Her calling Lexie a 'loser with no self respect' while Cassie herself be waking up at 4am everyday to make herself look pretty for a guy who doesn't even notice her unless she looks like Maddy- 💀
Man, i remember when i first saw the season 2 trailer and i thought the make up scenes was some sort of weird self care thing and she was trying to find her own identity outside of man... My how time makes a fool out of me.
The projecting is strong with this one
Nah he didn’t notice her intentionally because he didn’t want Maddy finding out they’ve been f*cking since she had the tape of his dad and jules he does dress her like Maddy though because that’s the style he likes (high heels, boujee etc.) which is funny because dude himself dresses so bland and plain lol
I kno! Lexi sure has enough self respect not to go fuck her best friends ex unlike some people…

"you fell in love with someone who spent years making fun of you, it's sad."
Lexie said what we were all thinking
'fell obsessed' rather in love 😬
That's not something to accuse someone with, that should be a sign for concern. If she's doing this knowing how he makes fun of her she needs counselling. She's trying to stay in a relationship with an abusive, manipulative man, she needs help. And so does Lexie.
And their mother isn't doing anything to help either of them, she's not involved in their lives and just lays the blame on them and gets annoyed with them because they're disturbing her drinking and her tv.
She's a terrible mother to both her daughters and somehow people are calling it 'tough love'.
I have seen these videos about Euphoria, and it's got some good things in it that people need to look out for in this show and in other shows where they portray toxic/abusive relationships:

I feel like cause as both kids (Lexi and Rue) grew up, she got to know Rue as almost an extended member, maybe not another daught but to the point where she understands Rue’s struggles, the disorders, the meds, the slow ache of watching your father die and then ultimately watch him die in front of you while Lexi and Cassie were spared to watch the slow fall (yeah Cassie saw her dad as a druggie, but not the slow burn of it all)

In truth he is worst when she gets to know him more. Sleep with her every fridays and then pretend she does not exist at school and still seeing his ex and then break up with her...yeah, it would have been better if she had never known him.

No SERIOUSLY, like how do you know him babes? All yall do is have s3x. At least with Maddy they actually went on dates and spent time together🥴
the way cassie’s reacting is so realistic to how an actual teenager would react to something like this making no sense but thinking they know everything and not being able to take responsibility. saying this as a teenager btw i would 100% react like this tbh 😭
Sadly I know adults, parents and grandparents who act this way. Always the victim. No accountability.
My sister is 28 and still acts this way but times 100, she stomps and screams in our faces saying illogical bull how we think we are right and won't let her talk but then it's my turn or my mom's she cuts us off and says she can lash out cause "we" deserve it. Then when it's her turn to get her delusional ass called out she runs away in her room like a toddler and screams shut the fuck up shut up your so annoying shut up after screaming shit in your face like a hyena for hours.
Its hard living with manipulative adult toddlers. My dad will give me a compliment or discuss a plan of action for what I need done and she will butt in and insult him on purpose knowing he will stop giving me attention get angry and go downstairs to avoid her warpathathic ass, her jealousy is nauseating. Sorry for venting she use to beat on me for fun like a psycho growing up and now she can't cause I'm physically stronger but I swear when she throws tantrums I need to find the will of God not to resort to getting physical angry people really make atmospheres miserable for everyone around them.
no longer a teenager now but yeah i relate to that, was abt to comment something similar to this. i definitely would've done it like this in the past💀
FOR REAL YES😭
yep. she has rationalized it in her brain by saying “they were broken up” but obviously maddy and nate dated for so long and were still emotionally involved (nate texted her from the hospital and maddy told her abt it, cassie knew exactly how maddy felt). the cognitive dissonance is overwhelming and cassie is trying everything to avoid it.
the fact she had the audacity to sit there and talk about rues life not being hard. she literally watched her dad die in front of her. then tries to justify for what she done, oh i genuinely hate her character now.
Plus the fact that rue has a ton of mental illnesses and had to take meds that "slowed her down"
When she mentions both of their situations, she says that she doesn’t know which was worse. She’s not saying that she has it harder than rue, she’s bitter because she’s not getting the same sympathy that rue gets despite her history of mistreating people.
@@lavendertaffy7591 2:31 she literally said “not harder than my life of lexi’s life”…sooo what r u on

