Honestly what's there to say about this area? Kill the boss then go to the depths. The only thing of value here is Griggs cause he sells magic 'n' stuff. Unlocking the cage door is also pretty useful for The Depths, but make sure you buys purple and blooming moss from the Undead Female Merchant. They will be almost essential for Blightown.
Also, the audio quality from the game recordings are a bit weird. Don't know why. Get over it.

But I killed Capra in one try, most recently. I also had low poise, but a club +5 that did nice damage on him. I really wanted to open the shortcut. This time around I also killed Orienstin and altered demon model solo without npc summons, I killed Orienstin last and got a nice ring, that took 8 deaths though. I made a new character a few days ago because I didn't like the build I had for 2-3 years back.
I started to cry when the second group of Hoods pooped out.

You can easily cheap out the Capra Demon by walking onto the ledge near the stairs and shooting fire arrows at him. He can hit you, but falls down as soon he tries to attack

for some reason my basement key wont work... i got it behinf the tusk monster and have killed the gargoyles...
+Audiophiler It worked now... I think I mightve tried it the first time after geting the key BUT before killing the gagroygles. Is it a requirement to kill them? If it is that wasnt made very clear lol. (What does it say if you try to open the door before this?)
I searched the whole map again looking for a door for this key. had to check a walkthrough after an hour of running around only to find it was the door I thought of FIRST after all...
Funny thing is I have actually played this all the way to Blightown before on PS3 but still didnt remember this. But I do remember now that I did this same exact thing back then lol!
I'm glad now that I waited for the PC version, it looks great with mods and no FPS drops...
