    VASELINE!!! Literally saved me from giving up. The insulation below the carpet, is like some type of rubber, on my 04. Not like the felt type in the video.
    You will see the lip that the motor will get hung on, just dab a little bit of vaseline on it beforehand, and it will slide in much easier.
    Only took me 4 tries to figure that out. LOL
    Excellent video!!!
    Would never had attempted or accomplished this without you guys.
    Thanks a million!!!!

    I had a hard time with this too, but most it was because the location and my approach angle(the way I was holding my mouth). The key is just the right amount of force combined with the angle. I was worried about damaging it, so that messed with me a little. I used the old one to practice with because I did not care about breaking it. Watch out for the screw mounts on the truck, the blower can get hung on them.
    I wrestled that thang for a while then I changed it up and worked with it in shorter intervals while adjusting my angle a little each time. It worked. Now she's blowing like a Oklahoma twister on a April night.

    Thanks for these videos they are always helpful . You made this look so easy . But I had to remove my front seat of my 2004 (to be able to get under the dash)and pull out all the plastic from below the carpet under the dash to get to that 3rd bolt in the back . I’m 3 hours deep on this .. maybe the 2004 is built different ? Or I just have giant clown hands ..

    Thanks a lot dude been trying to figure out my problem for a year. Finally bought a resistor yesterday didn't work. Then notice on your video you didn't take the cage off to get to the blower motor and I'm like wtf you have to be kidding me. That's when I notice the motor sitting in the kick panel. Went outside and tapped it with a screwdriver and it pops right on. Thanks a lot all this time I been avoiding taking the cage out to get to the blower and the lil bastard is in my face the whole time.smh

      1A Auto Parts Had a little trouble with unplugging the unit. didn't know how to press the lever to release it, thought I was gonna break it. and a little trouble replacing the unit, its a really tight fit but I knew it would go. I figured it out and now it works great. Thanks for your clip, it really helped a lot. And the cost was 101.00 from AutoZone, Not a bad fix for doing it myself. A dealer would have cost three times as much and took a lot longer that a couple hours of my day.

    So my 2004 F-150 Blower motor only works on the #4 setting. It’s the highest setting. When I switch it to the #1, 2 or 3 setting, I get no air blowing out of the air vents? I check the fuses and relay switch and they are fine. Any suggestions or is the BLOWER MOTOR bad? It works on #4 highest switch though?.??. Thanks

    1/4" drive wobble socket and a long extension make this alot easier. Use a bright flashlight as well. Its hard to see in the pictures but the squirrel cage fan is slightly different on the aftermarket part so it rubs when installed. Mine grenaded in a couple years of minimal use so this time I went to a junk yard and got one.

    Agree with M3inAZ! It would be a lot easier with the seat and door removed first as it is really hard to reach when one is sandwiched between the passenger door and seat, After a long struggle I have removed 2 of the bolts and at this point have given up on removing the final one which is closest to the floor and firewall . That is why I just came here to hoping to get a good tip , but looks like I'm out of luck so I will try removing seat.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  Před 5 lety

      +Edvin Urias While we cannot give you a definitive diagnosis, that sounds like it could be the blower motor resistor. There also may be an issue with the motor itself. We recommend having a local mechanic take a look at it and see what they can find for a more certain diagnosis.

    The video makes the blower removal and replacement appear very easy. It’s not. I spent an hour trying to get the old one out, and haven’t been able to get the new one in. Bad design by Ford. Ready to go to dealer. I image the mechanics there will have just as difficult time as I have. Kudos to the person who previously posted, and was successful.
