Small note about how the World Happiness Report actually rank/"vote" Finland as the happiest country in the world. The "happiness" level is based on the following things in a country: "real GDP per capita", "social support", "healthy life expectancy," "freedom to make life choices", "generosity" and "perceptions of corruption". Not, you know, self-end rates or alcohol usage or opinions from random Finns etc.
How to do you measure genorosity.also is perception of generosity how much people think your country is corrupt.

* Gone throwing axes at a axe/knife throwing range
* Gone shooting guns and crossbows
* Gone to fancy cocktail bars
* Gone on a old war ship from the 1700s and sailed around the Helsinki sea
* Gone rock-climbing
* Played lazertag

*Gone to boardgame cafes and arcades to play games with friends
* Gone to art museums
* Gone to a VR-Games lounge

*Gone on several hikes, as well as mushroom and berry picking in the vast woods
* Gone to the beach and swimming in the sea (Hint, best beaches are in East Helsinki further from Center)
* Gone to the amusement park
*Gone paintballing
* Enjoyed autumn days in the park with some beers
* Gone to an underground techno rave
* Taken an oil painting course

Helsinki is a decent decent for people with hobbies, who like doing things. You'll find lots of ways to entertain yourself if you look out for the places. But yes, they're not exactly easy always for tourists to find, or randomly walk across. In Helsinki, most fun and "hobby" places tend to be annoyingly hidden, so you have to know where you're going.
And there is more to Finland than just our capital
I think Tallin "tries" way harder than Helsinki, as in Tallin really tries to (and succeeds) at gripping tourists with entertaining activities etc.
Tallin is way more preserved and less modern looking too.

4:20 sticking a crowbar inside… so the Fins basicaly went into hand-to-hand combat with a tank.
Yeah it's fucking wild what those young adults did back then bro
At start, the Soviet tanks also had the bad habit of speeding ahead of any infantry that was moving with him. So Finnish troops would sneak to the tanks, climb on top, knock on the hatch. There wasn't any communication between the tanks and infantry, so the tank crews thought this was their soldiers trying to get their attention. When they opened the hatch, the first person got shot, a grenade got chucked in after them and the Finnish soldier pushed the hatch down and sat on it to prevent escape.

For the millionth time I have explained the term "happiness" used in the "happiness index" as someone from Greece moving to Scandinavia, the reality is very simple. Happiness by their definition is closer to carelessness, being able to enjoy basic stuff, and being content with life. It doesn't mean haha all day, nor stupidly being smiley the whole day after someone told you his dog died from extensive diarrhea, nor that you don't have problems in your life and thus coping mechanisms like alcohol, etc.
Honestly, once I moved for an internship in Finland I got to experience that "happiness" and honestly it is so refreshing. Being able to hear some bad news and knowing that you can't change the outcome and that most likely the system is there to make the process smooth is just amazing. Being able to go out and just ignore minor inconveniences is amazing. In Greece where everything is held together by the thinnest string a single unlucky event just snowballs into a terrible week and with a bit of bad luck a whole month can be ruined because you were late once in your job, because the public bus just broke.
The other thing that I love about them is how much they appreciate peace. Anywhere I've been before an uninterrupted day is taken for granted, in Norway and Finland it was very common to hear from others at the end of the day "How nice the day was smooth and easygoing" and the best part about them is that their whole society is built around making sure your day is smooth and easygoing.
God I wish I could afford to move to one of those countries but it says online you need to invest 150,000 US

Just like Greece is technically part of South Eastern Europe, it's literally neighboring the Balkans but it's still considered "Western Europe" because people from Western Europe want to brag about ancient Greek culture and take it as their own.

Except for all the mental health programs that have been going on for the last several decades that are tackling overuse of alcohol and suicide which have led to the decline of this over time
What would they do? The government can't just ban suicide. What would be a solution?
The fuck is the government supposed to do about suicide? Government programs can only get you so far. The roots of the issue are in culture, not in politics. Religion, for instance, is a good institution against suicide and mental problems because it gives meaning to your life and a strong community (which many are lacking in the modern age). Is it any surprise that Finland being one of the most secular countries in Europe, it has also the one of the highest suicide rates. A niche Finland also excels in is death metal. The Finnish scene was known for a strange and unorthodox take on the genre. The best example is probably Demilich, who played in irregular time signatures, used off-kilter riffs and had completely alien vocals, often compared to a burping frog. They only released one full-length album and went largely unnoticed before dissolving in the early 90s, but gained a cult following on the internet and are now regarded as highly influential to the genre. They even reformed and are touring live due to the newfound appreciation. Other great Finnish death metal artists include Rippikoulu, Demigod, Adramelech, Krypts, Slugathor and Galvanizer.
