Yes, Tom is hanging onto the plane for real. Yes, he is strapped to it and wearing special contacts to keep his eyes from drying out. Tom did this stunt like 7-8 times to make sure "they did it right" aka "it was so fun, I had to do it again".
Tom trained for the underwater scene and learned to hold his breath for 6 minutes, which was done in one take.
The scene where Ethan and Ilsa escape the theater was Rebecca Ferguson's first scene filmed for Rogue Nation. While Tom slid down the rope while holding her, she apparently swore constantly at the top of her lungs all the way down. When they touched down, Tom smiled to her and said, "Welcome to Mission Impossible".
This was the film that launched Ferguson's movie career. She'd done mostly TV work before this. She was so good in this she started getting any role she wanted.
Rebecca Ferguson’s entrance into the opera house is still one of the great cinematic “DAAAAAAAAAMN!” moments.
Rebecca Ferguson is a nice welcomed addition to the series
Yes, she's an amazing actress and she's amazing in this series!
My favorite character of hers is Rose the Hat from Dr. Sleep
She's a welcome addition to anything. Such a babe
Yeah, she's been on an amazing steak of being great in everything. Even if the movies or shows aren't that good (looking at you, "Silo") she's always great.
Oh yeah. I'd say Ilsa Faust is one of the best additions to any spy franchise
I think this is the best Mission Impossible film they made. Its my favorite for sure! The pacing is great, the action is incredible and the introduction of Rebecca Ferguson? Instant classic.
It’s my fav one right after the first one. They really did well balancing out Rebecca and Tom, there’s good character-harmony throughout this film, making it enjoyable to watch
Just when you thought ‘Mission: Impossible” couldn’t get any better . . . ❤️Rebecca Ferguson❤️
Rogue Nation is my favorite of the series. The scene at the opera house in Vienna is one of my all time favorite scenes in cinema history. It's a master class in film making. The direction, the timing, the cinematography, the choreography, the music, the action and suspense. It's perfection.
I was thinking about this recently, out of all the movies I've seen I think that Rogue Nation's Opera House setpiece might be my favorite scene in any action/spy movie. The music just elevates everything to God-tier for me.
The underwater scene is always so nerve racking and it’s crazy that Tom Cruise learned how to hold his breath for 6 minutes to prepare for that scene.
But *why*?!? There was so much CG to cover the safety wires they might as well have not bothered.
@@smiffy68 bro. grow a brain.
@@smiffy68 Because they wanted it to be one take.
@@smiffy68 Because its Tom Cruise!!!
@@smiffy68 challenge ever heard of the word.
One almost unnoticeable part of this film, that I love is that there's no music/score playing during the car chase. The riveting sound design and what's going on is enough to keep you hooked, engaged and thrilled throughout the whole sequence. I'm enjoying and following you along on these reactions to the films in the series. Can't wait for Fallout before watching the new one on the theater.
Probably the most dangerous and impressive stunt he pulled so far in the series has arrived
Directors :Lets Use CGI
Tom: I am CGI ( Cruise Going Insane)
"well if he's got the gun" i was like ooooooo damn too soon lol
Awesome! Rogue Nation and Fallout are my favorites of the franchise (so far). Just got tickets for Dead Reckoning next week. Pumped!
I really love Rebecca Ferguson in this movie (series)! She's amazing. Her character is my favorite along with Ethan, off course. Oh, the new movie is being very well received by critics (99% Rotten Tomatoes)
I heard during a recent premier they were getting very cozy, could not keep their hands off one another and were even kissing.
@@trhansen3244well, I haven't heard that, but I think that their chemistry is only professional. But I might be wrong haha
@@trhansen3244no dude
@@trhansen3244she's married
Since the release, I have had a celeb crush on Rebecca Fergusson and have no idea why. 🤔😂
It's her killer legs that did you in.
Every time Solomon Lane said something, I thought… can someone get this man a Lozenge lol
Constantly looks like someone just crop dusted him. 😠
In the blu-ray commentary the Director mentioned that Cruise could have died or a very bad accident when he was on the motorcycle and his knee was to close to the ground, you can see Cruise pick his knee up when he realized it.
Tom Cruise, dude always brings the entertainment. There are plans for him to go to actual space to shoot a film. Love or hate, the dude is dedicated to his craft.
