As much as i want it to happen, Octopath 2 has been a "flop" in japan for whatever reason ( poor marketing, oversaturated market who has the same graphics etc ... ). Hence, i belive Occtopath 2 is the last one. They'll only keep it as a gacha.
It sold poorly ? I thought the game crossed the million copies sold a couple of months after coming out. For a smaller game like that, it's rather a good news, I would believe ?
I love how the land themes reflect their inhabiting characters so well. Toto'haha/Ochette: Adventurous and upbeat Harborlands/Castti: Determined but peaceful Brightlands/Throné: Unexpected but charming Winterlands/Osvald: Sorrowful but hopeful Wildlands/Partitio: Daring and courageous Leaflands/Agnea: Graceful and sweet Crestlands/Temenos: Bold but gentle Hinoeuma/Hikari: Resolute but tranquil I know that Osvald is actually from the Harborlands and Castti was a traveling apothecary, but its just something I wanted to point out
I can't believe after playing since launch last June, I'm still hearing new tracks in CotC. Just did Yunnie's story on Wednesday and it had 2 tracks I'd never heard before with guitar music! Octopath music is so damn awesome!

Hell yeah. As someone who grew up listening to smooth jazz all my live, it blew me away. Jazz like that in general is too rare in games. That's one thing I liked about Breath of Fire 3's soundtrack. It had a lot of those vibes.
When I finished the game not so long ago, I didn’t want it to end, whether it was the beloved characters, the music or the aesthetics, I loved every minute of it, I haven’t been so hook to a game since the good old days of ff franchise, thank you Square for producing this masterpiece of a game.

Don't get me wrong, I like them, but I can not remember a single one from the first game. I'm sure I'll never forget the overworld themes from this game.
I’ve realized over the last few years that, more than anything else, I want to play beautiful games. The moment I stepped outside Flamechurch and heard 38:53 I was awestruck. I just stood there for five or six minutes digesting the cool tones of the solo flute meeting and interweaving with the warm strings and rising to a powerful crescendo before settling back to earth. I knew this journey was going to be something special.

Octopath Traveler 1 was the first game I bought on the Switch. I had never seen anything like it before, even though I was already a fan of JRPGs I'd never seen a game that got me not to skip through random encounters and actually play them out every time. And 2 does everything the first one does better, and then some!
Octopath Traveler 1 was also the first game I bought on the Switch, and it's the first JRPG I ever played, that's why it has a very special place in my heart.

I have to finish Bravely Default 2 first after I'm done with Octopath Traveler 2, then 13 Sentinels, Xenoblade DE, another Triangle Strategy replay,...the list goes on and on! 😆
What makes Harbordlands (both day and night) bgm standout is the scale of the music feels epic, like watching a blockbuster on a big screen and also feels like watching a top-tier HBO show.

Flamechurch day and night gives me the feels. I immediately loved it, which is very rare for me. So I knew it was special. The transitions are amazing in this game.
The night time theme at 1:19:15 take the crown for me as best melody. Could listen to that forever. Found myself just getting lost looking at the pretty glowing world map with that track playing in the background 🤤 lol
I lowkey feel like the sound quality is better here than in the game. Because like the part when they are singing the melody very light an detached like is very hard to hear in game

The flamechurch themes are so beautiful and hopeful. Both the day and night themes. My personal favorite themes off the soundtrack! Thanks for this video!
It's also interesting how Castti's theme uses the same instruments as Ophilia's. Both things makes me feel she's the most reminiscent character from the first game into the OST
I thought that as well, back when I first played the first Octopath, and then COTC... Then they just casually dropped Octopath Traveler 2 OST. I don't know, they might drop Octopath 3 someday and peak again.
Definitely gonna have to replay this soon. Was only my 3rd platinum ever, and already miss playing it and seeing all these wonderful characters and hearing the amazing music

Between this one and toto'haha for the region themes for sure. Crestlands is up there too. Honestly they're all amazing lol. The whole soundtrack is very hard to rank and that's what makes it so good.
I haven't been able to find it anywhere but my favourite track in the game besides maybe fierce confrontation has to be the night theme in stormhail. It's so soothing and relaxing. The music in this game seems to emanate a unique kind of rpg nostalgia

Partitio's theme is S-tier. The Smooth Jazz of Octopath. I fucking LOVE it. It's so chill but has so much swag to it

Partitio's theme hits out of nowhere in the game, I was floored. Had to stop and listen to it at that part for a few minutes.
The Stormhail theme really hits differently after finishing Temenos’s Chapter 3. The whole town reminds me of Rimedahl from Bravely Default 2.

Octopath Traveler & the series is definitely my all-time favorite JRPG series, besides the Legend of Zelda games of course lol… but this is definitely just what I needed to get back to sleep! Thank you, and here’s hoping I’ll be remembered down the line by ya! :)

Between this one and toto'haha for the region themes for sure. Crestlands is up there too. Honestly they're all amazing lol. The whole soundtrack is very hard to rank and that's what makes it so good.

I haven't been able to find it anywhere but my favourite track in the game besides maybe fierce confrontation has to be the night theme in stormhail. It's so soothing and relaxing. The music in this game seems to emanate a unique kind of rpg nostalgia

@@tomyang641 yea, it caught me off guard the first time i heard it. usually the stereotype of primitive tribe music is about percussion, but suddenly it is majestic. totohaha is not your typical ungabunga tribe people. really great
