Technically, yes. Depends on your priorities. Like technically you can skip the entire Irithyll thing and go straight to the Profaned Capital...which would later mean you'll still have to go to the Irithyll.

That's exactly why I died laughing at that point lol - cause I used to rage like you wouldn't believe when Dark Souls first came out and my friend and I couldn't co op to save our lives. It's TOTALLY spot on.
Now in DkS II you cant summon anyone, but because they have been already summoned in another world D:. It really is a fight to win a phantom haha
dementedp Lol that's actually a good thing! Summoning speed and connection is fantastic in this game, but if you are trying to play with a friend or someone specific, just use the Name Engraved Ring: You and the other person both put on the ring and both pick the same God's name (I think there are 10 to pick from) and then only other people wearing the matching name will be able to see your sign. So in my opinion, Namco and FromSoftware fixed BOTH problems: Connection speed is now great and consistent, AND they made it easier to play with friends. They even allowed voice chat this time although, ironically enough, I never use it. After complaining constantly that it wasn't in Demon's or Dark Souls 1. Go and figure lol. I guess I prefer talking with emotes and maintaining the charming cryptic element to player interactions.

I beat him the first time, was not hard at all, just used gold pine resine and atack + doge
Dude wtf, if you can't do it it is your problem... well I played demon souls before, because of that I knew that rolling = invulnerable... I went light, the taurs surprised me, one arrow hit me... I rolled, saw the ladder, waited for the obvious thing... to roll away from 1 hit and then climb... kill them and jumped onto the taurus... I mean, the tutorial boss taught you about that... maybe it took me 40 minutes to reach him, but nailed it on 1 try... I can totally say that there are some that you can't do on the first try usually even if you have experience on the previous souls game... for example, capra demon or ornstein and smough if you try to kill ornstein last...

I scour the area if the game gives me any opportunity to (so disregarding bosses like the Capra Demon who bull-rush you from the start). In fact, that's the only way I found to kill the Tauros Demon, luring him onto the tower and carpet-bombing him from a distance until he died.
Took me a minute to find the ladder, but once I did, I was like, "Sweet, a height I can drop from! LeRoy Jenkins!"

A note said "use fire". I then proceeded to fire bomb him harder than the US napalmed Vietnam and beat him on my 2nd try. I like to think that the drake bathing me in flames was some sick way of the game teaching me what karma is.
