DEVOTION, WORD FOR THOUGHT AND PRAYERS WITH APOSTLE ABRAHAM ABODERIN
TEXT: Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Do not allow the difficulties of life to knock you down permanently. Do not lose hope or give up. You have a choice when confronted with a problem you can either focus on it or out your faith in God. There is nothing that is impossible for God to turn around and therefore, hold on. When you are tempted to give in and to give up, refuse!Keep your focus on God and remember His faithfulness through the ages
Jesus endured the pain and suffering of the cross because He could see the joy and glory at the end of it all. Be like our Lord Jesus Christ by focussing on the joy and the victory that is ahead of you. Challenges and setbacks are inevitable, but do not let them define you • As a believer, you will always overcome
WAYS TO HELP YOU PERSEVERE
1. Focus on the why - always remind yourself of your purpose, dreams and aspirations. Let the why be your fuel to motivate you to keep going on
2. Embrace small wins - celebrate every step that takes you forward
3. Seek support - do not try to make it on your own. Find a community of
believers that can uplift you
4. Draw strength from God - He is your ultimate source of strength
The greatest victories often come after the most challenging battles. Use obstacles and challenges as footstones to greater achievements. Nothing is impossible for God to do through you. Take a deep breath, dust yourself off and keep going because God is with you. You were born to flourish and to thrive. The power of the Holy Spirit is working in you and the presence of God is
with you. You are not alone in whatever you may be going through. God will give you the strength to persevere and to overcome.
PRAYERS
Dear Lord, give me the strength to persevere through challenges. Please help me to keep my eyes on the prize and never give up on my dreams. I trust in your guidance and know that with your help, I can achieve anything. In Jesus' name, Amen.
