The Iberia GKs are guitars to fall in love with, sound, easy to play, price. If you play flamenco on them you will sound like a king when compared to other guitars. And you don't need built in preamp for them to sound good, their natural sound is lovely.
Nice job describing and playing the guitar. Your message and music is natural and a pleasure to hear.
I'm using a Cordoba GK Studios.
Visit
finoshian.com
and you will see my live/ studio works and documentary using this guitar. Documentary shows me playing the guitar outdoors in the middle of a Japanese village without mic. Just onboard mic on the camera.
So...that in itself is says it all bout the guitar in different environments.
Great review mate
Sounds beautiful Jarvis! Wow...a video from 11 years ago that I missed....
Sometimes I love to just hear the sound of a classical guitar for a change.
That's GREAT!!! I just started saving my money for a Cordoba GK Studio.
Good job Jarvis, You are a very cool and humble guy and I appreciate your nice reviews. Keep smiling and enjoying your music. Peace and Love my brother.
G'day mate, nice playing, thanks for posting this video. Guitar sounds nice and your playing is excellent!
some guitares make me smile !!!!
I just bought one of these and the tone is so good it is kickin my but all over the studio..it is simply stunning... he's right.. the build quality is stunning...
Por este vídeo me compré está guitarra, es increíble lo cómoda que es para tocar y el sonido uffff... Calidad
Cuanto costo?
I was looking at this guitar its light and sweet thanks for the Video Jimmy
Good review; Knows his "stuff',casual, relaxed. Just the way I like presentations.
super. I just bought this guitar. I wanted it, but the review convinced me I was right to purchase it. I got it on sale, new, for $580
I have one of this and other 3 cordobas , all of then are excellent guitars, espeially gk studio and c12 cd.
Great review! I am a jazz player (my primary ax is a D'Angelico New Yorker) but had bought the Cordoba C10 classical and fell in love with it! Now I'm considering purchasing this guitar for gigging, to do Jobim and other Latin stuff and for its cut-away. . This was very helpful.
Did you buy it?
In Malaysia the price is about RM1,900. You're right, it's a great nylon string guitar with a narrower nut width which is good for those who play steel string guitar instead of the traditional classical guitar nut width of 52mm.
Thanks for posting this! I'm very interested in this guitar. Besides that, you use some choice voicings that I'm familiar with, so it really gives me the best sense of what it will be like. Great playing!
seriously thinking about getting this.. I have a Honer and it is a great little thin body nylon for only $225 but the pickup sounds like the strings are made of tin foil....this has some blending features that sound great and I miss my Cordoba I used to have. Thanks for the review!!
!excelente guitarra y excelente ejecución!
@joelg125 Flamenco guitars... Flamenco music does allow string buzz to give stronger players an aggressive sound at some times. Unless it really buzzes like.. Allot, then ye it may need a set up. But for flamenco, a little string buzz is absolutely permitted.
@spacinjangler I'm glad this video helped
I have held the Cordoba GK studio negra in my hands. The neck does not feel like it is 50mm wide and deep at all. I have also tried my step sister s Yamaha C40, and this neck is too wide and deep for me, I wonder how she at just 10 years old can handle it.
i have this guitar. it has an amazing rich sound if you get the right strings. though in all honesty the stock strings are pretty nice.
Dominic , what strings do you have?
@@kablej2062 I use Daddario. Typical I go for strings with a warmer sound.
What tension? I'm of the medium tension camp and really like the feel
Very nice playing!
Very interesting guitar Jarvis, thanks for posting.
By the way...you play wonderfully man! - love it - best wishes.....
Beware of Cordoba mid-low end guitars. Bought a Fusion 14 that had frets not seated, sharp fret edges, pitted finish, electronics mounting hole too big. American Musical Supply deleted my negative review from their website the same day it posted.