This one might be my favorite. Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa is incredible. That yellow dress 😍
I'm quite the sap for action films. I like the fast paced, heart-stopping sequences. Rogue Nation does not disappoint.
early discussion about dead reckoning is; yeah, it delivers even more than RN.
Seeing Rogue Nation in theaters was the day I fell in love with Rebecca Ferguson. She's amazing in everything she's in.
Honestly this channel wouldn’t be the same without all the technical difficulties. ♥️
Right? Their daughter is so damn adorable that she has us all looking forward to technical difficulties now lol!! I mean how friggin cute was it when she came out during their last M:I movie reaction talking about her tamagotchi!!!???? ❤I had no idea those were even still being made lol. I'm 38 now and I remember the Tamagotchis first came out when I was in 4th or 5th grade, so 1996!!! 😲🤯
@@eyezaropin1304mine didn't last a week
World's record was like 20 years or more
@@-M0LE WHAT??? 20 fckn years?? I don’t recall them having a charging port or batteries lol. Though they probably did I just can’t remember so that blows my mind how someone kept one alive that long, crazy 🤣
@@-M0LE My grandfather took mine and smashed it with a hammer lol. He said it was a mindless distraction to just be staring at that little screen for so long. So he gave me two choices, either I read a book of his choosing, or I could, and this is a direct quote, "grab some glue from the drawer and put this stupid fuckin thing back together piece by piece and no going out after school till you’re done". 😅 It took me 12 days to glue every single one of the smashed pieces together cause after day #2 I became really focused and motivated to put it back together as perfect as possible lol. My grandfather had amazing ways of teaching life lessons that's for sure.
9:32 “He’s in Las Vegas” dude 🤣🤣
Rebecca Ferguson/Ilsa was such a good addition to the franchise, genius move by whoever cast her and thought of ilsa. this movie is fantastic, fallout is even better but still this movie is an A+ action movie fallout is just A+++. Ghost protocol through fallout is the best 3 movie stretch in action movie history. Anyway this franchise is peak action movie stuff, they’re so damn entertaining and fun to watch.
“He’s in Las Vegas.” Hilarious!
I really hope that he wasn't serious when he said that.
Ferguson... Such an amazing actor and so damn beautiful! She is such a great cast to this franchise.
Beetlejuice. Baldwin's most UN-Baldwin role.
GlenGarry Glen Ross...his BEST role as his own natural brand of a-holiness.
Love your content guys! Love from Denmark
The first movie is still probably the "best" Mission Impossible to me since it's the one that started it all -- plus it feels the most grounded to reality. Aside from that the franchise takes it to another level starting with this movie. For me this movie and 'Fallout' feels like a Part One and Part Two. They're essentially the same movie stretched out to two releases -- which I'm OK with. And many people are put off with Tom Cruise's personal life, but the man just makes so many great movies. His movies are made for the big screen and very few actors put in the amount of effort that he does.
Yes Cruise was actually hanging on the side of the plane, wiggled his way over the pole while handcuffed, was underwater for 6mins, drifted a car in narrow alleys, and rode a motorcyle at high speeds. And he's just getting started 😅😅😅
There will never as good a boat chase as the one in Face/Off.
I have been really impressed with how accurately Mrs. Movies has been able to figure things out before the movie reveals them. Kudos to you and your acute senses.
At the end of _'Ghost Protocol'_ the briefing Ethan is listening to mentions The Syndicate.
In the television show, during the later seasons, when word came down from the studio executives to stop having the missions be Cold War-related, they start being anti-organized crime missions.
Being the 1960s, television wasn't copacetic with using the term Mafia and thus the principal adversary of the I.M.F. became: The Syndicate.
This was the last film I saw in theaters with my grandfather ❤
"Remember Tom Cruise actually did this!"
"OH no he did not."
Me: oh yes he did! (Yes he had a safety harness)
I still don't know how they filmed the car flip sequence (inside the car). Some aspect of that had to be real, but man, airbags and just being flipped around would be whiplash and pain for days. 😂
Your baby girls are awesome. Thanks for being patient and caring parents every time they interrupt. It's fun for me to see you both take care of them in while filming. 🙂
Whenever you see an insane stunt in a Mission:impossible movie, you have to take a second, lean back and remember: Yes, Tom Cruise did that for real. With some rope and a safety net, but he sure did it.
