The good news about getting into cars after getting a good job is that I can afford the mid-grade stuff that's not too crazy expensive but definitely good stuff... That being said, the $40 underglow kit I installed for kicks definitely suuuuucks.

Second mod was a muffler delete because I was sick of being told i had a girl's car and I was the quietest car among all my friends..... That lasted less than 3 months and I got sick of it. Third mod which I'm almost done now is a turbo and a full 3 inch exhaust. Not sure if I'll live to regret it 😂

Guilty of octane boosters. I used to use it during road trips (when I'd be...in Mexico...going way over speed limit for long stints) with my N/A Mazda3.
My OCD hates the tinsel hang-job behind you. Either drop the left side or put up the right. I had a bullbar on my Toyota Highlander for awhile...we called it the Alabama slammer cause it was so amazon trashy...but it did save the front from damage in the Costco parking lot a couple times. Got rid of it because it had a couple dents so I guess it did it's job.
So far nothing I regret but I only got the car in August it's my daily for college and internship. Put enkei onx from fitment industries on her with some new pirelli tires, put on a new black grille to eliminate the fact that the only chrome on the car was the front grille, put red badges cause I didnt like the blue and I'll be getting a nameless performance axleback muffler delete soon to make her sound better. So far I love it (2012 all black Subaru Impreza sport hatchback with low miles) Edit: my parents got me head light tint and a new plate holder for Christmas I have that on and have more tint coming for the taillights, looks so much better. Exhaust is still coming soon
I went a little crazy with the plasti dip back in the day. Did my grill, window trim, wheels, looked good and got a lot of compliments but was definetly a bit rice.
Cold Air Intakes work but most persons install them close to the engine instead of somewhere where it can get a fresh source of cold air and not be sucking up hot engine air.
By the way…..a K&N replacement pod filter for a 98 Silverado with the 5.7 Vortec fits into a 98 mustang gt if you remove the filter box of the mustang………
For me in school not gonna lie it was kind of tempting to cheap out but I never did I always buy high-quality named brands no matter the price because At the end of the day I knew it’s gonna be way better quality like it’s just going to do its job better basically

Not performance related i kinda regret a set of heavy 20 inch chrome rims. Never realized they were that heavy and would make that much difference in the drivability or that the chrome was SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS lol it kept corroding at the inside lip causing them to constantly leak and shops never did the super low profile tires so finding a shop to deal with replacing or fixing a slow leak was brutal and ALWAYS expensive
My Mazda 626. I didn't make a bad mod. Just the whole car. Other than that I do my research and make the best price/quality purchase. I don't have a lot of money. But I will buy performance parts if it's proven and makes sense and look at reviews on it.

I recently picked up a 2018 Fiesta ST. The original owner added a cat back, an aftermarket intercooler, slotted front rotors and a little bit bigger wheels and tires. No suspension changes. I love it but I see a lot of owners running tunes (I think mine might have one because it has a Mountune decal under the hood). I daily my car and I really love it the way it is, and don't want to ruin it's reliabilty.
I can truthfully say I haven’t done anything to make the car run worse. Sure my muffler delete isn’t refined, I admit that, but I haven’t done anything to ruin the drive ability and performance with the exception of the all terrains that are heavy. But still better to drive than a crossover haha 😂.

I did two mods that ended up being extremely embarrassing. I was 15, starting out with my base model 07 Subaru Impreza sedan. And I bought two things that were very very bad lol. First was I bought these red stripe stickers that you put around the lip of the wheel to have a nice red ring around the lip. I put them on my stock wheels…. On the topic of stickers which both mods were, I must include the double racing stripes I put on my car, car was blue and I got white stripes that I put on slightly crooked… and the last mod was actually pretty funny. I was 17 just driving around my base model impreza with a fart can and covered in stickers and one of them I put on the rear window. It was a devil and angel like you see on your shoulders but they were strippers…
I think the worst thing I ever did was get a really nice set of wheels and some really nice low pro tires, but was still on factory suspension at that point. The wheel gap was just… I can’t even explain how embarrassing it was to drive for a few months saving up for coil overs. I definitely was not in my prime

Hold up. I create MAF adapters that make your POD filter work like a charm in your car. No engine hiccups. Plug and Play. It doesn't make any more power, but it sounds lovely.

Gained more power in my Tc by chopping the intake to just before the filter and put a performance filter in, than any cold air intake could ever have given me 😂 because it's already a very unrestricted air system
My friend put a pvc pipe tee and a pool pump as a "super charger" I tried to tell him that any "boost" pressure is just leaking out of the pipe tee before the throttle.... Nope. "ram air"
Imo. Reps are good for those that want a certain look for their car without spending a ton of money on a “Real” set of rims. If those want rims to push to the limits, you buy the real set because they’ll have that top quality. Some reps will give you both for a price in the middle of both.
Did a muffler delete on my 07 335 coupe like 4-5 years ago. The drone was unbearable. Just went with downpipe and resonator delete on my s3 and it sounds so much better.
I have an na and a pedal commander and honestly I love it. It's something that I think I'll get on my next few cars as well. It turns a boring car into a slightly less boring car with more fun moments lol looking back, I would rather get an offbrand one instead for $100 instead of the ridiculous price of the pedal commander for $300

That Lucas octain booster has improved my gas mileage per tank. No real HP gain, but I go longer b4 fill ups.

if you can see the filter on a cold air intake in the engine bay then its not a cold air intake.

Always exhaust wont reccomend any that is all your preference but IMO performance stuff over any cosmetic first makes sense
