  • If you are in the market for a new UTV capable of both trail riding and rock crawling, we've got a great comparison for you! We took the 2020 Polaris RZR XP 1000 Trails and Rocks Edition and the 2020 Can-Am Maverick Sport X RC to Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) in Coal Township, PA to run a heads up comparison of both machines. Both UTV's performed incredibly well. This video will provide you with a taste of the action and then we break down the specifics of each UTV/SxS, with a specific discussion about engines, transmissions, suspension, wheels and tires, dimensions, and creature comforts. In the end, we provide our thoughts on each machine's strengths and what we feel they'd be most capable of doing.
At the end of the day, the amount of technology that has gone into both of these amazing UTV's is incredible! You won't go wrong buying either one, but if you are a discerning consumer, we'll provide you with all the details you'll want to make the best decision about purchasing.

With owning both of these brands I would shy away from Polaris due to reliability. Polaris are good when new but tend to need more maintenance and more often in my experience. I have also owned atvs of both brands and same way. I grew up with Polaris and have changed to Can Am.

Awesome comparison. I have a 2019 XRC and was very close to buying the Polaris, I have zero regrets about my Can Am XRC. I put almost 2,500 miles on it last winter relentlessly pounding on it in the Arizona rocks and trails. Outstanding machine.

Very good comparison. I’m also from northeast PA, it’s mostly trail riding for me. I just purchased the XRC and coming from a commander it is night and day. Love the machine. Great video.

I have the x package maverick. I put 34s on it. Out crawl anyone in the trails. Cab comfort the best. Only thing I liked about my rzrs more was visability bit better. My opinion lol.

Eliminating the music in the background would’ve been awesome!

Great video. Just got my 2020 xrc and rode it last weekend in Vermont. My previous ride was a 2015 xp 1000 desert edition which is similar to the Rocks and Trails. The xrc feels significantly more nimble on the trails and it high speed corners so flat which was surprising. Granted the springs need to break in and settle, but the rzr has a much softer and pillow-like ride quality. Can am fit and finish is the best though. Untouchable.

I’m guessing that for the $2100 difference you could probably replace the wheels and add some lights to the Maverick which would cover two of the shortcomings you mentioned and end up with a better all around rig.

For as much as these machines are they should have a roof as standard equipment

Great Comparison, of the two machines, thanks for sharing. Does the Polaris come with a winch as standard, like the XRC does? Once again, Great content!

Did you do any decibel testing in the cab of either one by chance?

Also the Polaris comes with LED lights and harnesses. I have the Can-Am and wish it came with those things.

I believe you forgot to say the Can-Am has excellent engine breaking or Polaris does not just saying