Rebecca Ferguson is awesome addition !
9:32 He’s in Las Vegas… 😂
Fallout has Ilsa, and Superman😂😂
Mission Impossible is the best consistently good series.
Nobody tell Tom that opening stunt would have looked exactly the same done on green screen
M-I:5 was topsy-turvy to me.
I saw this one in IMAX as well.
Directed by Oscar-winning writer of The Usual Suspects, Christopher McQuarrie.
Worked on 2 earlier films with Cruise as writer/director of Jack Reacher (2012)
and writer on Edge of Tomorrow (2014); which are both enjoyable.
This newer team with Renner coming back as Brandt, introducing Rebacca Ferguson as Illa
and Alec Baldwin as the CIA boss was pretty good.
Meeting the match of a lifetime with The Syndicate.
Sean Harris as the leader, Solomon Lane was geniusly sinister.
I was listening to Hunt's message at the end of M:I-4 and knew these were the next bad guys.
Couldn't wait to see them go mano a mano.
Cruise once again, the consumate performer as he is.
The stunts (Air, Underwater, on the road) are quite amazing.
Mr. McQuarrie sticks with the franchise from here on out.
Making for some more incredible sequels.
18:46 Mission Impossible Fallout
When I saw the Opera sunglasses guy I thought "Vanilla Ice In the house😎"
I don't know if you guys have seen 'Silo' - maybe, as you seem to know Rebecca Ferguson - but if you haven't, it's a must! Not just for Rebecca but for the whole concept. She's great all grimy as an engineer, great in a sheriff's uniform, and even looks good as a cleaner. 😉 And the cliffhanger was excellent. One of the best things I've seen in ages.
"Totally Possible Mission Force" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
People need to start knowing and remembering Tom Cruise and Jackie Chan are the only 2 Hollywood actors who absolutely do all their own stunts. Now, there are safety wires connected too (i.e. opening plane scene). However, it is still very dangerous!
Tom Cruise learned to hold his breath for SIX MINUTES in this movie.
Then came Kate Winslett and broke his record, when she held her breath for more than SEVEN MINUTES on the set of "AVATAR: The Way of Water".
So good. And Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa... 😍 😍 🔥 🔥
Wind instruments can be brass, as that one is. Apologize.
45:15 this totally made me think that one P-Diddy show making the band studios shut down but the Chappelle show version
"If I doubt for even one second which side you're on . . . I'll permenantly disable your cable box and router." - Luther
I’ve heard from an unimpeachable source, dead reckoning is also excellent 😊. Btw: Kate Winslet helded her breath for 7 minutes and 14 seconds (doing nothing!) for avatar 2. Ps: Mrs movies proved twice, she’s a genius ❤🎉
You’re finally ready for 6! Most people’s favorite.
What a great explosive opening to a very good entry of the mission impossible franchise.
Yes i meant your intro. 😂😂
The kids always interrupt the mission impossible movies lol
She is hilarious and I think you should sign your little girl on.. She needs a job in the show or maybe do some Pixar and have her watch w you guys.. Tough but probably great!
I saw a trivia about the car chase, and it said that Tom Cruise did the driving with Simon Pegg in the car. The part with the stairs was not scripted, Simon Pegg was actually yelling "STAIRS! STAIRS! STAIRS!" XD
Yes he is outside that plane
the motorcycle chase scene was so cool
Thank you, I needed that bit of cuteness today.
well, you'll love the next one for sure
Cruise actually performed the stunt hanging onto the plane. He was wearing a safety harness attached to a secured cable that was digitally removed in post production. The wife definitely wasn't feeling that Alec Baldwin joke 😯
Cruise certainly did do that plane stunt for real. I know, cos I watched them doing it multiple times from my back garden lol. I live quite near the airfield where they kept taking off n landing.
It would be a treat for you to watch an episode of the original 60s TV show.
The next one is even better!!!
Hah, I KNEW you wouldn't get though the longest MI movie to date without your daughter interrupting!
When you said, "Anti IMF", I swear you said Hentai IMF...😶😲🤣🤣🤣
Rose the Hat stole the show in this one
Sure! She's amazing
This one might be my favorite MI movie. It's between this one and the next one in the series. So either 5 or 6. Ilsa is my favorite character.
Can. Not. Wait. For. Dead. Reckoning!
The next one is my favorite! Can’t wait!
