    After watching tons and tons of hours of blockchain technology and crypto, you've summed this up in about six minutes extremely well 😂. Great great share dude.

    I think you should do a series and explains some of the nuances of this tech as it being more widely adopted everyday in all aspects of our lives. But great video! I love how easily you broke it down for us older millinials

    I love this! I am currently studying psychology, and I am able to apply many of these concepts to human learning. All that stuff about central authority and credibility? The creation of a single point of failure? Genius! Thank you so much for showing me a completely new aspect of the world that I had no idea about!! You've helped me a lot :D

    I liked your comment about do your research. But there is always the issue of quality of sources, and verification. Neal Stephenson's new book has block chain being used to verify identity of videos and posts. In the time of fake news and deep fakes I think it is needed.

    I would have to disagree with one portion of this if someone does a 51% hack of blockchain they could theoretically change the distributed ledger thus for changing back blocks and gain control of future blocks thus for manipulating blockchain it's very hard and very improbable but it's happened with several other altcoins

    To falsify the Ledger you need to conduct an "pre computational attack" to cause a "fork". This used to be unfathomable as it would require an substantial amount of cpu processing no single person has. However, as you know Etherium suffered from one such attack which shut them down for quite some time. The threat actors were able to cause the fork, predetermine the block chain, thus giving themselves the answers to the ledger in advance. They pre-cashed out the block chain, so when others who legitimately solved these equations could not because they were already solved. This computation power has come in large part due to malware and botnets stealing a little cpu power from thousands of victims allowing massive computational power to be used to "predict" the block chain. That is the single point of failure with Blockchain/Bitcoin currency. This type of attack is easier than you might think, and most malware content hosting services will help you with customer support for their attack platforms for a fee.

    • @illernpiller
      @illernpiller Před 3 lety

      Well you can trade it but to just buy and hold works really well but be prepared that it's a highly volatile asset and can go up or down several percent in a few minutes. But if you look at it long term it has only been going up. But I'd suggest you go to Coinbase, register an account a buy a bit then start learning about it.

    You know it's very much like the Bible, now I went to Catholic school for my whole school career. I've probably read it through once or twice, I was asked one time to sum the Bible up in one sentence, which the person asking said was impossible. I thought about it for a couple minutes and came up with "A book of morals on how to live life better". Which is kind of the principal behind the damn thing, and people always argue that it has remained unchanged since it was put together. This is a complete fallacy up untill the printing presses was invented it was only monks and whoever was in charge at the time that could read and write. Who's to say a ruler or pope decided to change a few things to suit how they wanted people to live their lives. I know this has been a long rant but I think has a connection with your point about how people are having a hard time moving away from this one central governing Party and moving to a chain like system. Governments don't know how to compute the thought of this system because they no longer have full control. A government like the US has so many bad habits and secrets they can't afford to have copies of thing that happen.
