I've noticed that people who move to NY forget that NYC isn't just Manhattan it's the other boroughs too (minus SI, we hate her) So like there's normal targets in the other boroughs. Another benefit to having a car. BUT if you want a bigger one in Manhattan go to the union square one

It's not stupid to have a car in NYC. It makes a lot of stuff easier actually, like grocery shopping and especially leaving the city. It's so hard to leave to city or even just the borough you live in. I say get a car if your building has a garage

I'm from NYC so I 100% understand how !!depressing!! the winters are.. I moved away to Colorado 3 years ago and the intensity of the sun is BRAIN CHANGING and life changing. I actually love winter now when I've always dreaded it. But I'm so happy youre able to have the balance of having basically a second home on the west coast!! if you know, you know. it's not dramatic at all lolol

i have a car in the city! it feels great because my family is on long island and its easier to get out of the city, especially during the summer. deff worth it to get around, usually take the FDR. can be annoying at times because of traffic...but overall i love having it here.

My grandparents go to Southern California every winter cause Vancouver is grey and raining for at least 6 months of the year and they need their golfing all year round we call it snow birds (people who go to sunny places to escape snow) idk if it’s called that in other places

I get the car thing 🤚🏻 my car is absolutely obliterated being worked on in the shop rn and I have to drive a rental. My car is a 2010 Honda sedan, the rental is a 2023 jeep compact SUV. I never realized how much I don’t like about all the insane differences. I decided that if they did total my car I would literally just get the exact same one and stick to it. It’s not icky to have preferences on the car and it’s differences in how it works 🫶🏻
