Hugh Grant had his phone hacked by the UK press and spent months attending court and enquiries. Part of the reason Guy Richie asked him to play the character was a chance for Grant to get revenge.

The one other Guy Ritchie movie to watch is 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' (1998) if you liked these 2. I never expected to see another Guy Ritchie film I would like, until seeing The Gentlemen. Because after Snatch he seemed to disappear / became a bit of a flop merchant. Anyway I was always glad that his films came along at the right time and replaced the '4 Weddings'/Notting Hill' awfulness that ill-represented England in the film world.

You should watch Rocknrolla. That is another Guy Ritchie mob masterpiece.

Guy Ritchie did a lot of movies, but for me his English gangster movies are his best, there he really shines, chek out "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Rockenroller"! He is a master in contrasting London street level vulgarity and Britisch sophistication against each other.
I really loved "The Gentlmen", it is probably my favorit Guy Ritchie movie, alongside the first Sherlock Holmes.

    Июнь, 2024.
    А фильм хорош.
В правильном переводе Гоблина, конечно же. Или в оригинальной озвучке.

Another great British film for you both would be ‘Filth’ starring James McAvoy. Bit of a mad one that. Cheers.
