Adam Savage’s Tested
This may be an unoriginal joke, but I guess we could say Adam was
*in the room where it happens*
Please do more! As a theatre person myself I love watching these :D
@@larshoeksema As do I!
You are some lucky folks indeed!
i guess Im randomly asking but does someone know a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
You can tell the prop master is finally being able to tell his grievances with someone that understands lol
He's like finally someone knows what I've been through.
So true I bet he goes through a lot thanks to the actors
Tyler Johnson The original propsmaster is actually named Jay Duckworth! He's my props professor at college so I'm totally gonna show him this video in class tomorrow!!!!
MackiiMoviiz please do tell us what he thinks of it!
Finally, someone who understand what he's struggling here to do

If Fiber Fix existed when they filmed Mythbusters, it would be so useful to them... 🥺🥺
Adam: *picks up two chairs for 1 second each* "This one feels lighter. That one was the repaired one..."
That's some skill.
Not his first rodeo, Adam is a legend
@@brandonmays7345 Oh yes, but it's always impressive to watch.
adam savage is both incredibly passionate but also insanely intelligent and skilled. i love him.
A skill honed over many many years
Prop nerd in me: this is so cool!
Theatre actor in me: If it’s not your prop, don’t touch it!
Omg same! I thought it was so fascinating but if I was there I'd be so afraid to touch it because I'd think the director would be behind me and yell at me when I did
Katie Levac It’s a rule that actors are only allowed to touch their props so it doesn’t get lost or unnecessarily handled. OC is saying that’s so ingrained in them it was a reflex reaction.
Katie Levac Just seemed like you didn’t get the joke, why post it if you knew?
@@Yourlocalprimitive sweetie, that isn't a troll. You aren't being funny trying to be so rude either
They literally deleted all their replies 😂
You know you’d think professional actors would be better at not breaking props than Highschool actors
And you’d be wrong
They have more practice in smashing those props.
It would be amusing if an audition graded a performer based on how well they didn't damage a prop instead of acting ability, but you'd end up with a boring show.
School aged actors (I'm a MS TD) have to have more respect for what they work with. They're using the only one and there's usually not a replacement sitting in the wings just in case. Professional shows have people on staff whose job it is to make sure everything works every time.
What looks better throwing a box upstage to show passion or handing it to a chorus member to gently place upstage.
Sometime you just have to accept that so. Etching will get broken and plan accordingly, be it Re enforcing the fuck out of it or having multiples so one can be repaired while the other is used.
as someone who was on stage and behind stage for all of high school and collage you only will be doing the plays 4 maybe 6 times. Wear and tear on items do happen and since they are doing a show a night for months on end the prop is going to wear out faster no matter how good something is made.
6:18 I love it when people catch themselves right before they walk through a shot.

Exactly my feelings about this as well. I want more!

Not as much as when actors hold it.. Because Adam understands the fragility and craftsmanship of a prop, he holds with care..
Adam, you NEED to make your own Hamilton Dueling Pistols for your collection!!!
one day build idea
@@killercrab9228 Was going to say the same thing.
The prop pistols seen here look like they could be from Denix
It's a historical weapons prop manufacturer, I think from Spain
www.denix.es/en/catalogue/historical-weapons-xvi-xix-c/pistols/1043-l/
Normally I'm not very knowledgeable on this sort of stuff but I saw their stuff in a lot of touristy locations in France and got one for myself.
It is indeed from spain my friend, i have bought them a M1911 and a winchester and both are gorgeus. I really recomend it. Here we do love weapons, if you happen to go to Spain dont forget to visit Toledo, seriously, the best place for weapon lovers
@@Astaroth7120 I could not agree more. I was fortunate enough to make the trip in 2006 (helpful tip: don't visit the Mediterranean in summer!), and I was blown away. Such gorgeous masterpieces, and not just weapons and armor. Toledo is also a major center for beautiful Damascene jewelry.
Adam: These pistols must get a lot of abuse.
Me: "These pistols MUSKET a lot of abuse."

"How does somebody break that chair?!" THE LOOK THE PROPMASTER GAVE HIM. Dying of laughter!
8:30 sums up Adam in a second
"holy shit just look at those BRICKS"
5:16 you can pinpoint the moment multiple use cases fly through Adam's mind as he learns of a new material
I love the little detail of the lion head at 10:15, because historically they would call Hamilton little lion because of the shape of his mouth.
Love the petting of the brick walls that Adam did when they crossed sides.
I'd probably pet the bricks too. The SF Orpheum opened in 1926 and is one of the remaining Orpheum Vaudeville houses suitable for theater.
Prop master = hoarder with a job. Gawd bless 'em every one.
You... You... This. Ok. I need to get a t-shirt with this printed on it for the next time I'm props mistress. Once our theaters open back up 😞

Hahaha
I feel you, man. Damn.
Lol that little peak
“If it can be broken an actor will find a way to do it” me, the costumer for my theatre group: indeed
My sympathies as a stage actor.
Adam’s childlike wonder at all the things showcased on Tested is by far my favorite part of the channel.
12 minutes was way too short. I could have easily watched a 2 hour long video of this.
I watched as he methodically fiddled with the trigger...
I never knew how much went into the props in Hamilton on stage, it’s really cool to see behind the scenes! ✨
props are crazy. I know how much work into my high schools production of props and can only imagine how much work on a show like hamilton.
This theater BTS stuff is very cool! I'd love to see more. I'm a rigger and theater technician, and at risk of spoiling the magic, I think there is a lot of very cool technology that a lot of people don't know about that goes into modern theatrical, especially broadway, production. Automation is a relatively new game (it's really been around since the 80s, but the industry is experiencing a lot of growth atm), and it kinda seems right up Tested or Adam's alley to look at the robotics and rigging that make a big show happen. Lifting prop tables and furniture out of the way to make room off stage is only the tip of the iceberg--the Hamilton show looks pretty dang roomy backstage compared to most broadway tours I've worked on.
Adam discovers Fiberfix at 5:22... Looks so happy :D

I can imagine the next one day build being the 2 duelling pistols! Id love to make on of those myself!
If you're a lazy bum like me who'd rather buy one than make it, I think these may be from a historical weapons prop manufacturer called Denix
www.denix.es/en/catalogue/historical-weapons-xvi-xix-c/pistols/1043-l/
@@noah_the_nerd Well, they'll be more screen, er, stage-accurate. I did the same with the flintlock pistol from Predator 2...just bought one and made myself an inscribed sideplate.

