There's teams with much smaller budgets that reach quarters etc of champions league and people get all pessimistic about winning a few games. It's a hard competition for anyone but real madrid to win, so you should be there to try your luck every chance possible. Dortmund are 5th in the german league this year and we were absolutely turgid in the season we made the final. Then you need to win one game and you've made history.
It will only hurt if we don’t make the next Champions League. The whole point of settling for Europa League is to build onto something.
Top 4 will be City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, with Villa 5th. Spuds won’t be in CL for a while now. Their own fault

Clubs not ready for Champions League, certainly dont have the squad depth for it, think we way better of this season in Europa and some of our bench players and under 21 will get a chance and we get to see if some of them are good enough for premier league
alot of the future will depend on this transfer window and the next couple of windows as well

Spurs snubbing the chance to earn a spot for the UCL is going to to haunt them till they qualify for it again providing a plenty of ammunition to rivals and all to banter them like never before. I cant see them in the UCL for a long time to come given the level of competition for it from next season.

By Sim’s estimations it’s not the end of the world because we should still sign good players as they want a pay day. This means we will end up with players with ability but lesser ambition, ie., Tanguy Ndombele. Access to the Champions League would given us better chances of signing players with both ability AND ambition to make a name on the biggest stage.
Levy's consistent goal for the last 12 years has been "getting top 4" to get a CL spot for the 50 mil plus revenue. never to win it, but to have the CL money fund transfers for the league season. It's not ADDITIONAL money, it reduces the money taken from PL revenue. we have NEVER been competitive in the CL (2019 we barely got out the group and fluked our way to the final), 2023 we barely got out of the weakest group and then got eliminated by a mediocre AC Milan squad. Name one player that has come to us to play CL. we can't compete at CL level and i would say Europa league will be a significant challenge as well. we couldn't even go far in the Conference League.

Sim your not wrong but when has levy ever pushed the boat out for any player. I get your point and villa will benefit from being in it for that reason but gor us it would have changed little.
Dont think we are good enough for cl yet. Give europa league a real go. Bring in quality players during the summer,back ange and build a team capable of competing for trophies. We didnt deserve cl football this year due to our inconsistency and lack of squad depth.

Ardent followers of epl teams, that aren't necessarily keen on following the fortunes of teams from other leagues, continue having a lack of appreciation for how decent to really challenging the ability and quality of teams in other leagues is. Perhaps it has to do with the enormous marketing hype generated for the epl (best league in the world etc). Aston villa was pummeled by olympiakos of the Greek league, Liverpool were embarrassed by atalanta serie a/Italy, Alonso's leverkusen has stormed through the Europa as likely the team of the season in Europe. There's football, and plenty of it, outside the epl, many times much more interesting and enjoyable actual football outside of the epl. So epl centred fans find themselves surprised when seeing epl teams not winning these European titles and really believe they should walk them, purely based off of biases fomented by marketing hype about the calibre of any and every team of the epl (well, at least the top 8 or 9 teams of the epl)
Never take for granted that just because spurs has some good players and are an epl top 7 team, that they'll walk the europa or even the conference league. Football doesn't work that way, there's no "on paper" nonsense. There's quality coaching and playing beyond the epl that puts alot of the epl mythos to shame.
Spurs fans should really be focused on supporting the development of quality football out of the team more than anything. That'll eventually be the key to honours. Just focus on supporting high quality football, as long as it may take... Then and only then, the world will eventually honour spurs.
Here are a couple of people(not all) who wanted to lose to City then asking whether missing out Champ League will "hurt" the club... Sorry Really, to me, what a joke to make this video!! Join the champions league only when u finish building the team only? Then why aim for the cups when u know City, Arsenal and Liverpool are ahead of you? Why play in the league as well when the same teams are ahead of you? The team should go and join the best competition and try their best in everything.
