      Thank you for this information I've always wondered how they. Stopped the products they used back then from ruining their clothing.
      A lot of day to day information from the past. Gets lost over time because it's considered so everyday common place. At the time that no one bothers to record it.
      A really good example is Roman concrete. We know that the Romans invented it. & used it in construction of works like the Colosseum.
      But because it was such a common everyday item that no one felt it was worth recording what exactly it was composed of.
      Archaeologists have a rough idea of what it was made out of. But no known records of its exact composition ratio survive.

    • @peterporkeristhespiderham988
      @peterporkeristhespiderham988 Před 4 lety +67

      ELLESAPPELLE That’s true... But having visible mics was a smart creative choice (IMO) for Hadestown. The meta-narrative of the show is that it's a sad story where the actors are the storytellers (Hermes, specifically). You see this in the very beginning and end of the show. Plus, the set design communicates the meta narrative. The obvious mics help communicate that the actors are playing actors/storytellers who are acting out the story. They're not pretending to be the characters. They're pretending to be storytellers. The obvious microphones help communicate that.
      There is a benefit for having subtle microphones for some shows (Hamilton and DEH, for example). But, obvious microphones can be an interesting and beneficial design component.

    Question for people who know stuff about wigs and makeup. I cosplay and usually we cut the wig lace as close to the hairline as possible. Is there any reason for them leaving so much lace? I feel like it would be hard to blend into the forehead naturally 🤔

    • @inemesitabasiisaac2911
      @inemesitabasiisaac2911 Před 2 lety

      Well, I think it's because the person playing the king can change and the extra lace is to accommodate that.
