Line 6 sent me the new Pod Go, despite the baity title, I actually really like it and I think the price point is wonderful. For the price of 2 boutique pedals, 4 regular pedals and a dozen cheap mini pedals you can have all the sounds found in helix products and some pretty intuitive built in control.

Finally a different take on what can be done with the line 6 stuff, very cool! I have to experiment more, thanks for inspiring me.
GREAT VIDEO!! You have a great knack for explaining product for us newbies. It really makes me think more thoughtfully about purchase decisions. Just want you to know ne you are my favorite channel I follow. Justin Johnson's guitar channel came in 2nd and Dillion Talks Tone 3rd. Please keep doing what you do. I was so bummed no live podcast last night.
I just bought a Pod Go myself, and I freaking love it!!! Especially 16C :)
Two radically different products - NOT an either / or choice. You said it yourself - the HX Stomp is the "core" of your travel rig. The new Line 6 Pod Go is intended to be your WHOLE rig. I like to think of one as being as you say, the experimental platform and the other being the no-nonesense, bread and butter perfromance tool. :)
I enjoyed it brother and I think both are nice. Yes you can dive into it all day like you said. I like the things you’ve came up with. Kind of makes me want to try one again! I had an old multi effects processor years ago. Kind of thinking about diving into it again when I’ve got the extra.
Great demo of what’s possible outside the box!
👍🏼👍🏼 Using the expression pedal for multiple parameters .
Thanks so much for the "no cookie cutter" demo. Loved it! Thanks a bunch!!
I'm watching this while I wait for my Pod Go to arrive. Hopefully tomorrow.
I didn’t know this was a thing so I bought a boss me 80 and I wish I would of gotten this one
Great stuff, Ryan! Thanks!
Hey Ryan, thanks for the information on the unit.
Helpful. Glad to hear how it gets freaky. Appreciated.
Awesome video! So helpful! Thanks!
Now I know what to do next with my Pod Go. get Weird! Love it. Thx!!!
Could finally play Are You Experienced with this unit. Cool review!
Owned the HX Stomp for 5 months and just sold it and upgraded to the PodGo. For my purposes, which is just trying to find an all in one pedal to gig with, the PodGo is superior and cheaper. Yes, you miss out on some DSP and can overload your modules/pedals with processing and have to limit your choices, but really, it's unbelievable tone and it includes a wah pedal. No brainer for me.
Shoegaze dream. Programmable fx pre sets are so much easier for live gigs, pedals for recording, especially for delays and trems.
Thank you . A good demonstration of how many hours I would waste if I bought this unit .
Thanks! I'm searching for tools that allow expression of multiple pedals and parameters...things I can't do with my physical pedal board. If the HX Stomp can integrate pedals/effects like what I saw the POD GO do in this video, into one composit pedal/effect, then I can easily insert it in my pedal board set up.
LOVE the PodGo! Just don't say it sounds just like a Helix (which it does) but had a subscriber tear me 7 new asses for saying it does sound as good (and again, it does)
It really does unless u are extremely nitpicky
All I can think about is "91X Big Sonic Chill" when you get a bit ambient lol. It's a really interesting unit.
lol, I had a friend that was trying to date the original DJ for big sonic chill
Very entertaining demo. Nice to see that the Pod Go is shoegaze friendly :')
great review
I would have loved to see some impulse response. I am still trying to find the Gallien Krueger 250 sound, I really wonder how it sound on these units. Thanks again for the video.
I feel like I’m getting amazing guitar chops from Ryan Fitzpatrick. This is heaven
This has to be the best comment ever on this channel
Fitzmagic!
I couldn’t decide which small differences I needed! So why not just own both, I have a helix too, and a Kemper and a neural dip so just keep adding to your collection! It’s what I do!!!! Lol
Each piece of gear is a tool, and each tool has a specific purpose, so learn what you need!
The Stomp is the way to go if you are in a country where the price is comparable between Stomp and PodGo. It gives you more sonic options and logistically provides a better pedalboard option for integrating with other pedals. The Go is a less practical option on a board and I guess it is for those seeking an all in one option or with a couple of extra pedals. I have a bunch of decent delay and reverb pedals I needed to integrate with the Stomp rather than make them obsolete. The Stomp is a neat solution in that regard although I did think hard about the PodGo before making my decision. The parallel paths on the Stomp ultimately made my mind up.
