How to craft the best possible weapon for your setup/build in Nioh

- When it comes to min-maxing you either do it or don't - there is no middle ground. If you have decided to actually go for it and optimize your gear for the setup/build you use - I've got some cool tips for you.
Today I talk about that one cool trick that allows you to get a hefty discount when it comes to smiting services, I explain why a 5 straight affix divine weapon is the most optimal base for upgrading, all while breaking down the best options when it comes to possible affixes you can get.
Before you jump into the pool, make sure to have a FAT32 USB flash drive in order to back your saves up and roll when necessary, this way you can keep trying to win the lottery without wasting any time to grind.
Ideally you should look for a close combat damage up or skill up modifiers, as well as A+ bonus in familiarity and A+ in whatever the main stat you use.... don't forget to get a nice support affix in form of elemental damage to accommodate the set bonus (I know all of you wear that red demon set).
At the end of the day I'm sure there are some odd affixes that can be useful for your build/setup, like for example final blow modifier bonus (its actually pretty useful in general) and some other, cool stuff. There are plenty of cool affixes in Nioh, so I encourage healthy discussion - share your favorite affixes and whatnot.

You can overwrite any inheritable. Your spear wasnt getting that close combat damage because it already had a damaging stat applyed to it. If you removed Agility Damags Bonus that Inheritable close combat would be applied through soul matching no problem

honestly right now my favorite stat on the weapon is "close combat recovery", getting those 200hp back after killing some trash with 2-3 hits, on ng+ im gonna change my mind probably but right now its so helpfull
Once you get to the farming stage on NG+, you'd want the most DPS out of your gun :P

El Duderino definitely a stat Not to have if you are using infinite guardian in critical mode with fanatic armor.

apparently it seems you activate blacksmith dialogue through main mission completion, at least from my experience thus far. Spamming it is probably pointless knowing that.

The elements works as logic, as if a yokai has fire, I use a magic spell of water, will that produce more damage??
neptune, when you put agi bonus A on a bow/gun in your first slot it applies to your CC weapon as well. it's a global bonus.
not sure how many of them do or if its just the AGI bonus as an exception but i know for sure that one is global

Damage from behind is actually better than close combat as inherit though, i've gotten it to go up to 30% with a +10 & max familiarity, Close combat i could only get it to 20% sadly, trade off is you can hit them anywhere with close combat, But it's very easy to get behind most enemies in this game, especially using Flux low stance dodge passive thingy. forgot the name of it.
Well, bs damage is still more situational... but I guess it makes sense if you're using katana.

critical affixes often dont override the normal one so i can run double "less ki consumption" on my hyper mode build
Can't say I am surprised, but I doubt that it comes close to the efficiency of just stacking up boost affixes.
Sadly, Close Combat Attack (Critical) does conflict with Close Combat Damage et al., but it has a higher range of magnitudes and can be increased further with the Fanatic full set bonus (Critical bonuses increased by 50%)
critical affixes always stack with the non critical version of the same affix but from my own bit of testing they don't seem worth it. might be a stat combo that would make them good though
It's not possible to stack both Close Combat Damage and Close Combat Attack (Critical) on the same weapon.
It's also not possible to stack both Evasion Ki Usage and Dodge Ki Usage (Critical) on the same pair of boots or trousers.
the dmg bonus from attack is flat? so if i already have 3200 kusarigama ill make it to 3350 with 150+ attack? how ppl do so much dmg on the way of nioh then?

Wait wait wait close combat damage on a weapon does not increase skill damage but only normal quick attacks and heavy attacks? This really needs to be tested. As for tips, it's always good to have your main ranged weapon with the agility bonus damage skill since it also affects your melee weapons. And if it's really true that close combat damage only affects normal attacks and not skills then it's better to go with max familiarity damage bonus even though it's 5% less damage at least it will be for all your attacks. But we really need to confirm this first.
I am quite sure that is incorrect information. He is basically inferring that since they both exist then they are completely independent of each other. There is a reason that skill damage is listed as a white affix and has( at least i think) a higher potential than close combat damage, which is listed in blue as it is a rarer affix.
Yeah this was my first thought as well.
From my testing and watching numbers, close combat is all inclusive and effects all damage dealt without a ranged weapon. However, if you use a lot of skills, you want to roll a skill damage in place as it tends to have higher percentage mods.
Do you happen to know the skill damage cap roll on a weapon?
Typically the close combat at 999 familiarity on weapon will cap at like 21%, but I've seen skill damage go as high as 28% so far. I know there's some range variables in there but as far as what I've seen personally on skill damage is 28%. There's a reforge table here that Neptune posted, check his link.

do you have to be online to fight against dead revenant players? seems like i haven't fought them.
Without being online, you'll only see the NPC revenants that Team Ninja put in places. They often times have poor gear and aren't truly worth the time spent on them. They do however offer up glory which is useful later on at the tea house. But in order to see other player's revenants, you'll need to be connected.

I hope PvP will be level capped dojo brawl. As for my build - I don't see much point, its min-maxed for double sets Honda/Demon, everything else is in Body.

so i dont get it, if i get a NON inhertible main stat, which firts mine, i cant combine CCD? or which of them is more effective? i also have 17.5 back damage inherit on sword i didnt even see how much is it with max familiarity, but can it combine with CCD or CTA?
You gotta experiment. Can't know for sure yet.
Damage from behind clashes with CCD, CCD is more optimal.
Change to Attack only conflicts with other Change to Attacks and Onmyo Magic Damage Bonus as far as I'm aware, separate category from CCD and Damage from behind.

It cant let you transfer affixed effects on items if the affect is already on the item 😂😅 thats the reason you cannot transfer item effects that have a mutal effect already on the present item