Well now we know which of you two was the band geek in school.
Speed 2 is on a boat
There's a better Alec Baldin gun joke in Fallout. Has to do with not knowing whether a gun is loaded or not. A+ material
Great movie, great reaction, great Rebecca Ferguson, Top Gear og great game.
i really liked alec baldwin way back in hunt for red october but then stardom gave him a big head and he was good in the departed but then he got to political on saturday night live and now after the shooting on set he's going through a dark time both emotionaly and financialy
These are great.
Can't wait for Fall Out 😊😊😊
Best mission impossible movie. My favorite one.
29:08 best moments of your videos 😂
Rogue nation is the Best in the Series
Minsk Belarus looks suspiciously like England.
These movies always have to one up on the previous
This for a viewer is not a bad thing
Superb movie
Ferguson 💗
Ethan Hunt has two brothers Mike and Eric. However, CZcams won't let you say their names out loud.
NO! That joke was not too soon.
(edit)
This movie is superb and the next one is even better and the new one seems to be better yet. Wow.
(original rant)
I do like these movies - and Tom Cruise in general - but the whole 'it's really Tom Cruise doing that, it's amazing!!" doesn't impress me one little bit.
We have stunt people, we have CG, we have all kinds of ways to achieve the same result. Spend the same amount on CG that you did on getting TC to do it and I PROMISE you will not know the difference.
Was that new Top Gun movie really so much better because the actors sat in the back seat of a real trainer aircraft? Really?
Oh, we can tell the difference.
@@trhansen3244- really? Can you tell which of the ~40% of ariel shots in TG2 are actually CG?
@@smiffy68 Of course. I am a film scholar.
What a weird argument. Films, CGI and AI could get to the point where every scene imaginable could star any actor (libing or dead) and be stunningly photorealistic but all done with tech and effects. You telling me the knowledge of reality has zero impact on your experience of a movie? The action? The performances? Are you fucking with us?
Yes half the stuff in M:I could be done with CGI. The fact they don't is precisely what makes it astounding and why they are massive action success stories.
Rogue Nation is arguably the best Mission Impossible movie to date. I actually put it above the original for a couple of reasons. The original team was not that memorable... even though I know they were all meant to die. Two, the finale in the original is more and more silly the more I think about it.
With this movie, I finally grew to actually care about Brant and Benji. And how can you not love the addition of Ilsa Faust? How can you not love the underwater cooling tank scene? How can you not love the opening scene with that look Ethan gives the guy before he flies out? How can you not love how they trap Atley and Solomon Lane? How can you not love Solomon Lane as the ultimate villain in this franchise?
I felt Lane was a poor Arvin Sloane copy. But in fallout he steps it up quite a bit for me. I think he just looked too skinny and old in this one.
Also Fallout has Henry Cavill so I’m biased 😂😂😜
@@B-Dad I'm not that big a fan of Fallout. Everyone raves about it but they don't recognize the tired, recycled nuclear bomb threat.
Solomon Lane is skinny and that's why he needs so much muscle
@@LukeLovesRose
I was far more interested in the Henry being a turncoat thing that the nuclear bomb was just the goober of the movie. Plus for a second I thought maybe the bomb did go off and wow was that a moment. I’m like OH this is why Toms so far away…to live on. But no. I was glad they didn’t die but maybe a better movie would have done it.
I’m ok with the mostly happy ending thing they do though. I assume this next movie might end a bit darker but we shall see.
I hope you are thoroughly enjoying these movies mr & mrs movies,
this series is absolutely fantastic..
3:32 And yes he was on the side of that plane and ofcourse he was strapped.
it's Tome Cruise, he's the last actual hollywood actor that refuses to be a CGI cartoon, and i applaud him for it!
I"ll Be Waiting For The Next Dead Reckoning Part Two
🎶Saxamaphone…. saxamaphone 🎶
I could never get into any of the Tom Cruise M:I films. I still just like to watch the original TV show from the 60s and 70s.
it was a Saximophone
I still think this one is the best mission impossible movie.
One thing I hate is the playing of upcoming scenes during the credits. Like I’m here, I’m trying to watch the movie…NO SPOILERS 😂😂🤷🏾♂️👍🏾
17:19 - Mission: Trivial
Can't wait for you to do the next one Fallout , it's the best one of the franchise !
