What a wonderful world watercolour month you had, Lora. I’ve loved following your dog art trail on Instagram and it’s lovely to see them all in their dedicated book. Thank you for sharing. Theresa 🐾
I did the entire month, no big epic pieces, just little watercolour sketches each day. It was good fun and i learned alot - not least a bit if self discipline in making myself paint every day 😂. I had dine the june prompts and will do August too, it gives me a reason to practice and learn. Great paintings, i love your spreads in the first book, and also those dogs.
Wow, well done Terri! I did inktober each day last year, but doing watercolour every day seems a bigger achievement! Maybe I’ll give a bit more commitment to it next time. For now I’m mostly focused on the dogs haha
Loved seeing all your recent sketchbook entries! I thought I was probably up-to-date since I’ve seen your posts on IG, but there were some new ones! I absolutely adore the balloon sculpture project and can’t wait to see more. I’d have a hard time picking a favourite between Love Grows and Spike (might have the name wrong). They’re all looking so lovely!! I did not participate in World Watercolour Month. I’m not good at daily challenges, I’ll start strong but then the pressure gets to me 😅, so I skip them altogether and just enjoy what other people have painted/sketched. I have been lugging a few supplies outside on weekend afternoons to paint on my deck, but work has been a bit busy, so on weeknights, I’ve been in “survival mode” 😂.
Those are my 2 favourites so far as well! Although the last one I’ve been working on was absolutely stunning in real life (hopefully when I finish the sketches it will do it a bit more justice) I’m actually grateful that I missed the first week of World watercolour month because that immediately took the pressure off of trying to do all of the days! Hope your work settles down soon!
I love your idea of painting the Big Dog art trail- that’s a great idea. I painted a lot of gouache in July, not so much watercolor. That last grouping of elements on the periodic table just got their official names about seven years ago, that’s why you see different symbols for them.
Thank you! And thanks for the clarification about those element names! I thought I was losing the plot. Some had old or new names and some even had a mix of both! Also, knowing that it was only 7 years ago means I don’t have to beat myself up for not remembering it from my school days hahaha
Love watching your videos just found you ! Thanks to the big dog trail and your sketch of Morgan 's dog. What sketch book did you use , such a great idea 💡 Haven't been inspired do do much are lately just moved house , to Swindon
Hi Liz, thank you! It's nice to see you here too! I actually make my own sketchbooks. For the dogs I just made a small one (4 inch square) to try and make it easier on myself so there wasn't so much pressure to get every detail. The tall sketchbook in this video is one that I made and actually filmed a tutorial how to make it. (If you're interested in making your own books my tutorial is in a playlist called handmade books). Thanks again

If it is ‘weird’, as you say, then it’s MY kind of weird! I truly enjoy your videos.
Aww thanks Liz!
