TOPIC: DESTINED TO BE A KING
DEVOTION, WORD FOR THOUGHT AND PRAYERS WITH APOSTLE ABRAHAM ABODERIN
TEXT: Revelations 1:6 (NIV)
6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father - to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
As a believer you must think and live as a king because God has made you a king. You are destined to be a king.
In the book of Judges, we learn that an angel approached Gideon with the greeting “Mighty man of valour” Gideon did not understand this greeting because he had not done anything that was noteworthy, but God saw what he was on the inside. No matter how you may feel, see yourself as God sees you, which is as a king. Every believer is a king, and we are meant to rule in this world.
God has already made you a king and a priest, and therefore you are to be a king that rules and a priest that ministers. This royal identity is not based on our earthly identity, but rather it is based on our heavenly identity through Christ Jesus. As a believer, you are chosen by God to be part of His royal household. You must embrace your royalty and kingship and you must carry yourself as one.
Carry yourself as a king and move with dignity. Do not look down on yourself because you are a king. Let God’s glory reflect and shine through you. God has given you authority to trample on anything that may want to do you harm. God has given you power over any enemy that may want to stand against you.
Luke 10:19 (NIV)
19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Walking in authority means walking in faith and knowing that no weapon formed against you will prosper. Do not be terrified of any bad dream or news. You are a person with authority from the Creator of the universe. Do not talk anyhow because the words that you speak has authority and power
Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
As you go out make use of the authority that you have by binding and setting loose with your words. A king lives with a kingdom mindset. Go out today to rule. Go out today to conquer. As you go out today, God will provide all that you need. As you go out today, God’s favour will make way for you. As you go out today, align your thinking with that of God’s kingdom. You are destined to be a king and it is a truth that is a present reality. Embrace your royal identity and walk with the authority that you have as a king
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the royal identity and destiny You have given me through Jesus Christ. Help me to embrace my kingship and walk in the authority You have bestowed upon me.
Give me the courage to overcome fear and doubt, and to live with a kingdom mindset, prioritizing Your will and purposes.
May my life declare Your praises and reflect Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen
