80 sick riffs from the 1880's
YES!
Played on 800 lutes.
00 Riffs from the 00s on 0 Guitars in 0 Minutes
Amazing!
Very lame
this is the first video every decent musician starts with.
Amazing man you rock
You prolly dont care but does any of you know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any tips you can give me
80s guitar had the greatest riffs of all time. Nothing really compares. Virtuous guitarists!
"Women in Love" is from Van Halen II which was released in 79
And what’s your point
ZAYDEN WELCH it’s not an 80s song technically
Yeah so cherry pie was made in 1990 so you’re not really original or cool for correcting him. He probably means 80s style or close enough kinda stuff
asks if you can name them all
gives title at the right bottom
Thug
thug life
Maybe he was referring to the guitars ;)
Only thing missing is some priest and maiden.
Slenderspartan Agreed! Robert Baker's channel is definitely consistently unique and inspiring.
As I waited...it never came
those are two of my favorite bands! definately should have been on the list
And more extreme metal
Glad to see Ratt getting the recognition they deserve! They are so underrated! My favorite riff is You're In Love \m/
Shane Train damn straight Ratt is my favorite band and they are underrated as hell
Maybe Ratt is but, Warren DeMartini gets his well earned props.
YESS!!! GREAT PICK \m/
there ok
They were glam metal, a literal fad, it's about what you Should have expected.
Awesome job man! Love how you put them together, nearly seamless! 🤘🏼👽🤘🏼
Exactly what you heard when you walked into a music store in the 80s
You don't say?
I really really love 80's songs. Also love the guitars from that period:) I liked all the songs but those dokken and van halen riffs I like the most. :D
So good i was waiting for this for a while, great Job these riffs are killer, you have really good tastes man !
The van halen 5150 riff was the best one ;)
Say What You Will - by Fastway
Not a very well known band today, but the name searches real well! It's a nice rolly-riff to warm up with.
Check out "Jailbait" by Motorhead
The sad part is that I recognized all of those riffs, the good thing was that I recognized all those riffs. But in those days, we had some of the best music there was, today's music can't even hold up against these classics. Although I will say that you were a bit too heavy on the distortion for many of the songs.
So good! Makes me wanna go right back to my 80ies vinyls and jam along! Sick collection of axes too!
EXCELLENT!! Great job Baker!
That was fucking cool man. You took me right to the 80s and high school all over again. I remember spending countless hours recording those songs from LPs to cassette and listen them in the car with beer and good friends!
Only 1 White Lion, we need some more Vito Mr Baker!!! Great video and well executed.
Rhythm in 80s are not even pure chords, 00s it becomes basic chords, 10s it's generated from software. Now people ask why I prefer sticking to 80s music as a guitarist?
Had so fun with this video! Great songs selection! If you want 10 mnts of headbanging this a great video for that!
The main riff in Still of the night is still one my favorites.
You're great Rob! I've learned a lot from you
thanks homie
Cool I love playing some of these riffs!
Nice that TNT got a shout out. One of the most underrated bands from the 80s!
Come on dude where was 'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits?!?!?!???!?!?!?!?!
Classic 80s riff!!!!!!
Great job..I always dig your vids! Whats the guitar your using starting at 2:38..Enquiering minds wanna know??
Yowza, I got calluses just watching that. Great job Robert I grew up on that music....still do. You reminded me of a few I havent heard in ages. Keep it up
Very impressive. Your tone and chops are wonderful. Thanks for including Faster Pussycat- they don't get much press these days.
Thank you dude.I have to re-learn "Bark at the moon"Again....Great job.Subscribed,
Keep rocking amazing love 1980’s music
Loved your playing - very skilled! I must not be much of an audiophile 'cause I couldn't hear the difference between the 8 guitars. They all had the same sound to me (distortion effects pedal).
Love those guitars, especially the crackle!!
Killer tone Robert!!
Dokken & ratt riffs everywhere!!!
Booger RS IMO the best hair metal bands
Love your sound dude
great vid dude..and whats the name of that purple guitar?
Brilliant! And Billy Squier! You, Sir, are the king of the 80s!
Well done man! Those transitions doe....fun watch!!! I wonder if we're related?
I was hoping to hear XYZ's Inside Out...it's one of my fav riffs from the 80's
Awesome vid, that little snippet and amp settings didn’t do One justice... that song is a masterpiece
Ah man, thank you for throwing def leppard in there! I've been practicing that song for a while now. It's definetly my most favorite def leppard song of all time!
Literally every song is 🔥love all the dokken in here 🤘
This is my favorite era/style of guitar riffs and rock in general.
Would have liked some maiden, priest, twisted, dio but heck man well played bravo ive watched this a few times very impressed sir!!!!!
Bulletboys, Tora Tora, Dirty Looks, Saigon Kick, Shotgun Messiah, so much guitar goodness in the Eighties!
i wanna know what brand g tar is the flame maple one the orange on thats sick what do you play through me i play carvin v3 into a marshall cabs with vintage 30s ghs strings 10 fender black crackle picks im a huge lynch rhoads evh etc fan of 1 gtar player to pull off lead and rhythm thats tough
For a young guy you sure know your 80's Hard Rock. Well done!
Pour some some sugar on me?! Where is it!
true
Geeze......its like you downloaded a flash drive of what I have stored in my head when I think back to the times when I was in jr high and highschool LOL!
I'm really digging that raspberry (??) Finish guitar run the maple fretboard. What is it? The headstock looks like a Suhr, but it didn't look like it said that.
Why didn’t you play sweet child o’ mine on the Les Paul!?!?
My same fucking thought
I Love the sound of that TELE amazing !!!
Nice studio,great playing.....
So much riffs... i've got an overdose of riffs!!!
These tones are making my hair stand up more than Aqua Net. Absolutely love it!! These are tones I am looking to hit.
Awesome man \m/ 😎
Where did you get the crackle guitar you had at the end?
0:03 😂 Great video
More Dokken riffs than any other haha great I love it
YnT ! Saw them many times in the 80's. Nice!
Only ones I missed were the songs by Winger and Nitro. Amazing video!
Freight Train! Can’t believe that made the list. That riff is so much fun to play
that was awesome!!!!
Where was Forever Young by Tyketto? ;-) Such a great riff. Cheers Robert. Great channel.
Awesome. How do you get that tone?
Malmsteen’s Queen in Love got oversimplified, but you admitted end of video that you might have messed up one or two, that plus the sleep deprivation and that I appreciate the inclusion of Queen in Love and it’s all good. It would take me weeks to learn all of that. One sleepless night shows you’ve got a good musical memory. Love the channel. 🙂
I'm curious. What are you using to get that predominate tone?
I loved the video, but I can't help but feel you were doing songs like Skid Row's "Piece of Me" without the raw emotion and nastiness that makes the song so awesome in the first place.
Did anyone else notice that Van Halen and Ozzy had more riffs than any other, proof that Van Halen and Ozzy Obsborne are 2 of the greatest
Ozzy Osbourne was a singer, he doesn't write riffs you fool
@@onutube6392 i meant randy lol, my bad
@@welchysawse the council of thrash will decide your fate
what guitar brand is the third guitar? looks like a parker pm 20?
Superb mate, gotta say ,a nice humbucker fitted in your strat would be the best sounding geetar in your arsenal,,,there's something about the design that has magic in it !
That's a lot of riffage well done thanks for taking me back to high school
That charvel is awesome.. reminds me of jack butler/steve vai..
it totally has that vibe
What model of Charvel is that? Looks like a Fusion from 1989.
That was pretty rad...
Awesome Video.
Love that you included INXS!
Scared the sh’t outta me when you came rollin into my screen, love it
You put a lot of work in there dude. Nice job
In the 80s a ton of riffs in A.
All rock /metal nowadays is in E Or whatever the lowest string is tuned to.
I’m building an 80’s shredder, it’s a SSH CONFIGURATION. What Will be great Neck and middle pickups for that awesome 80’s metal sound?
I ordered a custom shop Jackson soloist based on a screenshot of that fire crackle Charvel. I’m pretty excited, should be here in about 8 months
I like the figuring on the fingerboard of the Acacia.
That was AWESOME
Friedman be 100 deluxe is the ultimate 80s metal amp
🤘🤘Get'cha pull!!
I wish I could Play that good. Your awsome bro.
I like that sunburst
I Love This List, Love Seeing Multiple Def Leppard Poison And Cinderella Those are my top 3 favourite bands in that order EDIT they Are Very Underrated although they were big in the 80s
Cool Man
Lol
Great choice of music
We got a Ratt fan here? I like it
rhys strawbridge bro Ratt is my shit. Personally they are my favorite 80's hair band
Best 10:25 minutes of my day.
Always cool !! Any chance of a 5150 lesson ?
You should do a video of Ratt Riffs for beginners!, that band has some sick riffs!!
HOLY SHIT DUDE!!!!!! i just drank a whole 12 pack in that 10 mins.just kiddin.. that was absolutely awesome well done!!!! You are a rocker thru and thru dont let anyone tell you different bro!!!! Dammmnn i love the 80's😉😉🤘🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🍻🍻🍻🍺🍺🍺
I like the you have the songs in order
How did you get this awesome tone?
Nice Roland strat, I have the same one, but I found mine on the roof if a hotel
Te-RIFF-ic \m/
too many people - who usually weren't THERE - think the 80s was JUST the crap stuff, like the dudes with hairspray and spandex, but there was sooooooooooo much awesome stuff, riffs, iconic songs, etc. from that era... EVERY musical period has its GARBAGE, so to judge an era in whole by its flops is ludicrous. Take Twisted Sister - too many people see the image and never even hear the killer tunes like "Stay Hungry" or "You Can't Stop Rock & Roll".
The further removed from the 80s we get the more I feel like it was the best decade of all time.
I saw Twisted Sister playing support to Alice Cooper in England a few years back (quite a few years I think lol), they were utterly brilliant and tbh were much the better act on the night.
Twisted sister is the band that got me into rock and metal glad to see some recognition
@@SuperZiggyCraft Awesome! W.A.S.P. is another band that has a bunch of great songs but gets overlooked because of their earlier image/stage outfits.
It would have been cool if you played You Could Be Mine by GNR at the end,the song form Terminator 2.I know it's in the 90's and it wouldn't fit,but still
Where is motley crüe?.
Only one song?
What brand is the Purple guitar???