(This isn’t a defense of Cassie btw. I’m not saying that Cassie was correct in her comparison, but a lot of people are misinterpreting what she said)

I think the most infuriating thing about Cassie is how bad she is with accountability. She never owns up to her actions, she's always the victim and what makes her insufferable is all the whining, crying and self-pity. Her backstory was one of my favs, in the sense that she held a special place in my heart because I was so upset for her and so disappointed in her shit of a dad. but come s2 and all her shitty ass choices she makes and how she justifies it OMG I CANNOT GIVE HER THE EXORCISM

I mean it makes sense why shes bad with accountability. Idk why a lot of ppl are shocked by this when she had bad bfs and a shitty dad which represents that she doesnt have any good male figure in her life. It makes sense why she fell for Nate bc he gave her attention at certain times. Her screaming and crying plus not taking accountability is her 17 yo immature self plus the realization of her trauma which paints herself as the victim. Like shes 17, not every 17 is mature and idk why ppl are shocked.

Yeah no kidding! It shows her total lack of self awareness as well as her inability to acknowledge that she’s completely in the wrong for screwing her best friends ex whom she was trying to reconcile with.
That she's a spiraling teenager that needs to grow up and probably get some therapy😅
@@scartee13 Because she influenced Nate's choice to sleep with his ex's best friend? Because she stopped him from rejecting her or forced him to pursue her?
Nate made the choice to sleep with her just like she made the choice to sleep with him, but everyone's yelling at Cassie. I think that's why she's lashing out because she feels judged for something that was a mutual decision between two people. I also think she feels guilty about her father even though it wasn't her fault, so she has guilt mixed up with an awareness that 'it wasn't my fault', so she looks to Nate to validate her because she thinks that someone who insulted her and then stopped insulting her would fix her in some way, but is bringing her awareness of her innocence in her fathers situation into this situation instead. Her feelings of guilt make everyone confronting her about Nate make her lash out so she's lashing out at them because she can't stop blaming herself for other things.

Euphoria is a shit show anyways, so it's only normal for Euphoria fans to be equally pathetic. That's why they sympathize with disgusting people like maddy and rue
I’m very disappointed that people are bringing up how suze treats rue, that’s not the issue, suze disregards the fact she neglected Cassie. There is no argument, she has sympathy for rue because she was in her place at a point, but she was wrong to not comfort or even consider her daughters point of view and overall she’s not a great mother to Cassie, good maternal figure for rue maybe but she doesn’t have that same love because she doesn’t see Cassie and rue as equals, She views rue as someone overcoming something, and Cassie as someone overreacting. I haven’t seen all of the source material, but everything I see just reinforces the idea that she doesn’t see Cassie’s suffering
i don't totally blame her though, because rue has been struggling a lot through her whole life. and it's not to say that cassie has had it easy, but this side of cassie is not one that her mom has seen before, so it does look like she's overreacting. she also won't take accountability and is super attention seeking, which isn't exactly doing her image any favors. suze isn't a bad mother for being imperfect.

