I really like the Sub to Dub change at 3:49. The exchange of “That’s your problem?!” and “What else would it be?!” does fit and make sense, but I think the dub exchange of “Why is that where your mind goes?!” “Because we need to know!” better emphasizes that, while Laios is going to an odd place with this, its not out of his own obsession with monsters, he really does have his eye on the goal here, and is refusing to take any shit for it.
Given how often in the season his weird digressions are treated as a joke, its a great moment to show just how focused he really is here, that this stuff isn’t just a weird obsession of his.
Yeah, I think the translators did a better job for the dub in this case. I’m not sure why, but the quality of the subs is so inconsistent? Sometimes it keeps very true to the original Japanese but sometimes it tries too hard to be original, which only results in very stilted English.
If I were to translate that part directly into English, it would probably be "How many servings does that make?" "That's not the point!" "No, that's the point!" Neither of these are direct translations of the Japanese.
@@TheStormglassI’m not saying it’s good to be literal lol. That’s what I like about the dub; they make the lines sound natural and fun in English, even though they sacrifice some accuracy.
The direct translation is 'That's not the point,' 'No, that is the point,' but I like both exchanges in the sub and dub. I'm Japanese, and I enjoy seeing the differences and the effort put into English translations in anime.

I like Izutsumi's End dub, you can heard her meowing in surprise and hissing when she anxious. Oh and I love the different way when she yawn in kobold from and cat from, in kobold from she sticking out her tongue (but somehow didn't curled up) and lick her nose after yawning
Lol, I didn't notice it at first but at 2:41 we can see some of the dumplings have hairs on them because Izutsumi helped make them 😅
1:59 and 2:07 Marcel faces from Launching to attack the Gargoyles totally made me laugh at the finale episode before season 2

The English dub is very good, instantly noticed ProZD voicing Senshi and Casey Mongillo voicing Chillchuck, which I think are very good choices.
Im not a weeb so I don’t have any opinion on “sub vs dub” when it comes to accuracy, I just find dub easier to understand.
I would totally love to get a bunch of home cook quick dumplings and play with the changeling circle for variety like they did.
Senshi’s theory about eating the “dragon half” of Falin chimera body is pretty interesting. If that actually works I’d be happy.

Netflix doesn’t have authority over that I believe, they just have exclusive distribution rights and dub rights other than that Trigger decides what to do with it.

It's funny, at a time when anime dubs have gotten, if anything, TOO accurate and too direct in translation, we get such a botched title. Meshi means meal. You could have gone with "Dungeon Dinner" or even Delicious Dungeon I would have forgiven. but IN? As Orson Welles would say, 'show me how you can say delicious IN dungeon and I'll.. go down on you'
It was just meant to sound like Dungeons & Dragons, but I agree it’s not a good title

I bet that was their working title, and WotC (notoriously litigious jerkholes given how much they plagiarize from Tolkien) got on their case.