I was lucky enough to see Hamilton on Broadway a few years ago - and was in the line to go in behind Adam and his wife! I was too star-struck to say "Hi," but it was one of the coolest moments of my life: seeing a fantastic show with one of my favorite celebrities in the room!
I’m sorry but his little ‘that’ at 5:29 like 15 seconds after he’s literally shocked speechless is what i live for.
"It gets hurled up stage... to the back wall" I love the clarification
I'm squealing in excitement, Adam AND Hamilton? Yesss!!!
I’m new here but I just love how he’s geeking out over props, that’s something I would do 😂
3:39 That's some funny looking greek right there!
Clearly standard Lorem ipsum. You can even read "ipsum" in the text.
Adam Savage LITERALLY touching the bricks as he walks by them... He's such a textile nut. It's so commendable and respectful that he found his calling in live and LOVES it. He's living his dream.

Bless you for lovingly caressing the brick wall as you walk on by. That gesture says so much.
A lovely piece, this video, full of theater spirit.
Used to sit backstage with a couple peices of 2x4 to bang together in case the cap guns failed... god that was fun
Funny how he uploads this on Angelica’s birthday.
being able to see this show last year was one of the best experiences of my life, i was amazed by everything that went into the performance and this video only amplifies my love for this musical.
I love this kind of thing... I went behind the scenes at Glyndebourne theater, in England, and it was exactly this sort of everything is on tracks, or whole 2-tier towers and things on rails, and the loading bay for lorries is a huge lift to bring the bed of the lorries down to match the stage... And there's just so much awesome mechanics you never see from your seat.
I love how he just touches the walls as they walk around, like everything is equally precious
IM SHAKING!!
This is great video

The Founding Father of the show, too, has a great legacy- and will continue to be
I love how passionate Adam is about everything he sees. That enthusiasm is so infectious.
You can tell that Adam really is excited, the way he touches the brick wall is definitely something I would do. It shows he really loves the show and is just amazed to be there!
Watching Adam hold and talk and geek out about the props ... that moment of pure joy you can see ... it's a thing of beauty.
They're both so excited talking about props, I love this
i just love Adams glee and excitement when he gets to handle cool props brings a smile to my face every time thankyou

adam and tested, i love these types of videos. the behind the scenes are so great to watch especially seeing adam light up like a small child over the smallest details. love it.
You just brought one of the O.G dudes of mythbusters on the set of Hamilton.. my nostalgia and musical lover self is flipping out rn.
This is amazing! Thank you for bringing us along!
Just saw the show at the Fox Theater in Atlanta! Was so excited to tell my Mom and Sisters about these little behind the scenes details!
These videos are always amazing. Seeing Adam getting all giddy like he's a kid in a candystore is just so uplifting
The look on Adam's face just tells how much he enjoys this. It's so great to see that! Keep your work up. So inspiring!
Yes! I've always wanted to watch Hamilton and i love the CD i got for my birthday. So i'm super excited to watch this video!
Next one day build: Hamilton’s dueling pistol
That much detail into the paper... this is why I love Hamilton
Adam, I got obsessed with Hamilton back in 2016 after listening t a brand new podcast with YOU on it called The Room Where It's Happening!
What an awesome perspective. This was fascinating to get a sneak peak of the props and some background on whats happening backstage. Which cool to watch.
Seeing Adam geeking out makes my heart happy.
I appreciate that the London and San Diego sets look the same
Adam Savage/Mythbusters and Hamilton OH MY GOSH MY FAVORITE THINGS
I got to work as a stagehand in the props department for this show and as a set builder, and it was a fascinating experience, and seeing all this showed off on video when I just got done working around all of it is kind of surreal
The pure joy in this video is amazing
I love how excited he is seeing everything!
THIS IS SO COOL!! Props and stage design are always so interesting!
The detail is amazing I love it.
I didn’t get to do my senior year of stage crew for my school’s musical because of COVID and seeing the tape on the ground to mark where things go and the talk about broken props bring me back
I could have watched hours of this footage. I'm so glad there are people like me who get excited over props
It is TRULY impressive how MUCH content this channel is able to put out on such a consistent basis. I know the recent Rickshaw Build got some flak for not being as 'traditional one-day builds' as the others, but MAN, I was thinking about it today in the shower, and for as MUCH content you guys put out... You must work really hard and I respect that big-time.
Adam, sewing how happy you are makes me so happy.
I love how genuinely happy he looks
It's great seeing two nerds geek out over the props and talking techniques on how to repair them, like the chair repaired with the fiber fix
After listening to the soundtrack for years I finally got to see Hamilton last December. These videos are cool to see what happens behind the scenes
I just love how fanboyish Adam gets about everything, so glad your on CZcams
Adam being fascinated never ceases to entertain! He is an expert in so many ways but he is still constantly learning and enjoying every bit of it.
I love seeing Adam geek out to this. Just his fascination in infectious
