This information should be taught in regular schools. It can be made grade-level appropriate even for younger children. And gym/health class should be fun. Many people grew up not liking "exercise" because of school gym classes.
Parents of minor children need to be educated. Looking at the cereal aisle in a supermarket is enough to realize the majority of US parents are feeding their children sugary "food" on a daily basis. Parents love their children; if they were educated to know the harm they were doing, many would stop.
Thank you for the information in this and all your videos. Imagine a world in which it was common knowledge and the false info (such as Std American Diet) done away. People would be vibrantly healthy and happy. Hospitals would be mainly for broken bones. High fat low carb foods would be readily available. No more fat removed and replaced with sweeteners in yogart and other foods.
(I believe the Bible book of Revelation, and that someday there will be a Millennium here on Earth -- a 1000 year period of peace and prosperity filled with the knowledge of our Creator's ways. I think people will know and apply the principles of good health then.)

@@drekberg My son, who is skinny as a rail, and can eat anything, asked me why I was watching videos, of yours, explaining "why" and "how" the body works, the way it does. I am just that type of person, I love to learn the "why" and "how." The funny thing is, my son is exactly like that. I have never seen a child ask "why," as much as him. He had to know why everything is the way it is. He challenges me everyday with those "why" questions. My daughter, his twin sister, was just the opposite, she was always overweight. I mean, they induced my labor a month early, because they thought she was 2 pounds heavier than him, she wasn't, she was less than a pound heavier, after birth. However, she was always gaining weight. She was always over the 100th percentile, for her age range, even though they were born a month early. He can eat a pan of brownies, and not gain a pound, she can just look at the brownies and gain weight. It is fascinating seeing this with twins. My oldest brother, also, has twins, and they were the exact same way. One was so skinny, and the other was obese, from the very beginning. Both my daughter and my nephew had issues with their bowels, and were always constipated. They were both on Miralax when they were young. I don't know why it happens, but it is interesting, in twins, to see that. Anyway, when covid hit, my daughter started losing weight and she looks awesome. My son is trying to gain muscle mass, because he is so thin. They have both been on me to get healthy, I had given up. However, now that I have found your videos and I know I can possibly heal myself, I have hope. I had given up thinking it was too late to even try, because the damage was beyond repair. I am only 49, and feeling worthless and hopeless. I took, both nursing and psychology classes, and didn't learn this much in either class. I took psychology classes, and, after a year and a half, I realized I couldn't lie to people, like they do. You know the physicians must hate you, and I am honestly surprised YT hasn't silenced you, yet. Big pharma has the money and power to stop you, and doctors like you.
Also, to anyone reading this, if you have your children on Miralax, stop giving it to them, it is straight poison. Polyethylene glycol, which is basically strands of ethylene glycol, found in antifreeze, and has been used in murder cases, and animal poisoning. I don't need anymore petroleum products in my system. I have tremendous guilt for feeding it to my daughter, when she was a child. All of my children are healthy, and intelligent, but I wish I knew, then, what I know, now, about vaccines and some of the medications I gave my children. At least, they didn't get flouride in their water, which, I believe is just another poison. I can't even epress my gratitude, for you and for your channel. Thank you so much.

I've been in both situations. I lost over 50 pounds in my 20's, and kept it off for over ten years. I did it mostly with exercise and better eating habits. I developed degenerative disc disease, and the inflammation exploded. I gained a lot of weight and lost hope. Fortunately, I lost most of the excess fat with a low-carb healthy-fat diet and fasting. My improved health has me exercising regularly again.

This is a great man right here. I'm completely in his corner. The way he explains things is not telling you what to do, but how what your doing is best served by doing the things he talks about. In this day and age, just hearing english used to its intended benefit is the only entertainment I seek. Sometimes I watch live NBA ball in slow mo or on mute. Actions speak louder that words, however the pen remains mighter than the sword, and the provoke of a good orator can change the course of discourse forever. Amen brother. God bless.

Some exercise experts I really respected in the past haven't kept up with the research, so it's a shame that I no longer follow them. I've followed Clarence Bass on his website since 1999, but he completely missed the carb/insulin connection. (In fact, some of his joint issues might be related to his whole grain diet.) Dr. Doug McGuff was the first person I knew who introduced the concept of insulin sensitivity in his 2009 book "Body By Science", but even today he doesn't draw the distinction that diet determines insulin sensitivity, not exercise.

This makes so much sense! It's something I've been neglecting myself. Bought a fitness watch, so I'm gonna make sure I get 10000 steps everyday no matter what. Anything else is in addition.

Hey Dr. Ekberg. A couple of video suggestions: How to prevent getting headaches on keto. Or a video about spinach/oxolates. Hating on spinach seems to be trendy now in the keto community. Should we not be eating spinach ?

There are already tons of videos on how to avoid headaches on keto. Make sure you're getting enough electrolytes and minerals.

Thank you De None. I would probably suggest limiting it and cooking it for the most part. People have different ability to process and tolerate oxalates. Variety is key. I've talked about in a number of videos regarding keto side effects that I think it is better to change gradually to allow the body to adapt. virtually all keto "flu" symptoms is because people change too fast. Also adding some extra salt/electrolytes, but again if you change slowly that is less of an issue.😄

I started eating Keto seriously in 2016. Have been out of Ketosis several times. Never experienced Keto “flu”. I use a lot of sea salt (Herbamare) on eggs, meats and cooked veggies. I surmise that there’s a correlation there.

I thoroughly enjoyed this session Dr. Ekberg.
You are a very good teaching coach. You have helped me on the road of recovery. In 3 1/2 months I have gone from 238lbs and stubborn belly fat to 207lbs and lots of belly fat loss without any strenuous belly exercises.
Now that I am down to a comfortable level of stress on my joints, I am able to focus on a exercise routine.
Thanks again for clarifying all of this conflicting information derived health consciousness.