That intro spaghetti western Jam 👍🏾
Hi Ryan, did you try to add a second expression pedal to see if you can change for example the depth and speed of a tremolo while moving them both at the same time with both your feet?
I had the Stomp and MorningStar but I love the Pod Go! I need that first patch. Can I get surfy with the Pod go?
That green pickguard is really growing on me. I like it.
I was gonna say the same thing!
@@mindfall82 I didnt like it at first, but now i cant imagine it without it.
Hi. A 3 cell LiPo wired to the correct plug fires the Pod Go up no problem. I use a 3s 4000mA.
Man I don't think I have the attention span to tweek that much! I wouldn't get much playing done lol Great demo!
Hey, Ryan. I've got Hx stomp, empress germ drive overdrive (35mah) and tc spark booster (40 mah). And I've got powerbank 20000mah. How can I power it? I've heard about Ripcord 9v converter from myvolts, have you tested it?
Enjoyed the replay
you just sold me this pedal based on the weird section, I'm IN!
I watch a lot of guitar channels on CZcams. So much so that I'm starting to get idea's for their video's.
Like I want Ryan to do a video in which he tunes all his guitars. Without using time lapse. Live, so we can all tune along at the same time.
I want JHS to dedicate a full episode on all their pedal boxes. No...lets change that in a series, they have enough for 3 seasons on Netflix and I'll enjoy every minute of that.
I would like Trogly to make a video in which he puts guitars back into the boxes.
I would like Leland Sklar do a video about a songwriter he worked for that really sucked. I like to hear some stories about untalented nitwits from the '70s as well.
A Rick Beato video in which he reads out all the discount codes of the last 5 years.
A 5 Watt World short history about a brand new guitar. Or any other short history that would actually be short.
A Marty Schwartz tutorial that wouldn't require wearing a hat.
A Sophie Loyd video that would require wearing a hat. Or any other clothes. So I don't feel like the dirty old man I have become when I watch her play.
A Henning video that is shot in Steve's house with Steve's lighting and Steve's single pixel camera. His face of dispair not being able to use his 1000-camera-studio would be very entertaining. (Isn't there a way to get Marty to send his hat to Henning who obviously needs it a lot more?)
A Paul Davids video with a top 5 of things you shouldn't make a top 5 video of.
A Know Your Gear episode that only features gear Phil has never even heard of.
A Stew Mac video in which Dan Earlewine assembles an Ikea closet. (And takes 2 weeks to do it, just like the rest of us)
A Darrel Braun video that is in English.
A Brad Angrove video that is in English. (One that includes the tip that Marty needs better protective gear than just a hat.)
A Gibson TV/ 5 Watt World collab;
'A short history of all the people we sued.' That would have to result in a daily soap if we want the complete list.
A Phil O sophical video of Phil X asking himself 'Phil Y?'
That Pedal Show video with Mick talking only about modern guitars and MIDI, and Dan trying to remember Marshall Amps names
Friday Fretworks with Chris Buck playing an every-note-pick-attack solo
Agufish speaking english without using rethorical questions intonation
Pete Thorn sounding bad.
Rabea Massaad playing jazz standards
Ola Englund video with no chugs
That was a lot of work for 4 likes and one reply, so here's one more.
Andy from PGS playing only with a pick.
What the fuck? Go play the guitar. Your fingers are wasting your time on the keyboard.
Haha
Thanks a lot!!!!
I fixed your likes, sitting at 199. You're welcome. Have a great time Ryan. Pick and grin! No, I'm not jealous, I just simply wish I had someone in my life when I was young who tried to help me play anything. I can beat a stranger into my house with one of them and there are many, but I can't make them create music, yet. I will not give up! You keep killing it and I'll keep trying, deal?
I recently acquired one and it's FANTASTIC...but it has ONLY 4 customizable blocks. what a bummer
My mooer ge150 just blowed up real good. Maybe i need one.
Is that a new harmony in that champagne color to your top left? I wanted to get one of those so bad because a harmony was my starter guitar and when I saw they were coming back I wanted one. Then I realized I was priced out of that boutique experience lol
That Jazzmaster sounds great. What model is that?