@@kingfish-sp9oe that’s not bipolar. Bipolar people do not flip emotional states on a dime. They go from manic to depressed over the course of days, weeks, or even months.
@@iwanttosleep6414 I would say that going manic is a switch itself
@@nicolemarly6202 manic in the context of a bipolar person does not mean becoming unhinged over a specific upsetting event. It’s a sustained emotional state that persists over a longer period of time than the one portrayed in this series. It’s not dependent on environment.
The fact that y’all think that lady is a good mom is…concerning. Cassie’s decisions are terrible, but she absolutely has a point. It doesn’t matter how it happened, losing a parent in any fashion is traumatizing, and can show up in self destructive behavior. Don’t get me wrong Cassie’s actions shouldn’t be rewarded, but her family not giving her ANY type of affection is why she’s doing the shit she’s doing in the first place. Then for Lexi to go and make a whole play about her and her life bcus she herself doesn’t have anything going for her? Her mom comparing her to someone else’s kid? Weird. Very weird.
Exactly...and parents, I 'll give u some clube/ piece of advice: don't compare ur kids with others...at first, because It hurts a lot and Second...u really don't know the Other kid u compare urs to it... maybe the Other kid is much worse than ur kid and u have no idea
Exactly when everyone is hating on your daughter you stand against them like a wall around ur daughter. Mother telling her daughter that she has done something bad vs. other people hating is different. Instead suzi is ganging up on Cassie along with everyone else. I mean she doesn't even wanna listen to Cassie at all. She'd rather watch her tv.
Sydney's performance was just spectacular.
What surprised me the most was how quickly cruel she becomes when she talks about rue. Going from "hi rue rue" to "i dont know why you guys believe her shes a drug addict" in like 2 episodes like her point was any less valid because of her addiction. And now the "rue is a bad person" thing.
I would think of all people, cassie would be the most empathetic towards rue and her struggling balancing her mental health issues, the death of her father and her addiction with her having an alcoholic mother and an absent dad who then became addicted to painkillers after a road accident whom she helped steal things from their house to pay for HIS substance abuse (its also hinted that he may be dead already, but thats just speculation). This shows how far shes reached and how deep in her own head she is to justify her shitty actions.
I mean, drug addicts are notorious liars, her point wasn't wrong or bad at that moment. Everyone would've said the same thing.
It's that she's an attention who*e who disrespected bro/girl code, slept with her best friend's abuser and is still trying to justify herself.
Rue outed her when Cassie was just trying to be supportive. Rue threw her under the bus so that she could absolve herself of an intervention. Rue was wrong for that. Even though Cassie messed up hooking up with Nate and hiding it, Rue had no business doing her like that. Cassie had every right to diss Rue for that, shes entitled to be angry too.
Theres a real double standard in this fandom that I'm noticing. Rue was in a manic state when she did what she did, but who's to say cassie isnt battling something herself? She ended the previous semester having had an abortion and coming to terms that everyonevthinks shes a slut and is humiliated by everyone she knows. Shes had to resort to screwing a total asshole like nate and screw over her best friend (which was dumb af) but still. Everyone in this show is going through stuff, that's the whole point. And each character in their own right is entitled to their feelings. If anything it's more messed up how cassie was so nice to Rue only for rue to shit on her by outing and embarrassing her in front of everyone. Drug addict or not, I'd be made about that too.
@@mjb2697 Yeah, but she shouldn't have pretended to 'help' and care about Rue in the first place if she was gonna turn on her this fast.
Rue definitely threw her under the bus to escape the house and her mom, but it’s weird how people think Cassie “turned on her” so fast. They were never close, she just tried being nice because she knew Rue was Lexi’s childhood friend.
Cassie trying to throw her under the bus too isn’t that shocking, she’s definitely the kind not to take accountability.
@@mjb2697 yeah most drug addicts have a tendency to lying and being unstable but Cassie literally lied and gaslit Rue's addiction to hide the truth.
idc how people try to justify it, cassie had no business comparing her life to rue’s. both of them have suffered and it’s just low to go there, even if rue did out her secret.
yes it was pointless because rue never compared her trauma to cassie's or used it to justify her actions. cassie weaponizes it to justify her wrongdoings and she should not be doing this whole olympics oppression thing with rue. but if she has to: rue WATCHED her dad slowly wilt away and eventually die, got addicted to medicine as a kid when she was too young to even understand what drug addiction was, has numerous mental illnesses, and got cheated on multiple times by her gf who she loved very much, so much that she tried to stay clean just for her (which ik is flawed logic but still). cassie has no right to compare her trauma to anybody's, especially to someone who has it much worse than her.

yes Cassie is in the wrong for sleeping with Nate behind Maddie's back. No best friend should ever do that and she shouldn't be making excuses. She lacks guidance from her mother, the mom rather sit in front of the TV then to actually talk with cassie. And When Cassie compares Rue's struggle with hers, I understand. Like I rather have a father who's dead rather than a father decided to just leave you. Because death is understandable and leaving not so much. you are left with questions: why doesn't my dad love me? Or what did I do to make you leave? That's why Cassie is so desperate to find love. She's impulsive she's depressed and no one is helping her out. i don't like cassie because her character is very much like me, which makes me dislike her so much lol
