"There's no kill switch on this guitar? Be a lot cooler if there was." -Ryan From 60 Cycle Hum: The Guitar Podcast on literally every guitar he touches....
These guitars are absolutely awesome. Straight off the shelf I never had to make any changes sounds amazing and so much fun to play
Killswitch seems a bit pedestrian. Could do a filter (Instah wah), or in/out of phase on the switch. To swap between sounds instead of silence.
That is a cool looking guitar. I would leave it as is.
She's a lovely guitar mate
Awesome guitar! Now, i want
Beautiful guitar.
Amazing I’ve had CS Strat’s and Tele’s with less tidy wiring..Love my Dano 12.
Piezo bridge or Babicz bridge. Ornamental stuff like LED artwork. Fretlight attachment. Transcale bridge. Sperzel tuners. Swap out the P90ish with a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat chrome top. Sand the paint out of the cavities and cover it in shielding tape. Replace the neck with a baritone scale.
I would do a full copper-tape shielding. Then, change the rear pickup's wiring to do phase/series rather than coil-split. That way you get a similar sound to "single coil" out of that humbucker in the pulled-up position, without losing the hum-cancellation. Mixed with the front pickup that would be a pretty funky sound
I have an interesting idea for the neck pick up. If it’s humbucker mount then you could get a humbucker mount toaster pickup for it. You could combine the Rickenbacker style jangle with the Danelectro Jangle.
I probably wouldn't change anything but I would think of adding a blending pot between the two pickups. On most of the more traditional Danelectros you can adjust volume and tone individually on the two lipstick pickups and I find that gives a wider range of usable sounds.
Have you done a kill-switch tutorial? I think it’d be cool
ik they got an 59xt model but id really wanna put some sort of duesemberg term on mine. but idk how cos the weird groove at the bridge
The body is made of Masonite. I really want one of these!!
Are the pickup rings the same size? Maybe it is just the angle playing tricks on my eyes but the neck pickup looks larger than the bridge pickup.
thinking moving one lipstick vs p90 to the bridge would change the sound to more twangy; or mote like a Tele . Like to hear it when your done . this model gives the same std Dano sound with the lipsticks seperated ?
I just went and watched your demo of this and I think you should leave this one alone. It's a pretty nice guitar already. Unlike the fellow underneath me here, I think that red kill switch would be a cool addition. The mod you did on that Squier Bullet? was it? had me grinning. Looked like a lot of fun
Just an idea, a mixer knob (similar to higher end basses) would be a cool. That way you could have more options than just the 3 way switch
How do you line up the kill switch so that it fits perfectly in the routing? Do you mark the pickguard?
