    I've figured out the difference. POD Go Wireless has a cable emulation setting on the transmitter. When turned off, the tone has full fidelity, with the top end being extra prominent. I can get the tone 99.99% close to the HX Stomp by turning on the cable emulation to 10' (3m), which I much prefer. Mystery solved!

    Good stuff brother! Thank you for the videos! I started playing acoustic guitar in church last January and two months ago my worship leader talked me into trying an electric guitar. I decided to give a PODGo a try. Thank you for all that you put out on CZcams to help us.

      Hi Bobby, thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad my content is helping you! Welcome to the wonderful world of electric guitar!

    The HX series and Helix now have the oversampling update, which the POD GO can never have. It did make a nice difference in cleaning up the sound quality on those devices.

      I hadn’t realised the oversampling will improve the sound quality, I should do an A/B test!

    I’d echo your comments on the tones. Outstanding demo of both units. Thank you so much.

    Great video brother! I have been using Pod Go in my church since it came out and have no regrets.

      Thank you for the kind words, Eddie! I suspect I will be using the POD Go much more often.

    Confirms what I've been hearing from my stomp!

      It was mighty nice of Line 6 to have the same tonal quality from their flagship processor in their beginner device! I'd still gig with the Stomp because of the flexibility though, haha.

    HI Justin, great video. I did hear a slight difference too and also thought the POD GO stood out more in the mix. I bought a POD GO about 4 months ago strictly for using at church. I think my sound has improved since I bought and haven't regretted it at all. What is the strat you were playing in the video? I know I've seen it on the channel before but that was awesome!

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you for the kind words! Great to hear your tone journey! It’s an MJT VTS custom built with Andy Timmons specs, including DiMarzio Cruiser bridge pickups for the middle/neck and an AT-1 in the bridge. Very hot, very dynamic, but still gets that strat quack.

    My biggest obstacle to getting that Helix sound is the price barrier. For the money, how would you say the pOD stacks up overall and is it a close comparison notwithstanding the processing power which obviously makes that difference in tone or presence.

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Před rokem

      Helix vs POD Go is a world of difference when it comes to input/output/routing flexibility, but tone-wise it's the same since they have the same processor at the core. I would say that unless you need the additional routing (like me, I use the XLR input for an MD microphone, I route my tracks through the Helix to the front-of-house, and click/cues to the IEM system), and can live without dual amps and stacking effects, go with the POD Go. It's much smaller with the same tones and snapshot functionality as the Helix. Also, 90% of the people in the audience or congregation won't be able to tell it's a POD Go.

    Not ready to dish out $1800 for a Helix and already have a POD Go, but need more effects.....so.... I am thinking of putting an HX in the POD Go's effects loop. Am I crazy?

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Před rokem

      How many more effects do you need? I have a jailbreak patch that frees up to 7 blocks.
      czcams.com/video/SSn--_SiJYo/video.html
      But as to your plan, that’s a decent one, nothing is too crazy haha. HX Effects or the HX Stomp? Take note you will need special TRS-dual TS breakout cables if you want to preserve stereo ins and outs of the POD Go FX loop.

    I'm not sure why but I can't get the PodGo to sound anywhere as good as this. no idea what I'm doing wrong.

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Před rokem

      Take heart! Tweaking is tough, and I’m only reaching this state after spending years (and a ton of money) on analog gear. Feel free to send me the patch you’re working on to see what’s up, if you’re comfortable?

  • @unhookedunhooked3219

    Theres a problem with the input on the pod go. Please research it before you buy it. I have one and its great for live work but I have just got an HX stomp XL and I can notice a difference to the sound. I think its better and smoother. Downside is I don't have a wah pedal anymore. Its something to do with the impedance on the pod go not being 1 meg. Go and look it up before you buy.

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Před 2 lety

      Indeed, there seems to be a lower input impedance on the POD Go which is fixed on the wireless version because it has an active input buffer. I will test if there is a difference between going wired vs the wireless. There will be a perceivable loss in top end but for some (including me), the difference is not large enough to be a major problem.

    Both tones sound really good... Am debating on which one I want!

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Před 2 lety

      It comes down to your end-user needs! If the expression pedal is an integral part of your playing, POD Go. If flexibility is your thing (dual amp signal chains, multiple delay/reverbs), HX Stomp is the way to go! I'm personally still on Team HX Stomp because I need the flexibility in the studio.