Brother you must take any good guitar to get a set up and fret job live with it it's a one time expense but your right the don't pay station to the rounding of the fret edge and your not the first one to tell them that
Hey Jarvis,, how r u mate.. fancy seeing on youtube.. I bought your b-band 2.2 last yr... cheers mate!
It is focus round sound quite sweet n well balanced tonal over the key board...A very good guitar of it's value priced. Is it dove tail inserted guitar with radiused finger board of 1/15"?
Nice review...very helpful thanks all the best
U are nice and humble dude.. Keep up ur good review
@kubustrings Great .super...these guitars are good and really cheap ..value for money
just bought one today.ITS AWESOME!
Me 2
it comes with savarez 500aj high tension nylon strings but i prefer savarez tomatito high tension, it really really blasts the sound!!
Comes with normal tention strings this top is thinner than average don't put high tention strings it might pull the belly slightly after time and use a sound hole humidifier I also want to say there is a bg difeance between the GK studio and the all solid Gk negra its with the extra thousand dollars over a life time you won't regret it
Awesome review. I love that guitar.
Hi, nice review. Can you tell me the name of the songs that you played please? beautiful chords!
Thanks,
Kayvan
Hello from Paris
Hi
DO see you see Cordoba 55FCE ?
i own a 55FCE love it
Very nice review, I'm going after the Solista though
Beautiful..Would love to have it but I am just a poor boy and my story's seldom told...Maybe someday..
Don Brown well don I was also once poor and over time set goals to move up plus savings. So focus on moving up and in no time money flows in and your freedom rolls out
Sounds great.Antonio Rey’s couldset it on fire.Check him out..You also play beautifully.
I always enjoy your videos, quick question, will this have solid, back and side or laminated?
It's made with top solid spruce and laminated back and side rosewood.
I am surprised of tonal quality of GK studio. I have two of them and they sound different .The reason I have two is the string height on the bridge that is different per my adjustment. On one I could have setting 5mm from the top at bridge but the other one I only can get about 9mm on bridge and 2.7mm at 12 free but guitar sounds loud and it is comfortable to play classic flamenco pieces but not so for fast picado. I am thinking to adjust the angle of fingerboard to reduce the bridge string height but again, the volume will be totally lost due to extra mass from electronics , thick finish etc. The fingerboard is rosewood and that is totally wrong but hey, what we could expect for that price. The nut is narrow and need to have more spacing on string to get fullness of chord punch. The Cordoba is one of the best mass production amplified model and with some careful adjustment it could be excellent guitar for all kind flamenco playing techniques expressions.
The sound is kind swelling but amplified there are lot of options . I am trying to find best string options to bring more focused and brisk ton. I own Conde AF25 and have more fun on playing Cordoba amplified;)
Nice review. Thank You-
wawww... what´s the name of the first song?
Buyer beware of some of the GK Studios.A lot of them are bad, warped twisted necks with humps at 12th fret, bulging tops behind bridge, miss mounted electronics where screws miss the wood causing pick up control box to come loose, binding tuners, frets uneven, neck shrinkage, top crack behind bridge due to high tension strings on this guitar that has very thin top with very light bracing and no bridge plate beneath the top. These problems develop over a short period of time.
all the GKs are china made ??
I want to buy that kind of guitar please how to get it
@holyevil i remember you
What strings come on the guitar? I know its nylon but I mean what brand and gauge?
Saverz crustal corum 13.95 at strings by mail normal tention don't use cheap strings life is too short not to enjoy you deserve it
@AnnKrauser Hi Ann you can buy it from Guitar Gallery in Singapore..the shop number is 6338 7768 or his personal mobile number is 96268671..do call them for the pricing..as I'm not associated with them in any way.
Every one of these guitars that I have played at various Guitar Centers buzzes big time. I love the guitar but cannot buy it. I wish I could find a good one.
Flamenco guitars have lower action and therefore buzz which is actually a desired feature for flamenco music as it adds aggressive overtones that is ideal for that kind of music. It shouldn't buzz like crazy. But some buzzing is good
What piece was being played after 8:26?