Pod go ftw amazing unit
it really does seem like a good value for the money. I would probably not like the limiting nature of the pod, but it looks great for entry level guitar players. Nice review!
Right, a $450 multi effects pedal for beginners.
Seriously, Rock you like a Hurricane was the best
Pod Go IS a great piece of Kit. But, I ultimately went with the Stomp for my small rig (Big rig is an Axe FX II Mk2, Matrix amp, rack mixer, Xitone 2x12) because of the greater versatility and It is an actual Helix product. We KNOW Line 6 keeps upgrading all the Helix family, including the Stomp. The Pod Go? Yet to be seen. That was my fear on it.
Just ordered a pod Go thanks to your demo. How are you assigning the treadle to the different effects? From all the other demos it seemed like they were saying it had to be wah or volume.
so when you look at the parameters for each knob under the screen, hold down the knob and it will go into a control options window for that parameter. You can literally control anything with the exp pedal. You can even set it to scroll through cab sims, lol. The trick is that exp1 will always be locked to the wah as well, so you have to turn the mix all the way down on the wah if you dont want wah. I I figure if you are doing wacky exp stuff you probably are fine without wah on that patch, or a blend of wah anyways.
@@60CycleHumcast that's great!
Please upload these crazy presets so we can download them!!
Hey Ryan, I was just curious how good the headphone out sounds? I've got another baby on the way and am going to be looking for a way to play through headphones without it sounding like total garbage. Thanks in advance !
Hey Kyle, I used the headphone out with my ATH M50xs and it sounds great. Created a few patches in my apartment this way after work. I bartend and get done late at night. This is perfect for being quiet.
It sounds great, pretty much exactly like the video
line 6 pod go seems like it would be easier for a novice like me. New to multi-fx pedals and doesn't have a unlimited budget to buy as many pedals as needed. line 6 pod go is probably going to be my next pedal purchase.
That into was very pulp fiction
Depends on what you're doing. Playing live, the Pod Go. No decision to make.
I sold my HX stomp. Bought a headrush and the pod go. Can't beat for live . Versatile gear.
I have the POD HD Pro. I think it's awesome. You have to really learn how to dial in sounds though or it can sound absolutely terrible.
Just sold my Helix floor. It was too much gobbly gook for my needs. The Pod Go is arriving tomorrow and am ready to dig in to a more simplified user interface that sounds the same.
Howzabout posting some of those crazy presets on the Customtone site for us mortals?
What company is the blue mosrite style guitar with the 2 white humbuckers and golden pick guard.
Pure Salem
I'd love to get one just to use as a amp modeller in conjunction with pedals.
That’s what the HX Stomp is best for
@@themodernpedalplayer6622 true! But depends..If you dont need ampmoddeling and DO need a switcher for your pedalboard with multieffects..the Boss MS3 is great as well.
Great fun.
Just bought the wireless version and tried the jailbreak thing👍
So it’s now totally gigable as my front of amp multi effects unit.
Can you switch between two presets instantly using the foot-switches instead of the knobs?
Yes in preset mode.
Can i record directly to q PC ? I'm super noob so I'm lost I don't know if I should skip this and get the helix lt, or I can save more than half the price and still get a decent and flexible product. I have never and probably never will be gigging or playing seriously its just my personal free time hobby
What are the shortcomings for a novice player that just wants to plug it in, and play, and maybe record. Compared to a Helix Lt? I think I will never gonna need dual or stereo set ups, I just want it to work and record. What I am missing with this?
I think if i get one will be line 6 pod go i'm old school basic plug n play,i don't want to spend all day diggin in a sofware seting's and wear stuff.i better spend time playing.cheers
Reading Rainbow vibe at about 19:00
TO......MUCH.......FUN!!
I wonder how much a POD Go sized/function device would cost if it had the openness of the Stomp.
Take a look at the HX Stomp XL
18,03 reminds me rush tone type(xanadu)
Somehow this appears the same day I began to consider modelers. Suspicious.
turns out I'm a hologram generate by the algorithm. OBEY. CONSUME. REPRODUCE.
