Don! FSR is amazing. It has most definitely helped get some extra mileage out of my now very old GPU, which is fantastic, because the inflated GPU prices are finally falling!
It is nice having another quality adjustment knob to turn. Most games look so much better when you don't have to turn down things like shadow or lighting quality, but instead turn down the resolution to 1600x900 or even 1280x720 and let it get FSR-ed up to 2560x1440.

your video is a godsend, Im new to Linux and using Bazzite 40 and after some copy and paste , I have the game downloading ! you rock man! update, had a issue needing to have 8 gigs of swap able something instead of 4, but got that and she started right up! and to celibate i full sent my fire bird that i got fiddy percent off on, straight in to a space station ! whooo!

Hi thanks for your guide, I just wanted to mention if you are using a Joystick, Wine will often use it as a gamepad by default and not all the controls will work. You can fix this by going to Wine game controller settings in Lutris, find your controller in the list (It was VKB Gladiator NXT for me) and click the override button. This will force it to be used as DirectInput joystick instead of an XInput gamepad and all the axis and buttons should show up. I could even copy across my SC control profile from windows and it worked perfectly. Also at the time of writing I had control issues running with Wayland but with X11 the game ran flawlessly.
Installing 3.22 on Garuda and had a problem with the game window only detecting it was the game window about halfway down the screen. It’s like the pointer thinks the screen size is different the the game window. Following this tutorial fixed that issue. Thanks.

I'm running into big problems getting Lutris to install the wine prefix on anything other than in the home folder :( EDIT: Ok I think I figured it out, it's looks like it's because FAt doesn't support symbolic links. going to repartition and see.

I still use a GeForce Titan X (not the pascall version but the one before that) I get the game running but as soon as I start moving I get a constant red screen or some similar artefacts. What other settings do I do for a nVidia card?

So to use FSR I just need to have it enabled and change resolution in-game (star citizen)? I do that and it does not seem to work.
As I managed to trash my win10 uefi after widows took over my boot system this is awesome as I only have winshit for games

Im pretty sure "deploy easy anti-cheat workaround" is what other linux guides have been using which is making changes to the settings.json file. I'm not a linux user but have been reading up on this to see if I can get vorpx to work the way it used to.

i tried this and it worked and all but the games fps was horrible and idk what to do because it didnt start working better even after waiting alot longer than 5minutes. I'm using linux mint.. HELP!!

Was thinking of moving to Linux but I've changed my mind now. Instead of double clicking the "Setup.exe" icon, I have to go through all that lot? Linux isn't for me . . . yet.

Is it still the same procedure if you're running nobara? Is it possible to point it at the same file location that you have the game installed on Windows? Would be cool to dual boot and see how it compares before making a complete switch
tried with nobara and doesn't work for me. After doing all those steps it just shows "running" in Lutris and SC Launcher but nothing happens.
Followed to a T on a fresh Nobara install, still getting the crash pop up that’s red from the rsi launcher saying the game failed to launch. What am I doing wrong?

Hey, after i installed the launcher lutris gets stuck on "launching" and never actually launches the game. Is there any way to fix it?

Game runs great and is more stable than what I had on Windows my only problem is that there is now sound in the menus or game. Ive double checked my system settings and connections , all other games and applications produce sound. Any suggestions?

For me it just hangs on the splash screen and nothing happens when pressing lauch from the launcher using arch linux with zen kernel and i have tried using it with linux kernel too. Guess i just use windows for this
give liquorix kernel a try, sometimes i have issues with stock kernel and liquorix usually fixes those issues, most recently was cyberpunk 1.6 update. needed to run liquorix

I have tried for about 6 hours to get this to work. Not as seamless as your video makes it seem. I still can't get Star Citizen to run on Pop!_OS. I've got a system that is more than capable, I just can't get it to work.
which process are you getting stuck at?
@@NovaspiritGaming everything works until I try to launch the actual game. The install works great. I have tried a bunch of different runners, but they all lock up my system. I cannot get it to run.
you make sure you ahve the dxvk-async?
@@NovaspiritGaming I did. I installed the dxvk using the lug helper just like you did in the video. Then I followed the directions in the lug Github to set lutris to use the async dxvk. Then I tried all the optimization steps. Nothing will allow it to run.
@agapp11able I did install the version that the lug helper provided. Wine-GE-proton. That's the version I enabled. I tried a few different runners from the lug helper. No success.

Wow, not bad. A simple 27 step process to finally get Star Citizen to work at a crystal clear 960x540 resolution! At this point they should just stop developing the game. Its never going to be finished.
