Can-Am, X3 or Maverick sport xrc, did I buy the wrong machine?

  • Did I buy the right machine? Here is my comparison of the X3 and the Sport XRC. I hadd the chance to drive this X3 from Jorgensen Power sports and took it. what are the results? take a look and see which one is better for how I ride.

The X3 is more like a race car where the Sport is more for off road. But both are great, but you did buy the correct one for what you like to do.

when i was looking and just sitting in the seats at the showroom, i did NOT like the seating position of the x3. i had read many comments about the limited visibility and at the time agreed that it was bad. like you and others have said, depends on what you are using it for. i have the sport xmr and love it. i finally drove an x3 on a trail ride and was much more impressed than i thought i was going to be. that being said, for my riding style, still like my sport better.

  • @utahvalleysxsx3trailriders320

Takes a while to get used to the seat low but once you do there is no going back. The OG maverick 2012 frame cant compare to a x3. I raised my seat up a bit to be able to see better over steep hill climbs.

I enjoyed your video and your view of the two machines. Personally, I have the Maverick XRC like you, and I ABSOLUTELY love it as well! I have a Grandson with the X3, and it does go fast, but like you, I like riding trails, and the X3 is just to big. Keep your video's coming!

I struggled with this decision. After much deliberation, some rides , and setting in both, I compromised and am picking up a new ‘19 120HP X3 X RC for just over 18K. I felt it’ll give me plenty of power for most of my riding with waaay more available for not a lot more work or money. First thing I’ll do is adjust the seat to be more upright. Either way, I feel they’re both some of the best made, most well rounded UTV’s available. I enjoy your channel!

I have been dealing with this decision which has felt like forever which one is better for me and my family. Still haven't made my decision. But I love your channel and your machine definitely looks bad ass blacked out and chopped the way you have it. Great job.

Nice video & analysis - I thought it was very fair to both machines. For mountain and trail riding that we do, the Maverick Sport XRC gets my vote all the way.

2020 Maverick X3 X RC that is a badass machine 195 horsepower it's got all the stuff that you want for your ride. But it is 30000 + I have a 2018 X3 X RC it has been a lot of fun

After watching your video and ready the comments, I too have struggled with this decision? I think Can am needs to make a combination of both these machines. Cab and seating (love the doors) of the sport and the power (N.A. and turbo variant )suspension of the x3 (arched trailing arms for the rear). and 15" bead locks should be standard (more tire choices). While your at it, how about live valve shocks. That would be nice.

i meant to add, you mentioned the 4 point harnesses. i don't have a ton of experience with different brands of harnesses. i drove a rzr with a set of proarmor. they were ok and i liked them better than the stock belt. i just installed a set of the Simpson D3 with the sub belt (5th point). went with them b/c they don't use the sternum strap. aside from a better restraint, they are unbelievably comfortable and you wouldn't think it, but soooooooo much more comfortable than the stock seat belt. highly recommend.

I just traded my sport for the X3 XRC. Once i put the seat in the lower position it made a world of difference and I now find it much more comfortable then the sport. There are two bolts in the front put it in the lower makes a world of difference. There is no comparison in the two machines the suspension is so much nicer on the x3. The handling is much better then my sport. I was in this same spot as you. I just got bored with the power of the sport. It does everything I would want it to do but just got boring. The x3 has so much power you can have a lot more fun. The other thing I like about the X3 is although it overall is probably louder then the sport its less annoying. The Sport at higher speeds really gets annoying on the ears. I did this back and fourth over if I was making a mistake getting rid of the Sport. After putting some time in on the x3 I would never go back to a sport unless trail size was an issue.

@@gregcandor2562 The steering is great on the sport. The sport is a phenomenal machine. I would say its the right machine for most people. If you want more speed and want to be able to light the tires a up and drift at will then the x3 is the machine you would want. Also the suspension is much better on the x3 but a lot of areas you really do not get to use the suspension to its maximum.

Both amazing machines. We have a 2019 Maverick X3 XRS 72 wide. I thought the same as you with the 4 points but after owning the x3 for a year I would never go back to single belt as they are so comfortable. .We also have a 2019 Maverick XRC like yours and will be adding the 4 points. Both handle amazing on the trails . Merry Chridtmas

They both have their place. They both get most all jobs done. So we bought one of each and also tried the regular sport.
The xmr xrc xxc models get missed up as the sports. They are quite superior in suspension and ride height. Tires etc.
Ones a duner by trade and ones Backcountry built!!! You got the right one id say.
Now. Take my X3 away 195 HP and ask me that again.... Be tough.
Regardless, ergonomics is best in Sport models.

Funny you ask if picked right one..
Wait till you have both...every ride you'll ask which is right one to take. When ride is over you can't help but to think how other one woulda done it. Unless you take both which I try to lol