@@60CycleHumcast AND TUNE
Except for a few features the HX is virtually same including the soundbut it cost significantly more ???
you can get more creative with the signal path of the stomp and its obviously pedalboard friendly. The pod go is meant to be my entry level friendly and give people the core elements of what they need for live performance
Hey if you want to improve the look of that guitar you should rub the body down with some steel wool
Dont forget to polish the hardware with 80 grit sandpaper ☺
I just put together an unboxing video with the POD GO! check it out right here: czcams.com/video/eOprT0RDIyk/video.html
I want a "POD Stomp"
Regarding the battery you use to power the HX Stomp: what are the specs of the battery and how long will it power the HX Stomp?
The power jack on the HX Stomp says "9VDC 3A", which would be 27 watts. That's a lot. I wouldn't think the battery would last very long.
I use the stomp to film all my namm videos. It takes about 20 minutes to film a video and on average I was filming 15 a day. So thats 5 hours of play time a day? the battery wouldn't be completely drained by the end of the day, probably about 2/3rds. So I'm sure i could get 6-7 hours of play time off the battery. This is the battery I use. amzn.to/3gaZ8nx
@@60CycleHumcast Thank you. That's interesting. The battery says it's max output is 5VDC 2.4A = 12 watts. I'm surprised it works--5 volts when the HX Stomp wants 9 volts. The HX Stomp is adapting to that somehow.
Have you noticed any reduction in functionality in the HX Stomp? Fewer effects allowed, for example?
Gregory Holmberg Gregory Holmberg the adaptor I use converts 5v to 9v and provides 1000 Ma. Some people have measured and found that the stomp only needs around 850 Ma to operate. I haven’t seen any loss of functionality .
It's weird, almost every comparison video is the pod go vs the hx stomp. Where as I'm more interested in hx effects vs pod go. That's what I'm trying to decide between.
if i had an hx effects that what i would compare. but i dont. I had an M5 years back and hated it just because it was way too big for what it offered.
@@60CycleHumcast it's fine. I was just making an observation because if you search "pod go vs hx effects" 4 of the the 5 top videos are pod go vs hx stop, the only outlier being Henning comparing it to the full helix. It was almost line 6 sent a memo to creaters saying we want y'all to compare these two.
@@60CycleHumcast I had an M5 as well and had to sell it because the user presets would sporadically change or delete themselves. HX series changed my opinion on Line6.
Steven, basically the HX FX is only for effects. Obviously. It doesn't contain amp models or cabinets, so you can focus all of the DSP of the unit into effects boxes. As far as I know, the effects units offered in the PodGo are the same? (don't quote me on that) But at least for the ones offered in PodGo, the sound is the same for the units that are parallelled between both units. What you run into on the podGo is DSP issues. So if you're only going for top notch modelled effects, you're going to run out of DSP with the podgo. But for lighter usage effects, like the built in line 6 effects (from their DDx lines), then you'll be fine.
I would think twice about going for the Go if you're not looking for amp or cab emulation. I feel like that's a huge reason to get the Go. If you already have an amp you love and want the most DSP for an AIO fx box, then maybe check the HX FX.
Why not use both at the same time.
John Carpenter sound at 26 min mark.
I’ve just bought this pedal but after watching this, it’s made me concerned that it might just be a gimmick pedal with ridiculous tones which are hardly ever useful... worried now it won’t complement my amp and will be a pain to get the tones I want.
Those sounds were sounding so digital it was painful. I have a Marshall JVM Combo and wanted this to complement, might have made a mistake.
You did not make a mistake. They made the POD Go for a reason. Its an all in one device meant to do 99% of what musicians do on a daily basis. If you want to spend an additional $200 bucks for 1% of something you may never use then go ahead. But really if you want to go up from the POD Go then you should be thinking about the Helix LT. They come up with some good buys used on reverb.com
No buy the pod go
The Line 6 Pod is for beginners that is who this is for
I know what you mean. I have a line6 amp.
According to your analogy then tube amps would also be.
Please understand "IT IS NOT GEAR, BUT YOUR SKILLS, WHAT MATTERS.
How many idiots buy a Kemper or an Ax FX lll and don't even know how to tune the guitar, but they believe that without these products they will never be able to sound professional.
