I love Boreas. He's rare among Blades in that he's completely inhuman, and yet he's adorable. They should have made a plush toy of him.
Yet he counts as a humanoid in merc missions
a Boreas bean bag chair with his arms acting as attached blankets sounds delightful and I wish I was better at sewing so I could make one for myself

So here's a fact to blow your mind:
Boreas is voiced by Jules de Jongh, who also voices Finch. Not terribly surprising, right? Boreas and Finch have rather similar voices.
She also voices Brighid.
I saw this in an earlier comment but still my mind is blown

This is the same level of "woah" as finding out Persona's Nanako Dojima has the same voice actress as Aigis.

I can only think of two things when I see Boreas:

Ah, Boreas - the definitive easiest blade to raise since so many of his nodes simply require you to give him various pouch items; I love him. He's soft and round and friend-shaped!
Reminds me of a certain round squishy ball that loves to eat from another series.

@@gastonibanez7349 no, he's a rare blade. most (but not all) rare blades are gotten through the gatcha system. It's not manipulative at all, don't worry. it's very nice to you actually.
Boreas might be one of my favorite blades just because I think he’s weird and funny and the fact that he shares a voice actor with Brighid is really funny to me.

@@ClawedAsh Possibly from either the stark contrast of their voices, or the range of voices that de Jongh gives them.
I know his head is supposed to be a moth, but he always felt like the real Nopon blade to me, the way someone might draw a Nopon if they'd never seen one before.
Part of me feels like Boreas wasn't exactly made to be a super strong blade. Rather, I almost feel like he was made to be one of the first blades you ever get.
Let's put this in perspective. He has far and away the easiest affinity chart to fill out of any of the New Game blades. Not only that, but a newer player is going to prefer a harder to kill healer, so Boreas fits that bill perfectly. And you can tell this is the case because he's in one of the pity blade groups.
Then, as you go throughout the game and learn about the way the game works and how strong other forms of healing become, Boreas becomes a bit weaker, but he still has his niche. I really like that some of the blades in the pity groups serve as a form of teaching tool.
It's a shame that there wasn't just one pity group that consisted of something like Boreas, Nim and Gorg. You know, cause they'd serve as a strong blade you can have at the start, a lesson about fusion combos, and then teaching players that a particular blade role doesn't pigeonhole what the blade can do.
If monolith soft hired a smart person, like me, Boreas would have doubled pouch item effects on skill tree simply because that would be really funny.

@@danielsandoval1231 Well, there's a few things that would make this a fun skill. 1 lovemerry cake would max out art recharge. The 2 best books would give him +96% special damage. 1 victory smoothie would make him a really good party gauge builder with fusion combos. Nothing game breaking, though.

Never used him during the story (heck, I got kos-mos before him), but I just love his design. Just wish there were plushies of him and Ursula.

Boreas is LITERALLY just a cartoon character... I love him so much.
Boreas is cool, for two reasons.
1. His level 3 special is great for healing and AoE damage during the story
2. Those hands are tongues
I prefer getting boreas really early because you can easily fill out your affinity chart with just giving him food

FUN FACT:
Boreas' cool down is a reflection of his speed (do his Blade Quest and see)
He's definitely faster than Mythra (though this seems to be more of a joke than anything else) and it wouldn't be odd to give him a higher cooldown than the highest cooldown to reflect that (though a cooldown of six sounds a bit much, huh)
I remember when I played this game for the first time and pulled him. Tbh I was pretty ok with dromarch for healing, but Boreas basically made first playthrough a cakewalk.

Finally getting around to playing Xenoblade 2 more and got Boreas as my 2nd rare gacha blade! These tips in the skill tree out to make raising trust for my future blades easier!

My first rare blade! I loved filling out his affinity chart and using him in the early game story and then dropped him forever after that
Boreas: the one that I beat certain unique monsters solo with, way before I was supposed to.
It wasn't a speedrun time, but being able to use normal game Rex with Boreas to beat the big bug in the decaying titan is still an achievement for me.
boreas was sick for me on my first playthrough. level 3 was basically a party full heal even vs a single target
Boreas is one of my favorite blades in the game. Hes just a lovable moth ball(Get the joke?) and easy to raise, making him a great partner for early game.
An interesting fun fact that no one has mentioned in the cements is that his affinity chart mentions the favorite items of some of the major characters and blades. Kinda useless in the age of internet, but is nice. It feels like he knows you and your friends well.
The only blade I love more is Finch! Wait...I'm drawing connections here...lovable...cute...same va!?! It only gets better :)

In a similar aspect to Vale among rare Rare Blades, Boreas is probably my favorite among the common Rare Blades.

Also, I needs some advice. I've been running blades like Fiora and Elma against Ken, but I keep getting one-shotted by lethal harpoon when I use both of them. I've been running Fiora on Morag with crimson headband, noise dampener, and either divine vambraces or avant-garde. Fiora has affinity max atk V, outdoor atk VI, and sunlight eye VI. I use Elma on Rex with the exact same accessories/aux cores. Lethal Harpoon will still one-shot even with avant-garde and no abyss masque. Can someone help me plz lol
It's just straight up one shotting you? Are you perhaps getting it to awakened state with a blade combo? That will increase all his damage so once he enrages it can one shot you, otherwise it shouldn't be and it should be fairly easy to win. Be careful about blade combo usage against ken. If all else fails try adding some driver combo support with tora and master scope.
@@EnelXC I think the blade combo/awakening is part of it, but he can one-shot me at the beginning of the battle unless I get lucky or use an evasion art. However, even with sunlight eye VI, my accuracy is still an issue. Should I run some dexterity commons I'm using Tora and QTpi with master scope, sometimes Tora can break Ken before lethal harpoon. I think the elemental awakening is the main problem, because then he can continuously one-shot me. Thanks Enel :)

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion but bitballs are for sure my favorite weapon in the game. I love just giving Nia Crossette, Boreas, and 🍈🐰and letting her go wild.
Bitballs are pretty fun but only on Nia and Zeke, bitballs are kinda just made for Nia but Zekes pulvarizing dunk is really good too

Is it just me, or did anyone else think at first that Boreas was voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris, a.k.a. Morgana from P5 and Sothis from FE Three Houses? The voice just sounded like her to me despite Boreas being male. Boreas is cool, love his funny design. Still don’t know what he exactly is, though
