price and affordability over the 24-70 GM ii especially when paired with the A7C bodies. It's a great combo, can shoot in APSC mode for the longer focal length.
I think what some people are missing is that this is the perfect lens for documentary, reportage, conflict zone, protest, street photography.
At 24 you are plenty wide for basically any circumstance. At 28 to 40 you will do the bulk of your work. At 50 you have a bit of added reach and a decent portrait where required. Paired with an A7C ii or A7C R you have basically the most compact 2.8 FF zoom setup that money can buy. And if you really need the extra reach you can punch into APSC mode to get out to 75.
You couldn't have put it in better words and I couldn't agree more! 👏
On point!
Agree completely with you points. This lens cover 3 of my 4 favorite focal lengths, the fourth being 85mm. So this lens with a 85mm f1.8, I'm good. Also will mention, that I had a 24-70 f2.8 and sold as it was just too big and heavy for casual carry. Do wish it just a bit wider at 20-50 f2.8.
The engine room inwayfarers is where we are going to be based from next week or week after
Brilliant video well put together . I'm still undecided !! but think i'm leaning towards this lense even though i have the fab travel 24-105mm . PS nice to see you out and about in Southport. Sorry I missed you ! Addendum, I've bought one for A7c (wifey uses) took it out to try (the lense and the camera haha) very pleased with the results , think it's going to be bolted on the A7c now.
Thankyou! Head into your local Wilkinson Cameras store if you're still undecided, one of our members of staff can help you out 😊
I'll be glad to buy one if it's ever in stock in the US.
Not to worry, just head over to the UK and buy it from us 😉
@@WilkinsonCameras Available now in the US. I bought the 16-25 G and 24-50 G to use as a travel combo.😀
@@PhotoTrekr Ooo that's a good choice! Well enjoy your new purchases 😁
So the video do talking head was zve1? Looked crisp. Better for video than a7c2?
Yes, we shoot most of our videos on the Sony ZV-E1 as our primary camera, and then any sample imagery or video will be taken on the product we're reviewing.
The A7CII has 33 megapixels, whereas the ZV-E1 has 12 megapixels, so technically, the A7CII should be sharper. However, the ZV-E1 will handle low-light scenarios a lot better. Personally, from using both, I would choose the ZV-E1 for video only, but if you want something more hybrid, then definitely the A7CII. It has a viewfinder (ZV-E1 doesn't), and it has more pixels for better image quality.
As primary cam why not FX3 ?
From your sample photos, it appears that the 24-70 G Master has slightly greater colour saturation. Is this accurate, from your analysis? Thank you./Warren
Hi nice lens review, I have a7Cll with 2470gmll , do I need zve1 or fx3 for much better video content ? Or my current setup is more than enough?
Dammm I just found your review, very enjoyed it, subscribed
Thanks for subbing 😁
This lens is going to compete with Tamron 20-40/2.8, and that's a tough competition to win.
We wudda come and said halloooooo if we knew you were here 😋😋😋
❤
I hate to be a kill joy , but I find Sony glass over priced even this ... samyang , viltrox & sigma glass has so much more character to there lenses & at a decent price too
I must admit, it's not to everyone's taste, but Sony's glass is very, very good, and the quality is just incredible. That's not to say the other brands aren't; they are also excellent and less expensive like you say, but it's down to what suits you best. Image quality, price, and build quality are all things to consider when purchasing a lens.
@@WilkinsonCameras I know its not all about Money but just feel Sony pricing is way off the mark & the sales would increase if they got real
Sony lens have muc better active and dynamic actice IS at this is worth to price.
@@markkuautio7831 Bingo! I've sold almost all of my Sigma/Tamron lenses. If you shoot video, you almost have to buy native Sony lenses at this point because of it.
