ganesan was the first Indian film actor to win a "Best Actor" award in an International film festival, the Afro-Asian Film Festival held in Cairo, Egypt in 1960.
In 1997, Ganesan was conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour for films in India. He was also the first Indian actor to be made a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
Upon his death, The Los Angeles Times described him as "the Marlon Brando of south India's film industry"
1962, invited by the then-US President John F. Kennedy, where he took the role of India's cultural ambassador. During his visit there, he was honoured by being made the honorary mayor of Niagara Falls, New York for one day and was presented the golden key to the city.

Indians maintain close relationship with their siblings till the end of their life. Elders take pleasure and pride in taking care of their younger siblings. Here an orphan brother grooms his sister she loves his friend and marry him. As it is in Indian family system she lives with her husband . To appreciate this scene full movie has to be watched. Even after 50 years whenever it is screened in Theatre or TV the audience very specially the ladies watch it with moist eyes. It is a tragic cinema but with enchanting scenes and songs. Sivaji Ganesan is more than Marlon Brando. Savithri is unique. Somebody rightly suggested this to you.

I am so glad to see you both at old Tamil songs which really have a magical touch.. Whenever I saw you both with the newer songs, I used to wish if only they heard the melodies of old.. And I have my desire quenched now!

In Tamil culture, we have a tradition of marrying between children of brothers and sisters of same parent....
This doesn't suit for children of two brothers (or) two sisters....

Yeah....its not happening these days most...
But...we have a culture that adheres this ideology....
Children of two brothers (or) sisters considered as brothers...
But children of brother and sister will not be considered as bro/sis relationship.... And they have a option to get married...

Thanks for your reaction on such an Amazing Song.
Sivaji Ganesan acted different roles in one period, i.e., Anti Villan, Villan, Hero, Father of 9 children, A character without Heroine etc in a same year and all the films successfully went on.
One Film Baley Pandiya with 3 roles, and he took only 11 days to complete and the film shooting completed in 14days.
Now every one in indian cinema give more advices on Farming and especially some of the films were half baked. Our Legendary Actor Shivaji Ganesan did splendid performance as a Farmer and through his acting skill without dialogue he taught lesson. The film is "Pazhani".
Lastly, he set a benchmark in Versatile Acting. He said "Makeup and dressing won't reflect a character, body language and expression will structure the character"
