00:39 - Intro
Project Racing Green is my 1989 Rover Mini Racing Green that has had an official John Cooper conversion fitted by John Cooper Garages. The standard 998cc engine is boosted from 41BHP to 60BHP thanks to the engine upgrades. The upgrades include a polished and ported Cylinder head with enlarged valves, LCB exhaust system, Roller tip rockers, and Twin HS2 SU Carburettors. The interior enhancements include walnut door capping, walnut dashboard, alloy door furniture, and luxurious John Cooper emblem full leather GTS recliner seats.

Mate that looks amazing lovely job. Takes me back to the early 90’s when I used to perv over these in the Rover brochures as a teenager!
Looking good Keith decal's certainly add a touch to the green great job
Fantastic job Keith, well done!
Looks absolutely fantastic, Keith, inside and out. You have done some great work as usual. Well done 👏
Thanks 👍
Looks sweeter now!
Brilliant. No other word for it!
Looks fantastic Keith
Really like those decals!
Hi Keith! ( because I love the John Cooper style white bonnet stripes with the white roof) I didn’t think I’d like these side panel stripes but I really do. This little car is pristine 👍👌❤️❤️❤️
Keith - excellent work, and thebest choice livery.! Racing Green is going to look better than new. Noted the dodgy wiring loom connector, something to check before procuring such items in the future for all.
Looks mega Keith
Thanks
Cheers Les
Lovely 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Keith, looking good mate, only criticism is trust me don't solder joints it makes the wiring go brittle either side of the solder, how do I know I've done it to, I now crimp everything with a professional crimper and aviation crimps, luckily my son is an avionics engineer so he's taught me a lot. Anyway, keep up the good work nearly there mate. Cheers Marty 👍
She’s looking great Keith, well done for doing such a professional job.
😍👍
Enjoying watching these. I’ve just recently purchased a 1976 mini pickup!
You lucky sod! They are gorgeous! 👍🇬🇧
@@philtucker1224 thanks I’m loving it, always wanted one! 🇬🇧 😊
We love stickers.
Hi Keith, very brave to do the decals yourself.... out of all things on Car makes me feel abit sick after an experience with window tint!😂
Great job
Hi Keith, I had the same issues with my new loom bought from a different supplier, had to swap the new for old connecter, just can't get the decent items these days
Looks fantastic Keith.
It's so annoying with the poor quality of new parts, especially from so called Mini specialists.
I would be demanding compensation for the time and effort to rectify.
Hi Keith. Looks great! I have just noticed the metal cooper s wheel centres. How are they fitted? I’m thinking of getting some but they come with screws so not sure how they fit
They are just screwed onto the original center caps. You need to drill the holes and they don't come with screws
Should have stuck with the racing green livery IMHO. But saying that my racing green is going gun metal grey n black lol😅😅😅
The car looks amazing. I said not to do the red on the steering wheel but it looks great. I was hoping for a ‘how to’ on the decals, I’ve got some Tahiti ones to add to my car… Do you just peel them off and stick them on? Thanks
Pretty straight forward, just peel and stick once lined up, but you must degrease the panel first with something like brake cleaner
Thank you 👍
You now need an engine and gearbox.
What spec did you have the engine built to?
It's been so long, I can't quite remember. I think it's +20, stage 3 head, EVO cam, and fully lightened and balanced bottom end
I have stop using mini spares had so many poor quality spares from them, all the knuckle joint rubbers perished in less then 4 months and the subframe never made it to the car. Now use Rimmer Brothers and never had an issue I know you pay more but the quality is the best.
Same crap from rimmers… all suppliers suffer from inferior rubber
Well I have not had an issue with Rimmer brothers as they still get rover geniue spares when available
Do you sell the mini when you finish them or do you keep them ? How many do you own ?
Ive only got 2 at the moment. I plan to keep this one
@@classicminiworkshop You certainly look like you know what you’re doing , must be very satisfying being able to do what you do, you don’t need a therapist just need a mini.
LOL, it's akin to therapy!
@@classicminiworkshop A very talented soul you are , your workmanship is astounding.
Cut plug off they are crap. Use old one
Mini Spares, some of their stuff ain't brill! That's a poor way of joining wires together, scotch locks every day of the week 😮 I'm famous on CZcams now, have you seen the video i star in?
Don't buy new parts as they will 100% be worse than original, like everything these days.
There certainly is a strong case for refurbishment or if you are really lucky, new old stock..
Hiya Keith-looks absolutely great inside and out. Can't wait to see RG running. The red piping is perfect. Keep well.
